Sali stared at the true form beneath the Demon King Armament.
Shock filled his expression.
He had never expected that a girl would be the one controlling the legendary armament that only the Demon King could wield.
“You’re not Ville? That can’t be right. The Demon King Armament has no successor yet. Only he should be able to use it, right?”
Doubts swirled in Hels’s heart as well.
He glanced at Kurei and Melu.
These two demon maids who served Ville treated this girl with exactly the same attitude they had shown toward Ville.
What on earth was going on?
“I have inherited everything from Ville—including all his grudges against you.” Via smiled. “Remember this well. My name now is Via. Today, everything will be settled once and for all.”
“You…”
Sali still could not figure out who this person truly was.
Was she Ville himself, or merely his successor?
In the end, it did not matter much right now.
What mattered was eliminating this troublesome obstacle so that Nicholas could become the new Demon King.
Only then could he fully seize control of the Desolate Fallen Continent.
“Kill her, Nicholas. Whether she’s Ville or not, kill them all.”
“Yes.”
Nicholas raised his fist.
His figure blurred for a moment.
“Desolate Fire!”
Via summoned Desolate Fire, gripping the blade with both hands and slashing forward.
In the next instant, Nicholas appeared right in front of her.
He crossed his arms, using his incredibly tough skin to block the anticipated strike.
Nicholas let out a fierce roar.
His aura surged dramatically, sending sand and stones flying from the ground.
Via stomped on the ground and quickly retreated backward, avoiding the shockwave.
“Demon King, is it my turn to take the stage now?”
Desolate Fire began chattering excitedly.
“This guy is really tough. He doesn’t look like some easy minion to deal with. Demon King, why are you fighting someone this troublesome? If you don’t take this seriously, I’m afraid I won’t even be able to break through his defenses!”
“Shut up already. You’re annoying me!”
Via smacked Desolate Fire, signaling the blade to be quiet.
From their brief clash, she could tell Nicholas’s strength was no joke.
He had likely already reached Legendary tier.
No wonder Sali dared to carry out such an ambitious plan.
It made sense—if there was no Legendary-tier powerhouse backing him…
Ancient runes on Nicholas’s body began to glow.
Abyssal Force surged out from him, spreading with powerful sound waves…
When Hels heard the sound, it felt as if his heart might explode.
His brain went blank, and he dropped to his knees.
An irresistible oppressive pressure weighed down on his bloodline.
The other demons present reacted the same way.
None could lift their heads before Nicholas.
“What a disgusting feeling!”
Kurei wore a deeply uncomfortable expression.
She and Melu quickly hid behind Sashaya.
“This puppet actually has some skill. To be able to suppress other demons like this… Could he have been a Demon King in the past as well?”
Sashaya remained completely unaffected.
She still stood atop Albion’s head, looking down at the battlefield below.
Desolate Fire was right about one thing—they needed to take this seriously.
Via felt the pressure coming from Nicholas.
It was as if invisible hands were pressing down on her shoulders, trying to force her to her knees.
She closed her eyes, converting her abyssal aura into Abyssal Force while fully activating her Demon King bloodline.
The pressure encircling her was completely torn apart by the awakened power.
When she opened her eyes again, her pink irises had turned a mysterious, noble purple.
“Demon King Armament, Overload Mode!”
Via let the Demon King Armament fully cover her body and activated the extremely dangerous Overload Mode.
The armament’s system removed its usual restrictions.
It transformed into something like a water pump, ignoring the user’s safety as it frantically drew in Abyssal Force to power itself.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The pitch-black armament emitted deafening drum-like operating sounds.
Black mist spread outward, plundering energy from everything it touched.
The entire space seemed to transform into a domain ruled by the abyss.
“What… what kind of power is this?”
Seeing the Demon King Armament with its restrictions lifted, fine beads of sweat appeared on Sali’s forehead.
Fear began to take root in his heart.
“Desolate Fire, burn!”
Via ran her palm across Desolate Fire.
The demonic blade expanded further, and pitch-black flames ignited along its edge.
The black flames could distort space itself, as if they could incinerate everything in the world.
Nicholas moved at a speed invisible to the naked eye, appearing behind Via.
He launched his attack from her blind spot.
The moment he threw his punch, black light symbolizing Abyssal Force flashed.
Then overwhelming black flames engulfed his body.
Under normal circumstances, his attack speed would have been too fast for Via to react.
One punch would have turned her into pulp.
Unfortunately for him, Via had already activated the Demon King Armament’s Overload Mode.
She already possessed Transcendent-tier strength.
With Constantine’s help in awakening her Demon King bloodline and the extreme support of the Demon King Armament, she had stepped into Legendary tier.
“Your body isn’t invincible either.”
Via gripped Desolate Fire in a reverse hold, blocking Nicholas’s lethal strike.
She looked at the powerful foe before her and sneered.
Whoosh!
Via swung Desolate Fire, drawing a brilliant sword light that struck Nicholas’s body.
The unstoppable blade edge sliced through skin as tough as steel.
She left a very conspicuous wound on that seemingly indestructible physique.
Nicholas was bleeding.
A look of astonishment crossed Nicholas’s face.
He had never expected that his body, which he had tempered to the extreme, would one day have its defense broken.
“Hmph!”
Via gave Nicholas no time to recover from his shock.
She pressed the attack, spinning her body and drawing another semicircular arc with Desolate Fire that slammed into him.
Nicholas was sent flying by the sword energy interwoven with black flames.
He crashed heavily to the ground, creating a sizable crater.
“Demon King, that was so cool!” Kurei cried out excitedly.
It felt just like the old days—the magnificent Demon King.
Melu watched Via’s figure with pure admiration.
“She can actually maintain her sanity in Overload Mode? How interesting.” Sashaya continued watching the fight with great interest.
On the side of the ancient families, however, the situation was far from pleasant.
“Lord Sali, what… what should we do now?” Hels asked, starting to panic.
Looking at the fallen Nicholas, Sali’s face turned as dark as water.
A ruthless glint flashed in his eyes.
There was no other choice.
He would have to use that move.
