“Your Highness, this is the Saint Key Knight Order.”
Bianca bowed respectfully to Roman.
The familiar fortress stood before them, platinum banners floating above, shining brilliantly in the morning sun.
Roman glanced around, his heart filled with odd emotions, but he still nodded politely.
“Thank you for your trouble.”
“Your will.”
Bianca clasped her hands in front of her.
After speaking, she fell silent again, standing to Roman’s left.
If it were just her and Roman, the situation would have been normal.
However, Roman was now caught between two people.
To his left stood Sister Bianca, and to his right stood Lady Catherine.
Both were tall and voluptuous women, and as they walked with Roman sandwiched in the middle, he couldn’t help but feel as if he was surrounded by mountains and peaks.
On both sides, Roman was flanked by swaying, ample curves, forcing him to keep his eyes fixed straight ahead the entire time.
Walking down the road, he drew plenty of attention.
After yesterday’s coronation, the residents of the Holy City had naturally remembered Roman, and though he was now officially the male Holy Child, curiosity about him only continued to rise.
Fortunately, Lady Catherine was by his side. Whenever she sensed Roman growing uncomfortable, she would quietly cast a spell to disperse the onlookers.
Bianca tried several times to interrupt Lady Catherine’s inappropriate behavior, but after glancing at Roman, she ultimately held back.
She also sensed that Lady Catherine had a poor impression of her.
Simply put, she found her unpleasant.
As for the reason?
She didn’t dwell on it, nor did she care.
It was probably just an old woman’s possessiveness and the unease of having her secrets exposed.
All she could say was, thankfully she wasn’t talkative.
If she ever spoke her mind to Lady Catherine, no matter how good her temper was, she wouldn’t be able to tolerate such words.
“Greetings, Your Highness.”
The knight on guard duty that day immediately recognized Roman and greeted him respectfully.
“Hello.”
Roman replied politely with his soft, gentle voice, causing everyone present to feel a subtle stir in their hearts.
Just as Roman was about to enter the castle, he noticed that Sister Bianca and Lady Catherine on either side had been stopped.
“Please understand.”
The knight said courteously.
“Unless you have a pass exclusive to the Holy Throne, no one else is allowed to enter.”
Sister Bianca nodded in understanding and stepped back.
Lady Catherine, however, was reluctant, her elegant brows knitting slightly.
She had only just reunited with her precious child, and they hadn’t even finished their conversation…
As she cursed Sylvia in her heart, Lady Catherine also began to feel more dissatisfied with Sylvia.
Watching Roman walk to the door, Lady Catherine finally suppressed her displeasure, forced a reassuring smile, and gestured for Roman not to worry.
But what happened next surprised everyone present, including Lady Catherine herself.
With a helpless expression, Roman returned to Lady Catherine’s side.
He reached out his small hand to hold Lady Catherine’s, pressing close to her arm like a gentle, white lamb.
After a brief moment of surprise, Lady Catherine quietly held Roman’s small hand, her fingers intertwining with his, closing slowly.
“Child, what are you…”
Looking at Roman, so close their bodies were almost touching, a faint blush appeared on Lady Catherine’s elegant face, reminiscent of a shy young girl.
“You traveled so far. Please rest well today.”
Roman said softly.
“Alright.”
Holding Roman’s hand with one hand, and patting his head with the other, Lady Catherine’s earlier frustration vanished without a trace.
She gazed at Roman with satisfaction, the warmth of his touch making her heart itch.
“Then, I’m going in. You should take a walk or rest in your room today.”
Roman smiled softly.
“Who knows, maybe when you wake up, I’ll be right there at your bedside watching you.”
These sweet words made Lady Catherine’s heart tremble.
As she imagined the scene Roman described, she couldn’t help but look forward to it.
“I understand…”
Feeling the strange gazes from those around her, Lady Catherine reluctantly released Roman and stepped back.
“Go on and do your work.”
She hesitated, then added, “If anyone bullies you, remember to tell me…”
“You’re overthinking it.”
Roman replied, a hint of complaint in his tone.
“Alright, alright, I won’t say any more.”
Lady Catherine silently cursed herself for being a nagging old woman who couldn’t control her tongue, always looking for something to say even after the conversation was over.
She watched as Roman followed the knight into the castle, his figure soon disappearing from sight.
Only then did Lady Catherine reluctantly turn away.
Ignoring the blonde-haired nun nearby, Lady Catherine clasped her hands behind her back, her posture graceful as she prepared to leave.
But Bianca called out to her.
“Madam, do you think what you’re doing is appropriate?”
Bianca asked quietly.
A bone-chilling cold enveloped Bianca, yet she seemed to possess a strength that allowed her to face any danger without fear.
“What do you want to say?”
Lady Catherine glanced sideways at her.
Bianca stared back.
“You took advantage of His Highness’s lack of motherly love to invade his heart, blurring his concept of love, making him believe his feelings for you were romantic.”
“But in reality, that’s not the case at all. Your relationship is chaotic, forbidden by the Goddess.”
As Lady Catherine listened to Bianca’s serious words, some of the coldness in her eyes faded.
“You’re very clever. You figured out the nature of my relationship with that child just from the details.”
“You’re right, too. My relationship with him is chaotic. To put it bluntly, ‘debauchery’ is a more accurate term.”
Bianca pursed her lips, remaining silent, tacitly agreeing with Lady Catherine’s point.
“But regardless, both I and that child love this relationship and have long since become addicted to it.”
Lady Catherine said calmly.
“You are already married…”
Before Bianca could finish, Lady Catherine raised her right hand in front of her.
“No, I’m not~”
She smiled.
The faint mark of a ring still lingered on her ring finger, making Lady Catherine appear even more depraved in Bianca’s eyes.
“I am not married, have no husband, and no family.”
“That child is now my only one—my most important family.”
Lady Catherine said with an indifferent expression.
Bianca’s calm demeanor finally cracked, her brows furrowing as she stared at the woman before her.
No matter how she spoke or acted, Lady Catherine exceeded her understanding.
In her world, fallen people were always seduced—never willing.
Yet, Lady Catherine showed no signs of being tempted by any demon, her gaze unwavering.
She didn’t understand.
Were there truly people who willingly chose to fall?
