“What kind of relationship is there between us?”
“The kind where we look at each other in the mirror,” Phil answered curtly, her brow arching slightly.
This clearly wasn’t the answer Enya wanted. Her gold-and-red vertical pupils were currently fixed on Phil, scanning her body up and down.
After the nightgown Phil was wearing had been sliced open, she could only keep it from falling off by holding it in place with her hands.
She stood against the wall, her lithe, elegant figure tall and upright, her waist-length silver hair cascading down. She, too, was sizing up Enya, who was lying on the bed.
Phil slightly pursed her moist, pink lips and shot a fierce glare at Enya.
Combined with her increasingly mature charm and beautiful face, that single look was filled with an enchanting, multifaceted allure.
Enya chuckled, refusing to take the bait.
She pulled back her gaze and looked at herself. As she lay on her side on the bed, her dragon tail was draped over her long legs. The tail, connected to her spine, moved as easily as her own arms; she had already become incredibly proficient at controlling it.
She reached up to touch her head. Over the past few days, her dragon horns had grown another section, feeling like cool stone to the touch.
Dragon horns were high-grade materials for magic power, usually used in the staves of magic users to amplify power and casting speed by about 10%. Enya’s pair of dragon horns would likely provide even more.
Besides the Authority of Destruction, Wendelak also possessed the innate abilities of a dragon. Dragon horns were vital organs for harmonizing magic power.
Looking at it this way, she understood perfectly.
Phil was human; she was the past.
Enya was a dragon; she was the future.
A short while ago, they were in a state of superposition, overlapping with one another. Enya was immersed in the past while simultaneously forced to face the future of becoming a dragon.
She had been conflicted and lost until her daughter came to her side.
When Antissas separated Phil from her body, Enya felt as if something had been stripped away from her heart.
The part that had been separated was the “past”!
Because of this, Enya could begin to accept the future where she would become a dragon.
Thinking of this, Enya sat up, a look of realization dawning on her face.
‘No wonder I’m not confused anymore.’
Phil’s eyes widened slightly. Confused?
She was very confused!
Phil lowered her gaze and let out a long sigh before walking to the bedside. She opened her arms and hugged Enya, whispering into her ear.
“Remember to wash the dishes and the laundry.”
Enya froze after hearing that.
She turned to look at Phil, who was pressed against her but still refused to merge, and her brows furrowed deeply.
She said with considerable dissatisfaction, “Hey, I just got back from a business trip, and you’re making me wash dishes and do laundry?”
“What business trip? Didn’t you have a lot of fun?” Phil gave Enya an odd look.
During this trip to White Stone City, Enya had managed to provoke three elven girls, and she hadn’t skipped over the human women either. She truly wasn’t a picky eater.
Having said her piece, Phil transformed into colored-winged moths. After landing on Enya, her form gradually faded away, and the two merged back into one.
Watching the last moth on her finger vanish, Enya gave a self-deprecating laugh.
‘Am I playing house with myself?’
“Hehehe…”
The thought amused her.
Sitting upright, her body blurred with light and shadow for a moment as her appearance changed, switching from her Dragon Princess form to Phil’s form.
She tossed aside the sliced nightgown and found a simple grey dress in the wardrobe to change into. Then, she sat at the vanity and picked up a comb to start taming her messy hair.
As she combed, Enya browsed Phil’s memories. Some parts were edited or hidden, but she didn’t care much.
However, one thing made her gasp.
“…”
Phil had made an appointment today with several noblewomen to go shopping for clothes, and she was supposed to bring the potions they had ordered.
Dealing with these mortal women was actually quite easy for her.
What gave Enya a headache was that Phil hung out with these wealthy ladies every day, making Madam Phil’s image almost identical to theirs.
Madam Phil: an alchemist and a single lady addicted to playing cards.
Thinking about how she could only mingle in the circle of socialites from now on, Enya found it a bit hard to bear.
She touched her face and looked at Madam Phil in the mirror, muttering a complaint.
“Is it really necessary to play it this way?”
After combing her silver hair, she stood up and walked into the living room.
She washed the dishes first, then took the laundry basket to the backyard.
To the outside world, she was the former Legendary Sword Saint, the current Dragon Princess, and the future dragon. But at home, she would always be a good mother.
At least, Enya hoped she was.
The Legendary Sword Saint, Enya, sat beside a wooden tub, scrubbing the undergarments soaked with her daughter’s sweat, occasionally humming a little tune.
Her leisurely appearance didn’t look at all like the mysterious powerhouse everyone was talking about in White Stone City—the one who snatched the Fragment of Divine Authority from Tulius, killed the Lord of Shadow Nightmares with a single strike, and decapitated Sylvia.
After spending half an hour, she wrung out the clothes and hung them in the backyard.
Looking at the bamboo pole filled with clothes swaying slightly in the wind, Enya, bathed in the warm sun, couldn’t help but stretch.
“I wonder when I’ll truly be able to retire.”
She walked past the vegetable garden in the backyard to the stone fence.
Behind Enya’s house was originally a meadow, beyond which lay a forest. Passing through the forest would lead toward the North Gate.
Now, tents were pitched across that meadow. The forest’s area had shrunk significantly, and a large amount of timber and stone bricks were piled there.
Seeing this, Enya whispered, “Is construction starting?”
Red Pine City needed to develop, so it had clung to Vivienne’s coattails. Vivienne also needed a station that could communicate with the Elven Kingdom.
Enya hadn’t expected that this world would develop aerospace transport first.
