If any other Magical Girl were here, they would not have been able to achieve what Luo Shuangyue had.
Right now, she was arguably the strongest person under only one other, a fact that held true in both worlds.
She had never fought her own mother, so she was not entirely sure how her strength compared, but Little Butterfly had previously used this body to battle the Holy Sovereign.
If she had not later managed to control the evil intent on a soul level, the outcome of that battle between her and the Holy Sovereign would have been difficult to predict.
Only when thinking of this did Luo Shuangyue realize just how powerful she had become—strong enough to even touch the heels of her parents, whom she had always viewed as gods.
But even with such immense power, it was still not enough to tip the dangerous scales.
At the end of the day, she still had not surpassed her father and mother.
Furthermore, White Night and the Holy Sovereign were the two individuals most cherished by the World Consciousness. In other words, they were the favorite daughters.
If these two mothers were no longer listening to their own daughters, why would they listen to her? Those two World Consciousnesses likely would not extend their favorable attitude toward their favored daughters to her, their granddaughter.
After all, to them, blood relations held no real meaning.
What they valued were the individuals White Night and the Holy Sovereign, not their bloodlines. Luo Shuangyue would not dream of relying on her parents’ status to solve the current crisis.
‘It’s already very close… Yi’s magic circle is indeed much better than mine. To reach such a great distance in less than one day…’
The guidance within Luo Shuangyue’s consciousness became increasingly clear.
She could even feel the beacon she had left behind right in front of her.
From the moment she began extending the channel to her arrival at the destination, less than one day had passed. This was a result she had never dared to imagine before.
She had originally thought she would need to spend a significant amount of time just to reach this place.
‘Or perhaps it’s because this journey wasn’t purely about a long distance, but a leap between two spaces?’
In the past, the goal of the Starlight Tunnel was to build a path that allowed Magical Girls to travel quickly around the Mother Star.
Both the entrance and exit were within the same world, so the length could be measured by distance.
But the Starlight Tunnel this time was different.
When its goal was to break through the world and reach that Broken Land, physical distance lost its meaning.
It was not a concept that could be described by length; it was more like a transformation between spatial coordinates.
What Luo Shuangyue had just been doing was not extending a tunnel, but precisely identifying the coordinates of her intended destination.
Now, Luo Shuangyue had found that exact coordinate and opened a channel that could directly communicate between the two worlds.
Light transformed into a grand gate. Luo Shuangyue stepped inside confidently, and in the next moment, she saw that familiar, gloomy landscape.
And then, a black tide rushing toward her like a literal wave.
Luo Shuangyue suddenly realized she might have arrived at an inopportune time.
This place was not always as peaceful as it had been during her last visit.
In fact, chaos and combat were the norms here.
The last time she had been able to chat quietly with White Night for so long was because White Night had just finished a clearing of the Path Creatures, killing all the disobedient ones.
Now, those disobedient Path Creatures had resurrected, becoming even more frenzied and mindless. Naturally, the battle had resumed.
Brilliant white Sword Light fell from the sky, each stroke completely annihilating countless black monsters back into a state of Demonic Energy.
These clouds of energy would eventually reform into monsters after a period of reconsolidation, but for now, they had lost the ability to resist.
Luo Shuangyue looked up at White Night, who hovered in mid-air like a deity, continuously swinging her sword.
For the first time, she gained a clear understanding of her mother’s combat strength.
If one spoke purely of combat power, White Night was perhaps even stronger than the Holy Sovereign.
Before her sword, not a single black Path Creature could be spared.
Even that one incredibly massive creature emitting a terrifying aura could only howl as it was dismantled bit by bit in front of that pure white radiance.
‘The numbers are too many… The situation is exactly as Mom said. It’s a bit grim.’ After watching for a short while, Luo Shuangyue keenly sensed the hidden danger within this one-sided battle.
Her mother could indeed mow down these monsters like grass right now, but the price for doing so was the continuous depletion of her power.
And for the monsters, death was not a cost; it was not even a bad thing.
Death caused their consciousnesses to become chaotic and mixed, instinctively devouring other clouds of black mist to form a larger, more powerful composite entity.
It was just like the birth process of Phantom Scythe; weak monsters would stack up bit by bit until they reached a point of qualitative change.
On that day, White Night would no longer be able to defeat them so easily.
She would need to expend even more effort to kill those evolved monsters, which would accelerate her reaching her limit.
