The other clan members chimed in as well.
“Yeah! The Five Gods Dawn are already dead. Isn’t that enough?”
“What more do you want?”
“Besides, the ones who made mistakes were them. Why drag us into it?”
“We did do some… some less than honorable things before, but that was under the deception and coercion of the false gods!”
“Exactly! We had no choice either!”
“We’re so innocent!”
Su Fu listened, and suddenly she smiled.
“That was quite the speech.” She clapped her hands lightly, her tone almost appreciative.
The gathered members of the great families felt a surge of hope.
Was this… agreement?!
They were going to live?!
But the next second, her expression turned icy cold, murderous intent blazing in her eyes.
“Yet I don’t want to hear a single word of it.”
“My master is dead.”
“Right or wrong, I have no desire to question it.”
“Nor do I care to.”
Her voice was soft as she raised a hand slightly, blue light illuminating her face like an Asura.
“These arguments—”
“Save them to discuss slowly with Yama himself.”
Before she could even finish giving the order, a frantic shout rang out:
“Su Fu! Wait!”
A spatial rift tore open, and a figure teleported in with a group of people.
Verdanti and the others recognized the newcomer, joy exploding in their eyes.
“Chairman Evans!”
Su Fu paused for a moment.
She knew this man.
Or rather, she knew this identity.
Evans, the current rotating chairman of the Divine Bureau, humanity’s highest decision-making body.
This chairman she had once seen in a Dungeon was now white-haired and advanced in years.
“Chairman Evans, what is the meaning of this?”
“Are you here to protect them?”
Evans shook his head, still refined and elegant. “Not at all.”
“I did not come to be your enemy, nor to shield these heinous great families.”
He paused, then continued: “I merely received a letter of surrender jointly submitted by the Seven Great Clans.”
“I know you harbor hatred for them. Over the years, they have indeed acted tyrannically, plundering star systems, even colluding with the false gods.”
“Their crimes are too numerous to record, deserving of death ten thousand times over.”
“But, Su Fu, you can see that the current situation is fraught with internal strife and external threats, precarious as a candle in the wind.”
“The Anomalies’ attacks are fiercer than ever. Humanity now hangs by a thread.”
“Rather than letting them die without any value, why not… give them a chance to atone for their crimes through merit?”
“At the very least, they would die a meaningful death, wouldn’t they?”
Reason and emotion, both appealed to.
Su Fu listened, momentarily startled, then smiled.
She pointed at the members of the Order of the Aristocratic Families, her tone dripping with sarcasm:
“Old sir, why don’t you turn around and look—”
“Each of them is clad in fine silks, laden with Divine Artifacts, living a life of extravagance.”
“You say, let these lofty big shots enter the battlefield to protect humanity?”
“Look at the Divine Artifacts on them—Verdanti’s Crown of the Heavens, an S-Class Defense Divine Artifact.”
“That elder’s Eternal Tear, an SS-Class healing Divine Artifact.”
“Even that one in the corner, wearing black—those Cloud-Treading Boots beneath his feet, an S-Class mobility Divine Artifact, a thousand miles in one step.”
“Close your eyes and pick any item from any one of these people, and it’s probably worth a mid-tier star’s entire annual income.”
“Tell me, how many commoners had to be exploited, how many resources seized, just to forge a single one of these Divine Artifacts?”
Su Fu made no effort to hide the disgust and contempt in her eyes.
“And now, you want them to take these Divine Artifacts to the battlefield and show off their merits?”
“Chairman Evans, you should know better than I do—”
“The Hereditary Houses have occupied the Saint Land for generations, perched high in the halls of power, viewing all living beings as ants, driving them like oxen and horses.”
“What do you think—if I let them go today, would they truly mend their ways, turn over a new leaf, and dedicate themselves to the survival of human civilization unto their dying breath?”
“Or would they immediately flee under assumed names?”
“Using the vast resources they hold, rise again and stir up chaos!”
“Even going so far as to collude with the false gods once more, betraying humanity!”
The members of the great families, their thoughts laid bare, wore expressions of shame and discomfort.
Someone couldn’t help but shriek: “Su Fu! Don’t go too far!”
“Us agreeing to fight is already a concession!”
“Concession?” Su Fu scoffed. “What right do you have to speak of concessions?”
“You never treated people as people—why should you get a chance at redemption?”
“You’ve enjoyed your high positions, had your fill of power, and now want a fresh start?”
“Now that death is at your doorstep, you suddenly know what atonement means?”
Evans fell silent.
He had no rebuttal.
Su Fu looked at Evans, the warmth in her eyes completely gone.
“How about this, Chairman Evans.”
“You, sir, are venerable and devoted to the public good—this junior respects you.”
“If you can stop me, I’ll listen to you.”
“How’s that?”
Evans: “…”
If he could stop her, would he have been standing there talking this whole time?
What could he even use to stop her?
Su Fu could kill gods!
Evans could only let out a helpless sigh. “You truly insist on this?”
But Su Fu suddenly stroked her chin. “Chairman Evans, you’ve reminded me of something.”
“Letting them die so cleanly is too merciful.”
“How about this, Chairman—let’s make a bet, shall we?”
“If anyone among these people can be found whose hands are unstained by the blood of the innocent…”
“I’ll let them go.”
Before Evans could respond, Su Fu had already raised her hand:
“[Poetic Stele of the Butcher · After My Bloom, a Hundred Flowers Slain]!”
A forbidden art of slaughter granted by Huang Chao of China after breaching the Kunlun Dungeon.
Neither Divine Power nor Immortal force—it originated from mortals, yet transcended them, a Godly Power born of ultimate compassion for the suffering of the world.