Originally, because of funding issues and the fact that Red Pine City’s internal state was unstable, Henna had been holding back on this project.
But after the Rebellion of the Three Viscounts, the group that had previously opposed it didn’t dare speak up anymore.
Henna had just gathered a batch of funds, and neighboring White Stone City had sent a large amount of labor. She used this momentum to begin the development of the Northern Mountains.
The employment issues of the new population and the construction of the aerospace station and the new urban district were solved simultaneously!
The area Enya was looking at used to be the exclusive hunting grounds of the Asades Family, but in the future, it would be a new urban district.
As she watched, Enya cried out in surprise, “Wait; I’m not going to become a displaced resident, am I?”
She looked back at her own exquisite little courtyard.
It happened to be right on the other side of the main road. If the new district construction really reached this road, Siya might actually become a displaced resident.
Enya changed into a simple, elegant white dress and boarded a carriage specifically sent to pick her up.
Before long, she reached her destination.
The carriage slowly came to a halt. The coachman climbed down from his seat, opened the door, and said respectfully, “Madam, we have arrived.”
Enya didn’t respond. She rose from the soft, comfortable leather seat, picked up her skirt, and stepped gracefully out of the carriage.
Before her was a beautifully landscaped courtyard. Phil had been here many times and was very familiar with it.
She tilted her head slightly and looked at the coachman.
The coachman had already retrieved her luggage, and a maid had come to greet her. The maid took the suitcase and led Enya into the courtyard.
They arrived at a glass gazebo.
A noblewoman dressed in a magnificent blue dress had been waiting there for a long time.
Enya took the suitcase from the maid and walked over slowly.
Seeing that she had brought the items, the noblewoman immediately beamed with joy and rose from her chair to greet her.
“Oh my, Madam Phil, you’ve finally arrived!”
Mrs. Pulan said this, but her eyes were fixed on the suitcase in Enya’s hand. Even as she spoke, it was as if the box were Phil’s true self.
Enya placed the small suitcase on the table.
Mrs. Pulan couldn’t wait.
She leaned in, her eyes staring intently.
When the latches were undone and the lid flipped open, the beautiful noblewoman saw those three bottles of pink potion, and her eyes sparkled with a series of excited glints.
“Thank you so much, Madam Phil. Thanks to your Vitality Potion, I was finally able to experience the feeling I had when I was young.”
Mrs. Pulan’s brows arched, and a blush, typical of one who had been well-nourished, rose to her face.
She grabbed Enya’s hand.
Beside expressing her excitement, she also asked curiously.
“By the way, what exactly is the recipe for this potion? The effect is actually so good; it’s the first time I’ve ever seen anything like it.”
“This…”
“Is it perhaps inconvenient to say?”
Mrs. Pulan’s excitement faded slightly, but she didn’t show any intention of letting go of Enya’s hand.
Enya gave a sheepish smile and said, “It’s not that… I added Dragon Saliva. Yes, Dragon Saliva.”
“Dragon Saliva?”
Mrs. Pulan was filled with confusion.
She knew what a dragon was. There were many adventurers near the Northern Mountains, and the meat of those dragon-type monsters was available to eat.
She had tasted the meat of dragon-type beasts before. Not only was the flavor strange, but it was also particularly tough. It was difficult to eat and just as difficult to digest.
But ‘saliva’ meant spit?
Put together, wasn’t that dragon spit?
A rare blush appeared on Enya’s face. Her eyes darted around for a moment, and she changed the subject before Mrs. Pulan could overthink things.
“Cough, cough. Didn’t we say we were going for a walk today? Where are the others? Haven’t they arrived yet?”
“Not yet.”
At the mention of the other two, Mrs. Pulan rolled her eyes.
She guessed that at this moment, they were still at home dressing themselves up.
She glanced at Enya, who was dressed very plainly, and found it quite strange.
When women went out, why wouldn’t they dress themselves up properly, adorned with all kinds of luxurious jewelry?
Competing for beauty was the norm for noblewomen!
But the Madam Phil before her didn’t wear a single gem. Her clothes were all black, white, or grey, and she hadn’t once been seen with vibrant makeup.
Strange, too strange!
What exactly was her identity?
Henna looked after her so much, and her two daughters were also incredibly outstanding…
Mrs. Pulan thought of that Imperial Princess.
Henna had a very good relationship with that princess. Could it be that Madam Phil also had inextricable ties to her?
From Madam Phil’s daily poise, one could see she had received an excellent education. It was very likely she was a noblewoman from the Empire.
Was it because the birth of those two daughters wasn’t recognized by her family that she changed her identity and lived in seclusion in Red Pine City?
This guess was very likely!
Right, she should try to tease some information out of her while they were walking later.
Mrs. Pulan thought of many things in an instant.
Enya, meanwhile, was focused on Mrs. Pulan’s hand. She really wanted to joke with the noblewoman in front of her: ‘We both have families; this isn’t right. You should let go quickly!’
Of course, she only thought it.
Saying it would ruin Madam Phil’s cold and elegant image.
Mrs. Pulan’s smile suddenly became bright. She stroked Enya’s hand and lowered her voice slightly, her red lips parting as she spoke.
“Your skin is truly wonderful. Is it also maintained with potions? Give me some of that potion Nora wanted. I’ll pay whatever price you ask; I can afford it!”
“This…”
Enya felt a bit awkward.
She hadn’t maintained it at all.
She had soaked in Aimee’s holy water pool for a month, and her body had been permeated by that miraculous power.
This was the result of the Blessing of the God of Nature.
