The space inside the borrowed black sedan was not spacious.
Mu Yingying’s teasing voice echoed throughout the car.
The windows were covered with dark privacy film, cutting off the night scenery and the smell of blood from the outside.
Inside the cabin, only the dashboard emitted a faint, eerie glow.
“Haa…”
Su Shuang’er’s rapid breathing came from the back seat.
White Night’s soul was nestled within the bike frame, feeling a wave of heat emanating from Su Shuang’er’s body.
‘Auntie Frost… are you okay?’
‘Is the side effect acting up again?’
White Night felt a twinge of worry.
To blast through that wall earlier, Su Shuang’er had overexerted her physical strength and borrowed the power of the Butterfly Knot. This had resulted in a violent backlash from her Side Effect.
“Oh, look at that big booty. Can’t hold it in anymore, can you?”
In the driver’s seat, Mu Yingying had entered “trash-talk mode” because she had lost a coin toss. She skillfully handled the steering wheel while grinning mischievously through the rearview mirror.
“I can see your face turning so red it looks like it’s about to drip blood. It’s fine, there are no outsiders here, and this car has great soundproofing. I promise to focus on driving and won’t peek… at most, I’ll just listen to the show.”
“You… shameless woman… shut up.”
Su Shuang’er gritted her teeth, her voice soft and lacking any real sting. She truly lacked the strength to bicker with Mu Yingying. The dry heat within her body was making her lose her composure.
“White Night… let Auntie hold you…”
Su Shuang’er murmured, her body wrapping tightly around White Night’s cold frame.
‘Ngh.’
White Night’s soul shuddered.
They were pressed far too close together. Su Shuang’er’s sweat-beaded cheek was pressed against the crossbar. Her arms tightly encircled the handlebars and the seat, the weight of her entire upper body pressing down.
Even through the professional office skirt, White Night could feel Auntie Frost’s heartbeat, along with her softness and elasticity.
‘I’m just a bicycle… why does this feel more intense than having a physical body?’
White Night felt as though the bike frame itself was beginning to run hot.
From the front, Mu Yingying listened to the commotion, her eyes constantly widening as she peeked at the rearview mirror like a 1.9-meter-tall curious baby.
After an unknown amount of time, the temperature in the cabin finally cooled, and the side effects receded.
Su Shuang’er regained some of her strength and sat up with a flushed face, pulling out a handkerchief. Using the dim light, she gently wiped down White Night’s frame.
“I’ve made things difficult for you, Little White Night.”
Su Shuang’er’s voice was filled with apology.
‘It’s not difficult, Auntie Frost. As long as you feel better.’
White Night responded obediently in her mind.
“What about me? What about me?” Mu Yingying chimed in.
After finishing with the bike, Su Shuang’er looked up and shot Mu Yingying a sharp glare through the mirror.
“Damn it, Yingying, focus on your driving. If you ever call me those three words again, I’ll use my Alloy Gauntlets to turn you into meat paste.”
“And if you peek again, I’ll gouge out those big eyes of yours.”
“Yes, yes, President Su is right. I stand corrected.”
Mu Yingying chuckled and shrugged, knowing the great President Su was just feeling shy.
“Yingying, White Night and I don’t need to keep watch tonight,” Su Shuang’er said, rolling down the window to look at the convoy resting outside.
“True, everyone is exhausted today,” Mu Yingying agreed.
Su Shuang’er leaned back against the seat, reaching out to rest her hand on White Night’s seat.
“Besides, Wang Ziming’s people are all outside; they’ll be on lookout. We’ll lock the doors and get a good night’s sleep.”
‘Alright, I’m going into idle sleep mode as well. Goodnight, Aunties.’
White Night was also tired, and her soul retreated deep into the System. Inside this small metal shell, the three of them—and the bike—soon fell into a deep slumber.
The next morning, sunlight spilled through the windows and into the cabin.
“Mmm…”
Su Shuang’er opened her eyes and stretched, feeling refreshed.
Although her pencil skirt was a bit wrinkled from the previous night’s tossing, she cleared her throat and straightened it out.
