Clara slept for one night.
Clara the Moon Rabbit also slept for one night.
Clara woke up in Sista’s comfortable embrace.
The Moon Rabbit Clara, however, woke up surrounded by the Moon Rabbit rebels, a scene practically comparable to a harem.
It was quite comfortable, just a bit smelly.
“Jijiu?!”
She didn’t know if these guys hadn’t slept at all, but the moment she woke up and before she could even move, they pressed their pink noses against her, sniffing all over.
‘If I could wash them a bit cleaner, it might be a nice soul-healing experience, like a cat cafe.’
The basement door was unlocked; it was even left ajar as if in mockery.
‘Try to escape if you can.’
Clara felt as if she could hear Blue Cavalier whispering that in her ear.
But because of her continuous command, the Moon Rabbits could not leave this place.
Clara had also tried to flee the basement, but her body would not move whenever she reached the door.
Her body was defying her own will.
Though for a Moon Rabbit, “own will” was a bug in itself.
The execution time would not be far off. Clara only hoped that her other self could make it in time, even though Fran had said the resort’s equipment was rudimentary and not to get her hopes up…
—
But one still had to have hope; what if it came true?
As for the Moon Rabbit side, she had to find a way to stall for time.
Just as Clara was thinking this, the door that had been ajar was pushed open, and Blue Cavalier walked in, leading several rabbit soldiers.
She was still wearing that outfit that looked like a resort uniform, but on closer inspection, the jacket and shirt had been partially modified, and her lower half was clad in a narrow uniform skirt like the one Labi wore.
However, her figure was slightly thin. While she was not as slender as Sista, the uniform still felt a bit loose on her. Especially the narrow skirt; it did not have that tight, form-fitting feel that Miss Labi’s had which highlighted her curves.
For a perfect female figure, thinner was not always better.
She looked around the basement to count the Moon Rabbits, and after confirming that none had escaped, she knocked on the doorframe with a cold face.
“Get ready for the execution grounds! You criminal rabbits!”
Wait, so soon? Was it not just morning?
Although morning still counted as the early part of the day, Nyx was still discussing details and feasibility with Fran. If the public execution happened now, they definitely would not make it. Blue Cavalier was really in an impatient rush.
For the Moon Rabbit Clara, her own death did not matter much, but she had to at least find a way for the seven Moon Rabbit rebels behind her to survive…
—
“Jijiu! Jijiu!!”
Clara spread her arms again, blocking the Moon Rabbits while crying out loudly. She pointed at the Moon Rabbits, then at the room, then at herself, and finally pointed outside.
She wanted to express…
That she would go to the execution grounds with her in exchange for a chance for these Moon Rabbits to live.
It was unclear if she understood, but Blue Cavalier did not react.
In her view, the Moon Rabbit rebels had clearly been influenced by the rebel. Even if only to pull the problem out by the roots, she had to execute them all…
—
Seeing Blue Cavalier remain unmoved, Clara ran to her legs and hugged her calf, pleading with her eyes.
She was acting cute, hoping to soften the other person’s heart.
Instead, she was met with a foot that kicked her toward the wall.
*Jiu — *
The Moon Rabbit Clara hit her spine and twitched involuntarily on the ground.
Blue Cavalier showed no mercy despite her cuteness. Afterward, she even wiped her sleeve across the calf Clara had hugged with a look of disgust, pricking up her ears to curse, “Don’t touch me, you filthy criminal rabbit!”
‘This person is so hard to communicate with, and her personality is terrible.’
The surrounding Moon Rabbit rebels ran to Clara’s side, trying to help her up from the floor, but Blue Cavalier directed her rabbit soldiers.
“Go, seize all these guilty rabbits and take them to the Rabbit Hole for public display. Everyone must deeply understand what happens when they defy her will.”
I see…
It was not about taking them out for an immediate execution but for a public display first, which was why she had come so early.
Wait, since it was meant to serve as a warning to the others, would she broadcast her crimes to the present Moon Rabbits through the hive mind?
Well, if that was the case, it might be something she could use.
Although the Moon Rabbit Combat Body was constantly feeding back pain, it did not affect Clara’s thinking at all.
Her tolerance for pain was very high; after all, during her years as a mob Mutant, her specific job description was getting beaten up.
The burly rabbit soldiers grabbed Clara and the Moon Rabbits by their ears, one in each hand, and carried them off. They followed Blue Cavalier out of the basement and down the tunnel to the Moon Rabbits’ nest.
The center of the Rabbit Hole was a subterranean cavern tall enough for the burly rabbit soldiers to stand upright. In front of the stone platform where the giant worker rabbit lay, eight large iron pillars had already been erected in a circle. The Moon Rabbit rebels, including Clara, were tied up and hung from them by the rabbit soldiers.
‘They aren’t planning to burn me, are they? Is this a witch hunt?’
It was dark inside the Rabbit Hole, but there was still light.
To provide illumination, simple oil lamps hung on the rock walls.
She had seen them before in the undersea cave, and they seemed quite common among the Moon Rabbits. Those were not items from the resort; an advanced lunar resort could not possibly use such primitive lighting methods. So, there was only one possibility…
These were things made by the Moon Rabbits.
The oil burning in the lamps might not be kerosene, and it was unknown where they had obtained it.
Blue Cavalier stood in front of the hanging Clara but with her back to her, facing the busy yet curious Moon Rabbits in the hole.
She seemed to be waiting for the right moment to announce Clara’s crimes to the Moon Rabbits.
“Jijiu?!”
However, a passing Moon Rabbit seemed to recognize Clara. It walked to Blue Cavalier’s side and looked up, letting out a cry.
Before this, Moon Rabbits did not have a concept of “crime and punishment.” Whether they were caught running away or slacking off, they had never been punished before. Thus, the Moon Rabbit before her clearly did not understand why Clara was being hung up.
Clara remembered.
This guy was the passerby Moon Rabbit she had first encountered.
“You over there, do you know this criminal rabbit?” Blue Cavalier asked.
The Moon Rabbit could not understand human speech, and Blue Cavalier probably did not know Clara’s true identity either. After all, what one did not know before reincarnating, one would not know after. Yet, she always spoke out loud like this.
‘Could she actually be some kind of histrionic personality?’
*Zhijiu — *
Clara tried to drive away the passerby Moon Rabbit with a cry, but the latter did not realize the danger at all. It did not even know Clara was being hung up for execution.
“Jiyo?”
Then…
“I see. You are also a potential unstable factor, a spark of rebellion.”
Saying this, Blue Cavalier gestured to the rabbit soldiers nearby.
“Hang this rabbit up as well.”
“Jijiu?!”
‘This woman is too unreasonable!’
