After spending a comfortable night at the Olivias Family residence in the Imperial Capital, Helos and Eleanor set off early the next morning under Christ’s guidance.
They had already changed into the freshman uniforms provided by the academy.
It was a set based on formal attire but modified to be easy to move in, featuring knee-length skirts adorned with golden patterns along the hem.
Gavi followed behind Helos, wearing the dark dress they had purchased from the merchant guild the day before.
The carriage passed through the bustling streets once more and soon arrived before the grand gates of the Royal Magic Academy.
Christ, familiar with the grounds, led his two sisters across the lively lawn and straight toward the Dean’s office on the top floor of the Main Castle.
Dean Finalais seemed to have expected their arrival. She remained in her usual somewhat lazy posture, leaning against the back of her chair.
Two brand-new student files and two brass keys engraved with room numbers were already neatly arranged on her desk.
“It seems you are ready.”
Finalais looked at the two sisters, who were full of energy, and a faint smile appeared on her face.
“Welcome to the Royal Magic Academy. I hope you have a pleasant time here.”
She did not indulge in much small talk, simply handing the files and keys to Eleanor and Helos respectively while giving them instructions.
“These are your student files and dormitory keys. Miss Eleanor, your dormitory is over at the divine magic academy; Miss Helos, you will head to the comprehensive research academy. The specific routes are marked on your maps.”
“Remember, you must live in the dormitories during your first academic year,” she added at the end.
“All right, young ladies, off you go—Christ, you stay. I have some matters to discuss with you.”
“Yes, Dean.”
Christ nodded and turned to his two sisters.
“Go settle into your dorms first and familiarize yourselves with the environment. I’ll come check on you later.”
With that, Helos and Eleanor left the Dean’s office carrying their respective keys and files.
“Then, I’ll head this way first.”
Eleanor looked at the map and pointed toward the east side of the castle.
“The dormitory for the divine magic academy is over there.”
“Okay.”
Helos nodded and glanced at the west side marked on her own map.
“The comprehensive research academy’s dormitory seems to be this way. The two sides aren’t actually that far apart.”
Even though they were in the same academy, the different branches clearly demarcated their areas of activity.
“Be careful on your own,” Eleanor instructed, feeling a bit worried. “Contact me or our brother if anything happens.”
“I know, I know ~ I’m not a child.”
Helos waved her hand dismissively.
The two sisters said their goodbyes in the central hall of the castle.
Eleanor walked toward the area symbolizing holiness and light with a hint of anticipation, while Helos led Gavi toward the direction on the map that looked like it would be filled with the aura of “research.”
The comprehensive research academy’s dormitory was located on the west side of the Main Castle.
It was a stone building that looked quite old, its walls covered in lush ivy, forming a sharp contrast with the brand-new white buildings of the divine academy.
Helos checked the room number on her key and soon found her dormitory at the end of the third-floor corridor—Room 307.
The door was made of thick wood, and a Wooden Sign with the name of the occupant hung upon it.
Helos saw that in addition to her own name, there was another unfamiliar name—Agatha Heinrich.
‘Agatha, huh… sounds like a powerful name.’
Helos rubbed her chin and suddenly quirked an eyebrow.
‘Wait, why does this surname feel like it gives me the urge to complain?’
She hesitated at the door for a moment, beginning to recall the scenes of living in a dormitory during university in her previous life.
Back then, it was a four-person room with bunk beds. The space was cramped, but it was filled with the vigor of youth.
Dynamics like “four fathers and four sons” were the norm.
Of course, that was the scene she had observed in the men’s dormitories.
As for the intrigue in the women’s dormitories, which could rival palace dramas, she hadn’t exactly been deaf to the rumors.
‘I wonder if the girls’ dorms in this world will be just as exciting?’ she wondered to herself.
‘Hopefully, this roommate named Agatha is easy to get along with. At the very least, I hope she isn’t a troublemaker like me.’
Taking a deep breath, she raised her hand and knocked gently on the door.
*Knock, knock, knock.*
There was no response from inside.
‘Is no one there?’
Helos waited a bit longer and knocked again, but the result was still silence.
‘Well, looks like there’s a high probability she’s out.’
She hesitated for a moment before carefully opening the door with her key and pushing it inward.
However, the sight that met her eyes caused her to widen them instantly, making her think for a moment that she had gone to the wrong place.
‘Wait… is something wrong with the way I opened this?’
Before her was not the cramped student dormitory with a few beds that she had imagined.
Instead, it was a spacious, bright—living room?
‘No! Where does a dormitory get a living room from?!’
The living room was quite large and covered with a soft wool carpet. A set of comfortable-looking sofas and a coffee table were placed against the wall.
On the other side was a floor-to-ceiling window connecting to a balcony. Sunlight poured through the clean glass onto the carpet, looking warm and cozy.
There were two closed doors on either side of the living room, clearly leading to two independent bedrooms.
If it weren’t for the fact that the furniture and layout were different from her memories of her previous life, Helos would have thought she had transmigrated yet again.
‘This… this is a student dorm?’
Helos was dumbfounded.
She exchanged a glance with Gavi, and both seemed to see a flicker of confusion in the other’s eyes.
Then, the mistress and servant walked inside cautiously.
Helos looked around and discovered that this so-called “dormitory” was actually a standard two-bedroom and one-living-room structure.
Aside from the lack of a private kitchen, it was practically like a fully furnished luxury apartment from her previous life!
In her past life, she had just been a struggling sophomore. When had she ever seen such a luxurious dormitory?
‘Is this for graduate or doctoral students?’
‘Oh, maybe it’s prepared for those “black international students.”‘
The girl couldn’t stop complaining in her heart.
A set of exquisite tea implements sat on the coffee table in the living room, a few items of clothing that were clearly feminine styles were drying on the balcony, and a soft-looking cashmere blanket was draped casually over the sofa.
All these details indicated that her roommate, Agatha, was likely a real person—and one who seemed to know how to enjoy a high-quality life.
Helos walked to one of the bedroom doors where a Wooden Sign with her name hung.
She pushed the door open and walked in.
The bedroom was also quite large, containing a comfortable single bed, a wide wardrobe, and a desk large enough for her to conduct alchemy experiments.
In the corner of the room was a small wooden staircase leading to a loft on the second level for storage.
For Gavi, however, that was a place where she could have her own independent space.
“This is great, Gavi.”
A satisfied smile appeared on Helos’s face.
“You can sleep up there from now on.”
The light in Gavi’s eye sockets flickered, and she nodded silently.
Helos didn’t have much luggage with her; she casually tossed the small bag she was carrying onto the bed.
As for the daily necessities purchased yesterday, Christ had said that the people from the merchant guild would deliver them to the academy in the afternoon.
Thus, she quickly found herself with nothing to do.
A faint floral fragrance lingered in the room.
‘It’s probably left by that roommate, right?’
Helos walked to the window and pushed it open.
Below was a quiet, tree-lined path within the academy, where students were walking by in groups of two or three while clutching books.
‘Should I go visit next door?’
Helos looked at those students, feeling a bit hesitant.
According to the etiquette taught by her teacher, Lilith, as the newcomer, she ought to pay a visit to the other party.
But at the thought of dealing with a complete stranger, she felt her scalp go numb.
‘Forget it… she’s not here right now anyway. I’ll wait until she gets back. What if she’s a difficult person?’
Having made up her mind, she prepared to familiarize herself with her own room first.
However, right at that moment—
*Crash!*
A shattering sound suddenly erupted from the neighboring bedroom belonging to Agatha!
Helos was startled by the sudden noise.
