“I’m so tired.”
Dragging her exhausted body, Bai Rourou finished washing up and returned to the living room to see a table full of leftover food.
Who could understand this feeling?
It was utterly overwhelming.
But she couldn’t just leave it there—the smell was strong and would easily attract cockroaches.
She had even been hospitalized in the early morning for a high fever, but by afternoon she was job hunting, and at night she was bullied by a violent woman.
Running on empty, Bai Rourou’s energy was almost completely drained.
“I absolutely can’t keep doing this.”
Bai Rourou thought she should find an easier job, preferably as a part-time worker.
“I wonder if there’s any maid café in A City.”
Working at a place like that would be profitable and especially safe.
Without entertaining those odd thoughts any longer, Bai Rourou, dressed in her nightgown, spent half an hour cleaning everything and washing the dishes.
School would start next Monday, so there wasn’t much time left for her to find a job.
“I need to get up early tomorrow to make breakfast for Gong Nanxue.”
It seemed difficult, but in reality, it was quite simple—like making some noodles or taking some time to steam a few buns to complete multiple tasks. Pair that with freshly squeezed soy milk, and it would be very easy.
“But I’m out of ingredients. I’ll make noodles for Gong Nanxue tomorrow morning.”
Bai Rourou worried a little that Gong Nanxue might not wake up in the morning, but after some aimless thoughts, she soon fell asleep.

The next day.
Bai Rourou’s biological clock naturally woke her up around seven o’clock.
Even though she was still very sleepy, she managed to break free from deep sleep and was awake for a short while.
It was easy to fall back asleep if she wanted to.
“Hmm, I’ll make up for it with a nap at noon.”
Rubbing her eyes, Bai Rourou sat up from bed and went to take care of her hygiene.
To her surprise, apart from the severe bleeding on the first day, it had dropped sharply since then and was now minimal.
“I’ll go check if Gong Nanxue is awake.”
She remembered Gong Nanxue was drunk last night, so it was quite possible she hadn’t woken up yet.
She gently knocked on the door and softly called, “Gong Nanxue.”
When there was no response, Bai Rourou went to make breakfast for herself.
She only made a bowl of noodles with a fried egg and some leftover dishes mixed in.
It smelled delicious.
Just as Bai Rourou was about to eat, Gong Nanxue’s door suddenly opened.
“Sis Nan, you’re awake?”
Bai Rourou was momentarily stunned, then quickly greeted her, but immediately noticed that Gong Nanxue didn’t look well.
Why was her face so pale?
“Ugh.”
Leaning against the wall, Gong Nanxue rubbed her head weakly and said, “I don’t think I’ve sobered up yet.”
Without hesitation, Bai Rourou put down her bowl and hurried over to help Gong Nanxue lie down on the bed.
“If you’re feeling unwell, just lie down first.”
Bai Rourou reached out and touched Gong Nanxue’s forehead, then felt her own.
Gong Nanxue felt a bit cool.
“I’ll go get a thermometer.”
“Mm…”
Gong Nanxue squinted her eyes in discomfort, her entire brain dizzy as if experiencing severe motion sickness.
A wave of nausea washed over her, making her want to vomit.
Bai Rourou quickly found the thermometer, then lifted Gong Nanxue’s dress and placed it snugly in her armpit.
“Are you feeling really bad?”
Sitting beside her on the bed, Bai Rourou smoothed Gong Nanxue’s hair, revealing her delicate and beautiful face.
“Mm.”
Gong Nanxue said with effort, “It feels like motion sickness. I’m really nauseous.”
Bai Rourou thought for a moment and said, “Could it be ear stone syndrome?”
Ear stone syndrome is caused when ear stones in the inner ear become dislodged due to sleeping posture or fatigue, affecting the body’s balance and causing symptoms similar to motion sickness.
Usually, it resolves once the ear stones settle back into place on their own.
“Ugh.”
Gong Nanxue tightly pursed her lips, still looking pale.
However, the faint scent on Bai Rourou’s body seemed to soothe her a lot.
Already feeling nauseous, Gong Nanxue clung to Bai Rourou like a life-saving straw and stretched out her hand to grab her.
“Lie down, lie down and hold me.”
“What?”
Gong Nanxue’s voice was so soft Bai Rourou didn’t catch it at first.
“Lie down, hold me.”
Gong Nanxue repeated it again, her pale face flushing slightly with embarrassment.
Bai Rourou hesitated for a moment, then took off her shoes, climbed onto the bed, and hugged Gong Nanxue.
In an instant, the rich fragrance enveloped her entire body, and Gong Nanxue felt much better.
At the same time, the soft body pressed against her startled her.
Rou Rou was so thin, yet so curvy.
“Let me check your temperature.”
Bai Rourou squeezed close, half of her petite body almost pressed into Gong Nanxue’s embrace, and gently pulled out the thermometer.
“Sis Nan, you have a slight fever.”
The girl whispered softly, “I’ll go get some medicine, okay?”
Because of the original body’s constitution, she had a medical kit stocked with common medications.
“No!”
Sensing Bai Rourou’s movement, Gong Nanxue quickly grabbed her hand. She simply couldn’t leave the scent she carried; leaving felt like it would make her nauseous again.
“All right, all right, I won’t leave, I won’t leave.”
With no other choice, Bai Rourou could only coax her like a child, staying by her side and comforting her.
Only it was a pity for the bowl of fragrant noodles left in the living room; Bai Rourou was too hungry but stayed to keep Gong Nanxue company.
As they stayed together, Gong Nanxue eventually fell asleep, and Bai Rourou dozed off in a haze as well.
They hugged each other and slept until noon, with Gong Nanxue waking up first.
“This feels so good.”
Waking up, Gong Nanxue felt incredibly refreshed, a stark contrast to the dizziness and nausea from before—it could only be described as wonderful.
“I think just now I…”
Soon, Gong Nanxue recalled what she had done that morning and looked at the still-sleeping Bai Rourou in her arms, her cheeks coloring.
She had acted like that towards Bai Rourou—forcing her to hug her…
“Rou Rou’s scent really is so nice.”
Gong Nanxue was reluctant to let go.
Thinking that Rou Rou liked her so much and was so obedient, she decided to let her hold her a little longer.
Seemingly sensing Gong Nanxue’s movement, the light-sleeping Bai Rourou woke up quickly and hurriedly loosened her grip.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hold you; it was you who asked…”
“I know.”
The soft body and rich fragrance quietly slipped away from Gong Nanxue’s arms, who showed a displeased expression.
Seeing this, Bai Rourou looked frightened.
“Don’t, don’t send me away.”
“How could I send you away?”
Gong Nanxue waved her hand helplessly, a frustrating feeling bubbling inside her.
She actually wanted to hold Bai Rourou and rest a while longer but didn’t want to admit it because of pride.
The suffocating feeling was unbearable.
“Go make lunch. I’m hungry.”
“All right, all right, I’ll go make it now!”
The girl nodded repeatedly, tugged at her slightly loose camisole, and quickly got out of bed and left.