“Boom—!”
A blood-red poetic stele descended from the void with an earth-shaking impact.
The moment the stele’s inscriptions manifested, countless golden flames poured down like a torrential rain.
This fire did not consume mortal things.
It burned only all the ill-gotten wealth of the world—fine garments, jade ornaments, gold and silver treasures.
It extinguished only all who committed evil deeds—those who perpetrated injustice, the great wicked!
“Ahh—!”
“No!”
Golden characters suddenly materialized before each member of the great families.
Every evil deed they had committed, made manifest.
Each sin that appeared summoned a flame of retribution.
And so, fierce flames roared to life on the scene.
They frantically channeled their Divine Power, summoning all manner of powerful protective Divine Artifacts and life-saving Heavenly Techniques.
“[Shield of the Norns]!”
“[Crown of the Heavens]!”
“[Eternal Tear]!”
“[Cloud-Treading Boots]!”
Every trump card they had saved for their final moments was unleashed, Divine Artifacts of every color weaving together in a radiance brighter than the sun itself.
They screamed and begged frantically, pleading with Chairman Evans:
“Chairman, save us! Please save us!!!”
Evans: “……”
Stop shouting, he couldn’t do anything either.
He had stepped forward earlier, but the fire hadn’t touched him at all.
What kind of Godly Power was this?!
So terrifying, and so specifically targeting the scum of the great families?!
The glowing scroll of sins, the karmic fire consuming their bodies—it was all crystal clear!
The accompanying officers watched, faces turning pale one by one. China was truly terrifying beyond comprehension!
At last, all the screams and wails gradually faded.
The flames that could burn away all sin also slowly dispersed.
Fine garments and jade ornaments had turned to ash.
Not a single person survived.
Amid the ashes, Su Fu let out a long, regretful sigh: “Ah… Chairman Evans, as you can see.”
“Not one of them was innocent.”
Evans: “…..”
What more could he say?
The great families were truly eliminated now—roots pulled, bones ground to dust, not even a trace left behind!
Meanwhile, Ra and the other false gods also witnessed this scene.
Even beings like them, long accustomed to bloodshed and slaughter, couldn’t help but feel a chill run down their spines.
Terrifying.
Utterly terrifying.
Is Su Fu even human?
She’s a complete madman through and through!
“The Seven Great Clans… just gone like that?”
“Within a single day, that Su Fu… uprooted them all?!”
“She’s a madwoman who doesn’t play by any rules!”
“Both human, but the distance between those good-for-nothing families and Su Fu is a veritable chasm!”
“Why is China, standing alone… so terrifying?!”
In the image, the wind blew, stirring up plumes of gray ash like a black snowfall.
But just then, Su Fu in the image suddenly raised her gaze.
As if piercing through infinite barriers of time and space, she looked directly… toward their direction!
“She… can she see us?!”
The three gods’ hairs stood on end!
Ra’s voice suddenly pitched higher. “Is she looking at us?!”
He had observed the mortal world as the sun for thousands of years, never once detected—yet now he was shaking with terror.
“Don’t panic! She’s definitely bluffing!” Indra said, forcing calm, gripping his thunder spear tightly. “She has to be bluffing us!”
“She just happened… happened to glance at the sun!”
“If you move now, that’s when you’ll fall for her trick!”
Gods observing the mortal realm had always been secret and formless, never once reverse-tracked.
No matter how strong Su Fu was, she couldn’t possibly see through the nature of the sun with a single look!
But just as they were reassuring themselves, Su Fu in the image moved again.
She smiled, her voice light and airy: “You’re all watching me, aren’t you? In that case, consider this our first formal meeting.”
“How about I send you a welcome gift?”
Under the terrified gazes of the gods, Su Fu raised her hand and grasped the air.
“Hummm—!”
A golden Divine Bow materialized out of nowhere, wreathed in blazing, unquenchable Godfire, its bowstring humming and trembling.
She nocked an arrow, drew the string—
The bowstring vibrated, and the golden divine arrow shot backward like a falling meteor, hurtling straight toward the heavens!
“Whoosh—!”
The golden arrow transformed into a streak of light that tore through the sky, rocketing toward the false sun hanging over the Central Star System!
One arrow piercing the clouds—a thousand armies come to meet.
“Ahhhh—!”
Ra completely broke down, turning to flee!
Death! This arrow would absolutely bring death!
He finally knew how Amaterasu Okami had died!
He fled in sheer panic, even resorting to summoning the [Golden Sun Barque] to try to block the arrow that sought his life.
But it was all in vain.
The seemingly indestructible [Golden Sun Barque] was pierced through effortlessly the moment it touched the golden arrow!
Then, before the incredulous eyes of countless observers, the arrow pierced the sun.
“Boom—!”
The sun exploded in midair, blazing white light and flame pouring down like rain, unleashing its final radiance and heat, illuminating the entire Central Star System.
Golden fire rained down in all directions, scattering endlessly.
Su Fu tilted her head up, admiring the spectacular sight of the sun’s fall.
She had sensed something wrong the moment she entered the Central Star System—the sun overhead pulsed with divine fluctuations, of the same origin as Amaterasu Omikami, yet even more hidden.
If she hadn’t personally slain the Sun God and wielded the bow of Shooting the Sun, she might well have been fooled.
She truly hadn’t expected the false gods to transform into stars and monitor the mortal world.
Hanging there so brazenly, right above everyone’s heads.
It really thought it was the sun.
Casually dusting off her sleeve, Su Fu smiled gently at the void:
“As for the rest of you…”
“You’d better run fast, okay~”