Mu Yingying also woke up in the front seat. She stretched her long legs, and with a loud thud, nearly kicked the windshield.
“Another day of being alive.”
Mu Yingying grinned, and the two women shared a look.
The convoy set out once more.
Visibility in the Wilderness was good during the day, and most of those monsters stayed hidden. Along the way, scattered refugees saw the convoy of heavy trucks and off-road vehicles and begged to join.
Wang Ziming did not refuse them. He even proactively had his subordinates distribute a little clean water.
“Everyone, stay close to the convoy! Our destination is Spark City. Once we reach it, the high walls and the military will protect us. Everyone will be safe!”
Wang Ziming stood on top of an off-road vehicle, shouting through a megaphone.
The newly joined survivors listened with tears in their eyes, all believing Wang Ziming was a great man. Soon, the original team of eleven people grew to more than fifty.
By midday, Wang Ziming directed the convoy into a remote, Abandoned Town.
“We will rest here for 2 hours. Everyone can scatter to scavenge for supplies.”
As the command was given, the survivors flooded into the ruins of the town.
Su Shuang’er and Mu Yingying did not go to fight over the convenience stores. Instead, they pushed White Night toward a large estate deep within the town.
“We can’t keep riding this bike, or White Night will fall apart. We need to find a more spacious vehicle to carry her,” Mu Yingying said, looking around as they walked.
Soon, the two of them discovered a dust-covered black heavy SUV inside a partially collapsed garage.
“The space is big enough. It’s perfect.”
Just as they approached the driver’s side to look for keys, there was a sudden, loud crash.
The window glass shattered, and a Zombie wearing a suit lunged out in a frenzy.
Its skin was a grayish-blue, its mouth was filled with dark-brown slime, and it opened its fanged maw to bite Su Shuang’er, who was in the lead.
“Ah!”
The suddenness caused Su Shuang’er to gasp, but her reflexes were fast.
Her gaze turned sharp. Without dodging, she swung her right arm—equipped with an Alloy Fighting Gauntlet—directly at the creature, bringing a gust of wind with it.
Puch.
With a dull thud, the Zombie’s head instantly exploded. Filth mixed with black blood splattered everywhere.
The headless corpse slumped to the ground.
The moment the body fell, a flash of grayish-white light shimmered from the pile of filth.
“Huh? What’s that?”
Su Shuang’er, who had been about to shake the foul blood off her gauntlet, stopped. Resisting her disgust, she picked up a small twig from nearby and poked around, fishing out a murky, diamond-shaped crystal about the size of a fingernail from the black blood.
Mu Yingying had also used a steel pipe to deal with a Zombie approaching from the outside. She leaned over to look, and her eyes instantly widened.
“Is that a Ghost Crystal?”
“Ghost Crystal? What’s that?” Su Shuang’er asked in confusion.
“I’ve heard people mention them before.”
Mu Yingying clicked her tongue in wonder, looking at Su Shuang’er as if she were a monster.
“These things are energy crystals found inside Weirdnesses or Zombies. But I heard the drop rate is incredibly low, especially for low-tier Zombies like this. You could kill 100 of them and not necessarily see one. You blew its head off with one punch and it actually dropped? That’s incredible luck.”
‘What is it used for?’ White Night asked curiously.
“Eating it gives you an Awakened Ability, though it’s more likely you’ll turn into some kind of Weirdness, just like this Zombie.”
‘So it’s gambling with your life,’ White Night lamented.
“If I didn’t have an Awakened Ability, I’d probably gamble too. But in this Doomsday, many people don’t even get the chance to bet their lives,” Mu Yingying lamented alongside her.
As the two of them were reflecting, the Ghost Crystal held in Su Shuang’er’s hand suddenly emitted a faint pull, pointing directly toward the bicycle.
[Ding. Low-tier Ghost Crystal detected.]
[Would you like to absorb it and convert it into RV Points?]
The System’s long-awaited prompt echoed in White Night’s mind.
‘I can do that? Absorb it! Hurry and absorb it!’
White Night was so excited her soul felt like it was about to jump out of the frame.
