“Little Blue!”
Kaka called out, but Little Blue was clearly fine; it had only been bounced some distance away, wobbling in mid-air before swimming back to Kaka’s side.
Kaka regretfully shook his head, “It’s no good. Little Blue can’t cause much damage to something so soft.”
Su Xing thought for a moment, “Can its quills pierce the wall?”
Little Blue tried again, but unfortunately, it clearly couldn’t.
The wall remained soft, but it simply couldn’t be punctured.
Su Xing touched the wall with her hand; it instantly became hard again.
Su Xing concluded, “It seems this is one of the world’s protective measures. It should be conscious.”
Kaka asked curiously, “How do you know it’s conscious?”
Su Xing tapped the wall, “When Little Blue attacked, it automatically adjusted to a material that Little Blue couldn’t damage. And when I touched it, it turned back into a normal wall. It’s too clever to be pre-prepared.”
Evangel impatiently said, “Stop explaining, it’s getting dark.”
Su Xing looked, and indeed, it was already dark.
They had gone to the storage room after school, and it wasn’t early then, so it was normal for it to be dark now.
Su Xing remembered something and immediately walked outside, “Quick, let’s go outside and see what happens to them after dark.”
The streets at night were indeed different; there was no one outside, likely all inside their houses.
Different colored smoke drifted from the chimneys of each house, all very bright colors like red and orange.
The smoke dissipated into the air and then disappeared, as if absorbed by something.
Su Xing quickly looked at the chimney of Kaka’s room.
Sure enough, there was also colorful smoke drifting from it, but the quantity was very small, only a little bit before it stopped.
Kaka and the others naturally noticed this as well.
“What is this smoke?”
Su Xing shook her head, “There are many possibilities, but I lean towards it being emotions—happy emotions.”
Evangel nodded, “And the colors of these smokes are very similar to the colors in the painting we saw earlier.”
With just a few words, the two deduced the truth—”This painting can absorb happy emotions as pigment!”
Kaka asked confusedly, “Then sad emotions can’t be used as pigment?”
Su Xing shook her head, “No, you see, happy pigments are all bright colors, so I guess sad emotions should be dark pigments.”
“Does this painting dislike dark colors? Why doesn’t it collect sad emotions?”
Kaka asked again.
This time, Su Xing didn’t know either, “Perhaps. That depends on what the painting is thinking. Never mind that. Evangel, do you have a way to control Zero to go into those people’s rooms and take a look?”
Evangel nodded, “I can share my vision with Zero.”
She asked incredulously, “Does a Scare Ghost have this ability? And why didn’t you mention this ability when you registered? With this shared vision ability, you could at least get into the top ten on your list!”
Evangel ignored the first question and scoffed, “Is that ranking useful?”
Su Xing was silent.
Indeed, the ranking’s purpose was merely to facilitate team formation for new students.
They already had a team, so there was no need to show off.
Although being in the back might lead to being looked down upon, neither she nor Evangel, nor even Kaka, cared about it at all, which is why they acted as if nothing was wrong.
Thinking this, she no longer felt surprised and nodded, “Then go quickly. Let Zero see what state the people inside are in now.”
A white light flashed, and Evangel summoned Zero.
The small white ghost floated, passing through the wall and entering the room opposite.
Evangel closed her eyes, seemingly sharing vision with Zero.
Soon, Zero floated out, and Evangel opened her eyes, “The people inside are just sleeping, but they’re smiling, looking like they’re having beautiful dreams.”
“So, here, once it gets dark, people start sleeping and having beautiful dreams?”
Quinn suddenly spoke, “Even sleeping is happy, what a truly blissful life…”
Su Xing was a little unfamiliar with Quinn’s voice at first; since entering this place, she had barely heard Quinn speak.
But upon realizing what Quinn had said, Su Xing’s expression changed.
Her smile vanished, and she looked sternly at Quinn, “Quinn, have you fallen into some kind of delusion?”
Quinn shook her head.
Her face was already pale, so Su Xing couldn’t tell much.
“I’m fine, just a bit too tired recently.”
Su Xing hesitated, then didn’t say much more, “Then hurry and get some more rest. No one here should be calling you to wake up early.”
There was only one bed in the room. Su Xing looked at it and decisively said, “You three children sleep on the bed. I’ll spend the night on the chair.”
“How can that be?”
Kaka immediately retorted, “Su Xing, you sleep on the bed!”
Quinn also nodded, “Yeah, how can a bunch of boys let you, a girl, sleep on a chair?”
