“There’s also the Star-Absorbing Grand Technique.”
“Why is it that in these shows, every villain’s ability is more twisted than the last?”
“Your ability: controlling air currents. Your enemy’s abilities: absorbing and decomposing Star Energy, and… controlling electricity()”
“An excellent matching mechanism.”
“So be it, eliminate him. This city is in complete chaos now. We need to leave, quickly.”
The youth spoke slowly.
The blacklight on his body had receded to his waist.
And from his words, it seemed that he and Zong Yilang were the true culprits behind the chaos in Giant Stone City.
This revelation truly shocked Kaos.
The mission had barely started for two days, and he had just managed to grasp a rough idea of this planet’s situation.
Yet the other side had already reunited with their companions and begun their plan?
And from what they said, it sounded like they had joined a faction opposing the Green Elves, working for them.
Their efficiency was simply terrifying!
Seeing the youth walk over, apparently about to take his wristwatch and make him “voluntarily eliminated,” Kaos suddenly stirred the air currents in the alley, conjuring a mist thick enough to shroud all vision.
Then he climbed to his feet, gritting his teeth against the pain, and bolted toward the end of the alley.
On the eve of the Final Examination, Lin Zhen had spoken with them, instructing them to remain on the planet no matter what happened.
Even if the mission saw no progress at all, they were to wait until everyone had assembled.
Kaos didn’t know what Lin Zhen was planning, but he knew that anything mentioned with such gravity must be important.
So, he absolutely could not allow himself to be eliminated here!
In a few quick strides, Kaos dashed out of the alley, a flash of white light signaling his transformation into the form of another Green Elf.
The youth and Zong Yilang cursed in anger and chased after him.
But Kaos had only run a few steps before suddenly coming to a halt.
The group of rebels from the Root Layer appeared ahead, thousands strong and armed to the teeth, surging forward in a menacing wave.
Sand flew, stones tumbled, the earth shook—the commotion was terrifying.
The youth and Zong Yilang exchanged glances and retreated into the alley, morphing into the forms of Huang Elves as they emerged.
They shouted loudly, “He’s the enemy! Get him!”
“What clever villains.”
“Ha! Even the jailers are getting frustrated.”
“Is the jailer going to be eliminated here and then unable to escape?”
Kaos cursed under his breath, ignoring whether his human identity would be revealed, and prepared to ride the air currents upward to the Trunk Layer.
But just then—
The sounds of bodies collapsing echoed in rapid succession.
Kaos stared in shock as the rebel crowd fell like crops in a field—row after row, all collapsing—until, in the blink of an eye, only the three of them were left standing.
The youth and Zong Yilang had no idea what was happening.
But they understood at once: if this was the work of a single person, then that individual’s strength was beyond imagining.
Their expressions turned grave as they glanced around.
Very soon, they spotted a green silhouette floating beneath the sun, her figure almost swallowed by the glare.
She walked step by step, treading on air.
Her green skin flickered, like a faulty flashlight blinking on and off.
At last, the green faded away entirely, revealing her true appearance.
Blue hair, red eyes, long hair cascading to her waist, a delicate and adorable face—yet carrying a chill and a fierce edge.
“It’s her!!!”
“She’s here! Always so punctual with her entrances.”
“Why does Ganyuoxi always time her appearances so perfectly—couldn’t possibly be a coincidence, right?”
“Ganyuoxi: I don’t know, it’s just how the script goes.”
“Ganyuoxi! I love Ganyuoxi!”
“Phantom King’s Conqueror’s Aura!”
“Xiao Xi!”
Kaos was overjoyed, while the youth and Zong Yilang realized at once that a true powerhouse from the enemy camp had arrived.
Exchanging a quick glance, they immediately prepared to retreat.
Anyone who could subdue thousands of trainees in an instant was not someone they could hope to oppose.
“Trying to run?” The girl in the sky narrowed her eyes, a murderous glint flickering across her gaze as she clenched her right fist.
A terrifying wave of Telekinesis surged forth like a tsunami, rushing towards the two of them.
In a heartbeat, it swept around them.
Zong Yilang sensed the danger and tried to resist.
Electric arcs burst all over his body, shredding the tendrils of Telekinesis that had tried to restrain him in an instant.
But the very next second, more hands of Telekinesis surged forth.
Some of it even flowed through his nostrils and mouth, entering his body from within.
Forcing against him from the inside out, locking him in place where he stood.
The other youth, meanwhile, was enveloped in blacklight.
Just as Kaos had sensed, this blacklight could indeed absorb everything in the environment and break it down into Star Energy.
So the instant the Telekinesis attacked, his ability decomposed it, transforming it into pure Telekinesis that he then absorbed.
Seeing this, even Yun Ruoxi’s face showed a trace of genuine surprise.
It’s him?
Such a monstrous ability—and during the Final Examination…Only one person came to mind.
The third-ranked trainee of Pandora-32 War Camp.
The one known as Blacklight.
In the original plot,
Blacklight was the life-and-death adversary who blocked the main team in episode twelve, bringing them enormous trouble.
But to think—this was only the latter half of episode ten, and Kaos had already run into him.
Wait.
Kaos came here, actually, because of her.
So in the end, it was her Butterfly Effect that caused such a dramatic change in the Final Examination storyline, bringing Blacklight’s appearance forward by a whole episode.
Fortunately, she arrived in time—otherwise, Kaos would have been in real danger.
“What pure Star Energy!” The black radiance on the youth’s body intensified, a flash of shock in his eyes.
But the shock quickly turned to wild delight.
He gazed greedily at the girl in the sky, his voice low and rough:
“You’re strong, but my ability just happens to counter yours! Become the stepping stone for my evolution!”
“Oh?” The girl sneered, her voice cold as she replied: “You can decompose energy attacks and absorb them as Star Energy? Not a bad battery—let’s see whether your capacity is greater, or my Star Energy is more abundant.”
With that, she gave a low shout, pressing both hands toward the youth.
Waves of Telekinesis surged from her, transforming into all manner of attacks and hurtling toward the youth.
But without exception, they were all absorbed and neutralized.
“Good! Hahahaha!” The youth laughed wildly, the blacklight around him almost solidifying, dripping from his body in viscous black liquid.
“Is that you, Venom?”
“This ability is honestly a little twisted.”
“Another mechanics freak.”
“Ganyuoxi loves fighting mechanics freaks the most.”
“Ganyuoxi says nothing, just keeps outputting Star Energy.”
Yun Ruoxi knew perfectly well that battling Blacklight was going to be a war of attrition.
His ability to absorb Star Energy wasn’t limitless, nor could he directly convert it all into his own Star Energy.
All she needed to do was push more Star Energy than he could handle, force-feeding him until he burst.
So she couldn’t be bothered to speak, focusing solely on Star Energy output.
But Kaos misunderstood her demeanor.
After all, he had never seen Yun Ruoxi’s brows knit so tightly before.
He instinctively thought Yun Ruoxi was locked in a hard battle, and despite the pain, prepared to leap in and help.