In the next second, the murky crystal in Su Shuang’er’s hand turned into a streak of gray light and plunged directly into the bicycle’s frame.
[Absorption successful. Reward: RV Points +1.]
“Eh? Where did the crystal go? Did it go into White Night’s body?”
Mu Yingying was stunned.
‘Auntie Frost, Auntie Ying. I absorbed that thing, and the System gave me 1 RV Point.’
White Night happily reported to the two of them in their minds.
“Well, that’s great!”
Mu Yingying slapped her thigh in excitement.
“If we kill more Zombies in the future, won’t Little White Night be able to hoard points and level up like crazy?”
Su Shuang’er shook her head calmly, pulling out a rag to wipe her hands.
“The drop rate is too low. This one was probably just a stroke of luck. And—”
Just then, several screams erupted from the streets outside the estate.
“Help! Don’t bite me!”
“Monster! Ah—!”
The voices belonged to the survivors who had just joined the team. To fight over food, they had disturbed the Zombies lurking in the shadows and were now being slaughtered.
Listening to the screams and the sounds of chewing, Mu Yingying sighed, the lightheartedness vanishing from her face.
“Listen to the noise outside… Zombies we can kill with a single blow are a dead end for those ordinary people.”
Mu Yingying looked at the headless corpse on the ground with a complex expression.
“Yes.”
Su Shuang’er nodded. She turned around, her gaze softening as she looked at the bicycle standing quietly to the side.
“However, we are very lucky to have met Little White Night.”
Su Shuang’er walked over. Ignoring the stench of blood that had just splattered on her, she pulled the car keys from the pocket of the mutated driver and unlocked the SUV.
Because the SUV was extremely spacious, White Night no longer had to lean in a corner once the back seats were folded down. Instead, she lay comfortably and flat in the rear compartment on a genuine leather rug.
‘This is great.’
‘I finally don’t have to listen to the chain screaming.’
‘It’s so spacious and soft. I can finally travel while lying down.’
White Night felt a wave of relief. Of course, the main thing was that her current “shabby car” body wasn’t very durable. Being pampered by her Aunties was something she quite enjoyed.
After settling White Night in, Su Shuang’er and Mu Yingying leaned against the back of the SUV. They looked at each other and couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
At this moment, they were covered in splattered black blood and slime from the battle, emitting a foul, sour stench.
“These Zombies are weak, but they sure are disgusting,” Su Shuang’er complained helplessly.
“Little White Night, oh Little White Night, do you see how hard your Aunties are working? Fighting for our lives against monsters out there, getting all dirty just to find you a comfortable cabin so you can rest and grow properly.”
Mu Yingying leaned in as well. Although she really wanted to hug White Night, she was mindful of the filth on her clothes and could only restrain herself, using the clean back of her hand to brush against the cold handlebar.
“That’s right, White Night.”
Su Shuang’er’s eyes were full of tenderness, her voice soft and carrying a hint of playful wheedling.
“Your Aunties are risking their lives to raise you now. You have to be good and grow up and level up quickly, okay?”
She leaned closer until her nose was almost touching the front of the bike, her breath light.
“When you get stronger in the future and evolve into a super RV, you have to take good care of your Aunties. We’re counting on you to let us enjoy a life of luxury.”
“Right! When that time comes, you have to get me a big, soft Simmons mattress. And air conditioning!” Mu Yingying chimed in loudly from the side.
“We’re working so hard; you’d better serve your Aunties well in the future, do you understand?”
Surrounded and teased by her two Aunties on both sides, and hearing their half-joking, half-serious expectations, White Night’s soul shrank into the frame, turning beet red with embarrassment.
‘I… I understand. In the future, I will definitely protect you and let you live in luxury.’
White Night made her promise in a small voice. Though her tone was soft, it was firm.
“Then Auntie will wait to live the good life with Little White Night.”
Su Shuang’er’s eyes were brimming with laughter as she closed the trunk door.
Mu Yingying returned to the driver’s seat.
The engine roared to life. This heavy SUV, carrying two women and one bike, drove steadily out of the estate, knocking aside several Zombies along the way.
