Seraphina jerked backward sharply.
She pressed both hands tightly over her mouth.
The blush that had only just begun to fade from her cheeks flared up again.
Her whole body trembled.
“You tricked me! You did that on purpose!”
Movira licked her lips as if savoring the brief yet wonderful sensation from moments ago.
Her face showed undisguised delight.
“It was purely an accident. However…”
Seeing Seraphina looking so humiliated and on the verge of tears, Movira decided to add fuel to the fire.
“What’s all the fuss about? Have you forgotten? Last night, I don’t know who it was that suddenly threw herself into my arms and kissed me so passionately. It was even more intense than just now. I didn’t even have time to react.”
Those words exploded in Seraphina’s heart like a thunderclap.
Last night… she had actively…
Movira added another line.
“You took advantage of me last night, so it’s only fair that I take a little back, right!”
Seraphina froze completely in place.
Fuzzy fragments wrapped in fear flooded into her mind.
That meant…
“Everything that happened last night… wasn’t a dream?!”
Seraphina’s voice shook.
The flush of shame rapidly drained from her face, replaced by a terrified pallor.
The belated panic surged up.
Seraphina looked up and stared fixedly at Movira, her eyes filled with fear and realization.
Movira had wanted to say something to smooth things over, but Seraphina rushed forward first and grabbed her sleeve tightly.
“So… everything from last night was real?! That blood-red sky… and those monsters outside the manor!”
Seraphina had thought all the bizarre events last night were nothing more than a nightmare.
The nightmare had ended with her inexplicably kissing Movira.
But now Movira was telling her that the ending was real… which meant everything leading up to it had also truly happened!
Seraphina’s voice trembled.
The fear from last night seemed to resurface as her eyes quickly filled with tears.
“And… Sister, you got hurt because of those monsters outside, didn’t you? Why didn’t you tell me?!”
Seeing the hurt look on the other woman’s face, Movira felt her prepared excuses catch in her throat.
She found she couldn’t bear to lie to her.
She sighed and pulled Seraphina into her arms.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have hidden it from you…”
She then recounted what had happened the night before, though she still downplayed the severity.
“Then why didn’t you tell me?!”
Seraphina lifted her face.
Tears finally rolled down and dripped onto Movira’s collar.
“I didn’t know anything. I was hiding in the room all alone, terrified! You could have told me! I wouldn’t have caused any trouble. I didn’t want you getting hurt, but I was the last one to find out!”
“I was wrong.”
The sight of those falling tears pained Movira deeply.
She gently wiped Seraphina’s tears away with her fingers and promised softly.
“Next time… if something like this happens again, I’ll tell you immediately, okay? I won’t let you worry alone anymore.”
Seraphina sniffled and stared into Movira’s eyes.
“You promise?”
“I promise!”
Movira raised her hand with the palm facing Seraphina and said solemnly.
Just then, there was a light knock on the door.
Before anyone could respond, the door was pushed open.
Dekalorin appeared in the doorway!
One of her arms was in a sling, gauze was plastered on her forehead, and white bandages were visible on her exposed wrists and neck.
Although her face was pale, her eyes were bright and lively.
She even wore her usual smile, as if nothing had happened the night before.
“Hi, good mor— ah, good afternoon! Time to get up…”
Before she finished speaking, her gaze swept over the two of them.
Seeing that Seraphina wasn’t particularly shocked by her current appearance, Dekalorin looked slightly surprised but quickly understood.
“Looks like Seraphina already knows about what happened last night.”
After all, something this major couldn’t be hidden.
Whether it was Dekalorin’s injuries or the mess in the town outside, there was no way to conceal it from Seraphina.
Seraphina nodded.
“I know everything now.”
Seeing Dekalorin covered in injuries, even though she had mentally prepared herself, actually seeing her like this was still quite shocking.
“Dekalorin, you’re injured this badly… shouldn’t you be resting properly?”
Dekalorin waved her hand dismissively and even deliberately moved her less-injured arm.
“It’s nothing serious. It just looks scary. Those physicians are making a big deal out of nothing. My recovery ability is quite strong. Otherwise, how could I have fought a certain someone on the battlefield for several days straight?”
As she spoke, she gave Movira a pointed glance.
Movira looked at Dekalorin’s relaxed expression, but she could still sense the weakness beneath the smile.
“Are you really okay moving around like this?”
“Don’t worry, I won’t die.”
Dekalorin’s smile was very carefree.
She quickly changed the subject, keeping her tone light.
“Anyway, enough about me. I have good news for you two—I’ve already prepared lunch! It might not be as good as before, but it definitely won’t be bad. Hurry downstairs and try it!”
“Huh??”
This statement left both women on the bed stunned.
Looking at Dekalorin in her current condition—with only one arm barely functional—she had not only gotten out of bed but had even… cooked?!
“Hurry and come down. We still have things to handle after the meal.”
Dekalorin added, her tone becoming slightly more serious.
“People from the royal capital and the Holy See will arrive soon. This town needs to be temporarily sealed off for investigation and cleanup. It’s just a shame about my new home…”
After speaking, Dekalorin turned and walked out first.
Seraphina and Movira quickly got up and followed.
While going downstairs, Dekalorin happened to run into Saint Eustacia, who was coming out of the study.
When Saint Eustacia saw that Dekalorin had gotten out of bed and was walking around freely, her expression darkened instantly.
She hurried over.
“Teacher! Go back and rest right now!”
Saint Eustacia’s voice carried both strictness and anxiety.
She reached out to support Dekalorin’s arm, but the other woman gently shook her off.
Afraid of causing her teacher secondary injury, Saint Eustacia didn’t dare use force.
However, her verbal reprimand didn’t stop.
“You’re being too irresponsible with yourself!”
She tried to block the staircase, not wanting Dekalorin to go down.
“Go back!”
But Dekalorin seemed to have an obsession.
The more Saint Eustacia tried to stop her, the more determined she became to descend!
Saint Eustacia refused to yield an inch.
In the end, the two of them made their way down the stairs in a very strange posture—Saint Eustacia blocking from the front while Dekalorin kept pushing against her shoulders…
“Come on, I’m really fine. I even made lunch!”
“Made lunch?! Teacher! Were you just waiting for me to look away so you could…”