Su Xing waved her hand, already sitting down on the chair, “I’ve spent too many days sleeping on chairs and floors since I was little; one more day won’t make a difference. The three of you can perfectly fit on this bed together, it’s more efficient this way. I don’t want to wake up tomorrow morning and see three dispirited people.”
Seeing Kaka still wanting to object, Su Xing’s fox eyes narrowed, and her smile widened, “You need to understand, we are still in a perilous world within a painting. Being in low spirits won’t just put you in danger, it could also cost our companions’ lives.”
The two knew Su Xing was right, but psychologically, they couldn’t accept Su Xing sleeping alone on a chair.
Su Xing helplessly pointed behind them, “Look, Evangel is already asleep.”
The two looked, and sure enough.
Evangel had already taken off her shoes and was sleeping on the bed, not bothering with them at all.
She was a killer by nature, and naturally understood the importance of rest.
Su Xing’s plan was indeed the best, and she also knew that Su Xing didn’t care about these things at all, so she naturally wouldn’t argue with her.
She didn’t differentiate between men and women like that.
Seeing this, Kaka and the other reluctantly got onto the bed.
Kaka seriously said, “I don’t know what kind of life you lived before, but with us here, we won’t let you live like that again. This time you take care of us, next time it will definitely be us taking care of you.”
Su Xing smiled and nodded, “Mhm, don’t worry, we’ll have plenty more days of bothering each other in the future!”
The night passed without a word.
When Su Xing woke up the next day, she was back in the same scene as yesterday—
In the world of ice and snow, Kaka grabbed her hand, “Wow! We’ve all entered Spirit Realm Academy! We’re all amazing!”
Su Xing once again felt that joy, and this joy seemed even stronger than yesterday.
Even she couldn’t help but think, “If only I could always be this happy.”
When she was genuinely smiling on the snowy ground back then, she did wish for time to stay in that moment, but Su Xing knew she wouldn’t truly stay.
Now, suddenly having this thought was because this extremely realistic joyful emotion was affecting her, making her feel as if she were truly back in that snowy plain.
After finally finishing the spin, Su Xing thought it should be over.
She had to leave this damned place quickly, otherwise, who knows, she might end up like those trapped people.
However, what she didn’t expect was that this fragment wasn’t the end; in a blink, she arrived at a new fragment.
This was inside a car.
Winx sat in front, with Kaka and the others beside him. S
Winx said gently, “Finally, regarding your rewards. The underground base was discovered entirely by the four of you, and solved entirely by you. So, there’s an honorary citizen title, and the bonus is 100,000 Pibi per person. Su Xing receives an additional 50,000, because you controlled Keno.”
So, it was this memory, Su Xing understood.
Immediately, she once again felt the ecstasy of money falling from the sky.
150,000 Pibi!
That was 150,000!
She hadn’t earned that much money in her first fifteen years, and she got it all at once!
The Federation and the school were too good!
Wouldn’t she become rich immediately?
150,000 Pibi, first buy a house, she had to have a house of her own.
Then…
Wait?
Su Xing suddenly startled awake!
What was she doing?
Wasn’t this a memory created by the world within the painting?
How did she actually get trapped?
As soon as she snapped back to reality, the surrounding scenery dissolved, and she found herself back on the chair in the small house.
Su Xing’s face was very grim; she had realized the seriousness of the problem.
The first day was one memory, the second day became two.
If this continued, all her time would certainly be occupied by memories until she was completely immersed in them.
And the power of these memories was clearly growing stronger!
Even though she shouldn’t have been able to get lost in them at all, she was forcibly dragged in by that joyful emotion.
This feeling was truly unpleasant.
She had to leave this damned place as soon as possible.
Su Xing remembered yesterday’s plan and immediately turned to look at everyone.
All three of them were smiling.
Su Xing first walked beside Evangel; she just had a slight, inconspicuous smile.
Before Evangel was only a faint human silhouette, but she seemed completely unaware, thinking it was a real person, and was saying something to this silhouette.
Su Xing leaned closer and heard her say, “One million, is that right? Help me donate it.”
She looked at Evangel incredulously, then at the silhouette opposite, suddenly feeling mocked.
While she was ecstatic about receiving a 150,000 Pibi bonus, so much so that the illusion used it to lure her in, the reason this person was happy was because she donated one million Pibi?
No way?
It can’t be?
It won’t be?
The unit of one million she mentioned definitely isn’t Pibi, but some other cheap item, right?
