Bai Wuzhuang successfully drew the attention of the other Qi Cultivators.
Some people were puzzled, some were awkward, some were dissatisfied, and some remained silent.
“Miss, do you have any objections to my suggestion?” Qing Shaofei was the one with the awkward expression, but even though his smile was stiff, he had to maintain it.
“You like to stick together, that’s your business. Only the weak huddle up. We don’t need your help. Who knows if you’re actually good people? Dong Daren, let’s go.” Bai Wuzhuang’s lips curled up, her face filled with boundless arrogance, and she snorted coldly.
“Dong Daren…” Dong Huiting was quite displeased with this form of address.
But Bai Wuzhuang didn’t care about any of this. She strode past the other Qi Cultivators, glaring fiercely at them, and pulled Dong Huiting with her, leading the way through the stone gate on the left.
The two of them walked through the Cave Labyrinth, quickly leaving the other Qi Cultivators behind.
The paths inside the Cave Labyrinth crisscrossed each other, and after taking a few forks, it was impossible to find the way back.
Bai Wuzhuang kept glancing back as she walked, making sure they weren’t being followed.
“Why aren’t we going with the others? It’s dangerous to act alone here. Unless… you’re a Wolf! Did you lure me here alone to get rid of me?” Dong Huiting said.
“Now that we’ve shaken off the others, let’s sit down and talk.” Bai Wuzhuang replied unhappily.
There were quite a few small caves inside the Cave Labyrinth, filled with all sorts of strange odds and ends, and even some weapons.
It seemed the Key mentioned by the Mysterious Immortal Phantom was hidden somewhere in these small caves.
The two of them slipped into one of the small caves and sat down to rest, not in any hurry to look for the Key. Let the others search for it.
Nothing else mattered.
The important thing was that they had to survive the first wave of assassination from the three Wolves.
“What do you want to talk about? But I won’t trust a little liar like you.” Dong Huiting stood at the entrance to the small cave, keeping a wary eye on Bai Wuzhuang.
“Hmm…” Bai Wuzhuang sat on the bench, legs crossed, pinching her chin with her small hand, lost in other thoughts, so absorbed she was in a daze.
She was pondering the issue of the three Wolves. Even though she already knew who the three Wolves were, she still had to analyze their roles.
Wolf King, Shadow Wolf, Curse Wolf.
Among them, the Wolf King was the easiest to guess—definitely Qing Shaofei.
In the last round, he had ambushed Dong Huiting from behind, slicing off her arm with one claw.
The power he unleashed was clearly above that of the other Qi Cultivators.
That was probably the so-called [Wolf King launches a powerful attack once per round].
But as for who was the Shadow Wolf? Who was the Curse Wolf?
For now, it was impossible to deduce—there simply wasn’t enough information.
The Shadow Wolf’s abilities were even more of a mystery; no one knew what it could do.
But the Curse Wolf’s abilities were quite special. It could curse other Qi Cultivators—as long as it knew their roles, it could curse-kill them, without needing to act personally.
That meant she couldn’t reveal her role to anyone lightly.
Because, apart from herself, anyone else could be the Curse Wolf. One careless slip and she could be curse-killed.
Anyone clever should be able to figure that out.
And as for herself, she could narrow down the Curse Wolf to two people: Tuo Long and Sage Xun.
“Are you ignoring me? Little liar, my patience is limited.”
Suddenly, Dong Huiting grabbed Bai Wuzhuang’s crown with one hand, yanking her out of her thoughts, looking down on her with a fierce gaze.
“Let’s talk about our roles first.” Bai Wuzhuang said.
“Hmph, you think I’ll believe you? You could be the Curse Wolf, just waiting to curse me. If you want to talk, you go first.” Dong Huiting snorted coldly.
“I’m the White Sheep. I can verify other people’s identities.” Bai Wuzhuang revealed her role in a second.
“Heh, can’t say anything now, huh? I knew you were a little liar… huh?” Dong Huiting looked smug, but midway through, she realized something was off.
“I’ve already checked Qing Shaofei. By next round, I should know his identity. Though I’m not sure how these rounds are counted.” Bai Wuzhuang continued calmly.
“You’re not lying to me, are you? You must be lying!” Dong Huiting didn’t believe Bai Wuzhuang’s confession.
“Why would I lie to you?” Bai Wuzhuang retorted.
“Aren’t you afraid I’m the Curse Wolf? I might curse you to death!” Dong Huiting exclaimed.
“Shh, keep your voice down, don’t draw people here. If you were a Wolf, you could just kill me right now. No need for all this talk. Besides, for a little nobody like me who just opened her Qi Vein, there’s no need to use curse-kill.” Bai Wuzhuang analyzed.
“Are you stupid? Everyone knows I’m with you. If you die, everyone will know I’m a Wolf.” Dong Huiting shot back.
“Oh?” Bai Wuzhuang couldn’t help feeling pleasantly surprised.
Dong Huiting could actually analyze this much? So she’s got brains after all?
“What’s that look for? You look like you’re doubting my intelligence.” Dong Huiting squinted her eyes, a little annoyed.
“Anyway, I’ve told you I’m the White Sheep. Believe it or not, I have a clear conscience. If I die, so be it.” Bai Wuzhuang chuckled softly.
“……”
Dong Huiting crossed her arms, as if she’d fallen into a mental storm.
Bai Wuzhuang stood up and started pretending to search the room for the so-called Key.
She was putting on an act, feigning honesty and pitifulness, every move full of calculation.
Bai Wuzhuang was very good at using the strengths of her new body.
She looked so pitiful, truly a perfect facade to win sympathy.
“Hey, Dong Daren, I found a great place.” Bai Wuzhuang returned after sneaking around outside, her face full of flattery.
“What?” Dong Huiting’s guard had dropped quite a bit—it seemed she believed Bai Wuzhuang’s genuine confession.
But I, Bai Wuzhuang, really hadn’t lied. My role really was the White Sheep.
“Are you trying to lure me into a corner and finish me off?” Dong Huiting questioned.
“If you’re that scared, why not just kill me now? It’s my own fault if no one trusts me.” Bai Wuzhuang didn’t respond directly, muttering a complaint, then quietly mocking herself.
But even her soft grumbling was heard by Dong Huiting. No matter how quiet, the cave echoed.
This, instead, left Dong Huiting silent, not knowing how to retort for a moment.
In the end, though, Dong Huiting still followed Bai Wuzhuang into the neighboring small stone cave. As soon as they entered, a wave of heat hit their faces.
Inside, there was actually a small hot spring.
Hot water gushed down from a hole in the wall, with a folding screen beside it, neatly stacked clean towels, and even several sets of brand-new black brocade clothes.
“This is the great place you were talking about?” Dong Huiting questioned.
But Bai Wuzhuang had already stripped off her clothes and, bare-bottomed, slipped into the hot spring.
Dong Huiting blushed at the sight—she’d never seen anyone so shameless.
But then she wondered, why should she be embarrassed? Hadn’t she seen this white radish body many times before? What was there to be embarrassed about?