The Path Creatures grew stronger with every death, while White Night grew weaker with every battle. With one increasing and the other decreasing, the turning point between strength and weakness would arrive very soon.
This was likely the reason for the one-month time limit.
Despite the battle still being one-sided, the situation would reverse in one month. Luo Shuangyue still felt that this was a bit too fast.
However, she did not have much time to focus on that. She was currently standing in a sea of Path Creatures.
Although her aura caused the monsters to recognize her as one of their own, this led to an awkward problem: White Night treated her as an enemy.
Or rather, because she was mixed in with such a massive horde of Path Creatures, the overwhelming Demonic Energy completely suppressed Luo Shuangyue’s aura.
White Night had no idea her eldest daughter was currently in the middle of the charging army of Path Creatures.
Her method for dealing with these weak Path Creatures was simple: a casual swing of the sword.
In her battle against the massive Path Creature, she could not spare too much focus for other things.
So, when she sensed that the monsters had broken through the warning line, she unhesitatingly swung her sword at the small fry.
The white light, appearing as if it could divide heaven and earth, instantly crushed the monsters at the front.
These vanguards could not even manage to weaken the white light.
This left Luo Shuangyue quite helpless.
If she did nothing, she feared she would be cut down directly by this Sword Light.
Driven by necessity, she had to call upon her own Demonic Energy, casting a Barrier in front of her at top speed, hoping to block her mother’s strike.
As the Barrier formed, a sudden mutation occurred.
The black currents that had been pulverized by the white Sword Light seemed to have found a new point of focus.
They lunged desperately toward the Barrier Luo Shuangyue had released, and in the blink of an eye, they piled a thick layer onto the shield.
Before Luo Shuangyue could drive away this uninvited black mist, the white Sword Light descended upon her Barrier.
She was forced to abandon her original plan to resist the strike.
The black mist on the Barrier constantly condensed into solid matter and was repeatedly dissolved by the white Sword Light.
It seemed they were not a match for even a single strike, yet they still had their own way of winning.
Just as the monsters could not match White Night in individual strength but could grind her down through endless numbers, the black mist left behind after their deaths could do the same.
Originally, they would have gradually reverted to their monster forms under instinct after the entity they formed died.
But the situation was different now; they had found a better choice than returning to a monster state.
The monsters besieging White Night were essentially beings whose consciousness was extremely chaotic.
They had lost the self-awareness common to most living things; only a lingering obsession drove their actions.
Now, they realized their own weakness and discovered that if they offered their power to that powerful being, their obsession could be fulfilled faster.
Thus, the black mist swarmed over, throwing themselves onto Luo Shuangyue’s Barrier one after another, using their own bodies to block the attack for her.
‘This is almost a bit too loyal…’ Seeing this, Luo Shuangyue did not know what to say.
While she was moved by the monsters’ voluntary sacrifice, was there a possibility that they weren’t actually on the same side?
‘I’m actually an undercover agent!’
The monsters waved their hands, figuratively speaking, saying how could you be an undercover agent? Your aura is even stronger and purer than that of the largest monster over there, and we can even feel the terrifying rage hidden deep within your soul. Could an undercover agent have that?
Since when was the Boss of an organization an undercover agent!
The waves of monsters blocked the Sword Light.
White Night’s strike failed to achieve its perfect goal, only managing to eliminate four-fifths of the monster army where Luo Shuangyue stood.
In the end, the black mist that had been continually surging and dissolving also exhausted its power, reverting to a drifting state of suspended animation to recover.
Those Path Creatures that still had physical bodies took over the relay, using their bodies and the aura left after death to continue making their meager contributions to their chosen Boss.
White Night’s attack was enough to wipe out a demon army with scattered power, but when the power of that army was no longer scattered, her casual strike would not be very effective.
And Luo Shuangyue was a beacon that could make the demons unite just by standing there.
What happened here naturally caught White Night’s attention.
She had thought her swing would easily topple these monsters, but it had actually been blocked? She turned her head and looked clearly this time.
It turned out it wasn’t that the monsters had become more powerful, but that someone was leading them in resistance.
If this were any other time, White Night would have already delivered a serious sword strike.
Unfortunately, this was not a normal time, and that person was not someone she could just cut down.
Being glared at from such a distance by her mother with a resentful look made Luo Shuangyue feel like her skin was crawling.
