If Huang Yi were the one to decide Green Field’s fate, he would certainly be bold enough to strike the killing blow.
However, before taking such drastic measures, Huang Yi would give Green Field a chance to reform. But he knew that Green Field was absolutely incapable of changing. The ultimate outcome would undoubtedly be her death.
Therefore, Huang Yi did not make the decision himself. Instead, he left it to the people at the Countermeasure Center, or to the trio of sisters—Gold, Silver, and Red.
The Countermeasure Center had already reached a decision, as previously mentioned.
But what decision did Yin Lin want to make?
Looking at the empty chat box on his phone, he had already waited for a minute without receiving a reply from her. Huang Yi already knew what she was thinking.
In his office, Huang Yi looked over Green Field’s files once more, even though he had already read them twice.
According to the data, Green Field never killed monsters, and she never killed humans. This wasn’t out of kindness, but out of a total lack of interest. Green Field only attacked magical girls, and even then, it was just harassment—committing some indecent acts, but beyond that, she displayed no other dangerous behavior.
He had a faint feeling that this girl had guessed the bottom line of the alliance between the magical girls and humans; she was, for the time being, a clever person. Because she never crossed the line into true villainy, almost no magical girls were willing to deal a fatal blow to her, though they found her incredibly annoying.
Huang Yi thought of two people.
The number one most wanted, Black Phoenix; she had a foul temper and would definitely kill Green Field. Then there was the number three, Jin Luan; her temper had a threshold, and if pushed past that limit, she might kill Green Field as well.
These were the findings discussed by several experts at the Countermeasure Center.
The Witch Faction generally did not attack magical girls, yet Green Field’s presence restricted the movements of the three sisters. If they wanted to kill Green Field, they would have to utilize Yin Lin and Jin Luan.
According to investigations, Jin Luan and Yin Lin might have an improper, “more than friends” relationship. For Yin Lin’s sake, Jin Luan might exceed her threshold and kill Green Field.
This point seemed exploitable.
Huang Yi flipped to the end of the file, contemplating the feasibility of this plan. At this moment, he looked somewhat cold and terrifying.
After a long while, his gaze gradually softened, and his thoughts drifted away from the matter. His phone vibrated; it was a message from Yin Lin.
Yin Lin: [If it were your Witch Faction, how would you handle Green Field?]
Huang Yi: [The faction plans to catch her and give her a beating.]
Yin Lin: [And you?]
Huang Yi: [Hard to say. For today and tomorrow, my preferred solution is to take her out. These two days are too important; she can’t be allowed to cause trouble. If it’s after the day after tomorrow, my thoughts align with the faction.]
Yin Lin: [Fine. I’ll leave this matter to you to handle. I’ll focus on watching the square.]
Huang Yi: [Alright.]
The problem of power was settled just like that. Song Wuli chose to escape, not wanting to face Green Field.
It wasn’t a shameful act. Humans were social creatures, capable of supplementing their weaknesses with others’ strengths and taking what they needed.
Boundary Company faced the risk of monster harassment, and that risk needed to be addressed. Therefore, the people of Yiri City needed to pay taxes so that those skilled in handling such matters could deal with it. Projects at Boundary Company required copywriters; the chairman couldn’t write everything himself, so they hired people who knew how to do it.
Song Wuli’s choice was the same.
Since he was a bit weak when facing Green Field, he would let the professionals who could actually pull the trigger handle her—specifically, Huang Yi’s Eastern League.
However, Old Song didn’t realize that Huang Yi was currently plotting against Yin Lin and Jin Luan.

In the evening, the members of Copywriting Group Two left work almost exactly on time. Even Greta left, looking preoccupied.
Old Song stayed for an extra half hour of overtime, leaving only after the sky had darkened.
This time, he didn’t go straight home. Instead, he transformed into a magical girl and headed toward Jin Luan’s small shack atop the skyscraper.
When he arrived, Jin Luan and Huan Hong were already there. It wasn’t that Yin Lin was late, but rather that they had arrived early before the appointed time.
This was a special gathering—they were going to have hotpot together.
Eating hotpot in the summer was certainly an interesting choice. Perhaps it was because they had been magical girls for so long that they were used to a free-spirited lifestyle, eating whatever they wanted regardless of the season.
Jin Luan had started preparing an hour early. She had brought out an outdoor pot and stove, along with plenty of ingredients. She was still peeling vegetables and prepping meat, which would take another ten minutes.
The reason Huan Hong had arrived early was to stay close to Jin Luan and prevent an attack from Green Field. Consequently, she wasn’t helping with the work; instead, she was scrolling through fitness videos on her phone with one hand while lifting a heavy dumbbell with the other to train her arm.
After Yin Lin arrived, she greeted them and then went to help Jin Luan peel vegetable leaves.
They finished in a few minutes and then began to eat.
It was a strange dinner—a small shack built on a skyscraper that pierced the clouds, with tables and chairs set out for a meal. Not far away was a low railing; one careless step could lead to a long fall.
It was quite terrifying.
And yet, they chatted and laughed while eating their hotpot.
Huan Hong, at least, ate to her heart’s content. It was her first time having shark and whale meat in a hotpot. Although the texture was just average, she felt a great sense of achievement. She even took several photos to save.
As for the red wine and drinks set aside, they all looked quite expensive.
Yin Lin brought up the serious business first. “Everyone knows about tomorrow, right?”
Huan Hong nodded, blowing on a piece of hot fish before slowly eating it.
Jin Luan pointedly set down her chopsticks and sat up straight before speaking. “The people from the Eastern League said there will be a one-day truce. They won’t attack us tomorrow. They said they need us to maintain order at the square and be responsible for handling any monsters that might appear at any time.”
Huan Hong nodded again; she knew about this.
Jin Luan continued, “Tomorrow, the two of us will be responsible for dealing with mid-level and low-level monsters. If we encounter high-level monsters or executive-level monsters, our job is to stall them. No problems there, right?”
She was looking at Huan Hong. Huan Hong nodded, understanding. Although she felt a bit dejected, she knew her strength was limited and she could only handle the mid and low-level threats.
Jin Luan went on, “There is one more very important thing. If… and I mean if… in the event that humans collude with monsters and attack us alongside them… we might need to… deal with humans. You need to be mentally prepared for that.”
“Eh?” Huan Hong was caught off guard by this. “Humans? Our enemies will be humans?”
Jin Luan replied, “I’m just saying it’s a possibility, because the previous monsters showed signs of being manipulated by high-intelligence lifeforms. Although they use a strange term like ‘high-intelligence lifeforms,’ it actually refers to humans.”
Huan Hong fell into deep thought, not daring to answer. Having to kill another person was something she truly wasn’t mentally prepared for.
Yin Lin, on the other hand, simply nodded. she had known about this for a long time. There was a fifty-percent chance she would be able to go through with it.
Jin Luan concluded, “Finally, there is the matter of Green Field. She is also a mountain we cannot bypass.”
