In the blink of an eye, time flew by.
Su Yao found herself a little dazed for a moment, as if she was seeing scenes from last year—places and moments that left a deep impression on her.
She slowly let out a breath and stretched lazily.
With the temperature rising, Su Yao was already dressing much lighter, her good figure no longer hidden, making her more eye-catching.
Though others saw her as a quiet university girl, Su Yao wasn’t really so reserved at heart. At home, she’d occasionally do some outrageous things. Only after Mu Nanqiu moved in did she begin to restrain herself, but as time went on, she seemed to relax again, her nerves no longer so taut.
She remembered the look in her eyes.
Su Yao thought back to that time when she’d yelled out “damn” in her room, and Mu Nanqiu came in with a plate of fruit. She’d thought for sure she’d get a good scolding for cursing.
But that time, Mu Nanqiu let her off. In the days that followed, Su Yao tried to hold back, but after a few days, she just let her emotions flow naturally, venting in whatever way felt right to her.
“Geez, Su Yao, how did you grow like that? Last semester you didn’t look this big.”
Luo Yu’s mouth was slightly agape in surprise. In her impression, Su Yao had always been above average, but somehow, after spring came, she’d grown so much more that it was hard to imagine. Su Yao tried to hold herself in a bit, but then relaxed, leaning back against the desk behind her as she spoke to the starry-eyed Luo Yu.
“It just gets bigger if you stick it out.”
“No, I don’t think I’ve got enough in the first place. No matter how much I push, I can’t get that curve.” Luo Yu was envious, but she also knew that being big wasn’t all fun and games. She snuck another glance, a little resentful.
If only it were possible, just a little, just a tiny bit—if only I could get a little bit, that’d be enough!
Just a little, and I’d move up a whole grade.
Luo Yu glanced at Su Yao’s face and whispered,
“By the way, I’ve noticed you’ve gotten a lot more upright lately. Are you planning to be a model?”
Su Yao fell silent, her expression making it look like she was admitting it. Luo Yu immediately perked up, hastily following up,
“Really?”
“It’s just that a senior wants to take some photos for fun, so these days she’s been dragging me to yoga and stuff, says it’ll help build poise. Sigh, I’m exhausted~”
“Tut tut.”
Luo Yu could clearly see Su Yao was showing off, and while she was envious, she’d actually considered supplying outfits herself so she could watch in person for free. But then she thought, those two were doing their own thing, there’s no way they’d let a third wheel tag along, so she kept that to herself.
As for herself, she and Bei Zhi were still debating which set of Equipment was most suitable. Luo Yu didn’t even understand why she was so into the game lately—maybe… maybe it was just because she could play with others?
Letting out a long sigh, she instantly deflated.
That’s just how it is at this age—one moment brimming with energy, the next sighing in gloom.
Luckily, Luo Yu quickly bounced back, sharing with Su Yao all her recent happenings and bits of gossip—who did what with whom in their class, what big event happened at which school—anything she knew and hadn’t told Su Yao before, she chatted about it all.
When Su Yao got home, the moment she opened the door she heard a click.
Mu Nanqiu was holding a camera, pointing it right at her. Su Yao blinked, closed the door first, then changed her shoes before heading to the living room.
“What are you doing?”
Mu Nanqiu smiled and said, “Adjusting.”
Su Yao gave an “oh,” tossed her bag onto the sofa, then craned her head back to watch Mu Nanqiu assemble the camera and tripod. The steps were simple—Mu Nanqiu was just getting a feel for the equipment, getting familiar.
Feeling it was a bit of a strain to keep twisting her neck, Su Yao knelt on the sofa and leaned over the back to watch Mu Nanqiu fiddle with the camera. Mu Nanqiu slowly moved her feet, swinging the lens over for another shot of Su Yao.
Su Yao raised an eyebrow, testing the waters as she asked,
“Nanqiu, are we going again today?”
“Not today, we’re going somewhere else.”
Mu Nanqiu had long since arranged their afternoon. Knowing they wouldn’t be going to the practice room, Su Yao’s mood instantly brightened, a smile spreading across her face—she must have been holding a grudge about it.
Another click—Mu Nanqiu looked at the photo on the camera display: the young girl pressed her thin lips together, her delicate face glowing with happiness, a joy in her eyes that was almost impossible to hide.
Mu Nanqiu smiled helplessly, wondering if she’d been too strict.
As the weather warmed, their clothes shed their bulk. A light pink hooded sweatshirt, pale gray jeans, long hair let down—she looked fresh and lovely, and with her naturally pretty face, even more appetizing.
Maybe Mu Nanqiu was imagining something—Su Yao didn’t know why she kept staring at her body like that.
It wasn’t far from their home to their destination. They were received by a young woman in professional attire. Su Yao had no idea what was going on, until she heard Mu Nanqiu ask her to cooperate and picked up a tape measure.
Her body measurements were carefully recorded and handed off to the woman in the office.
And that was it—the whole thing ended quickly, much to Su Yao’s surprise. She sat in the passenger seat, unable to resist sneaking glances at Mu Nanqiu, curiosity—or maybe hope—shining in her eyes.
At last, as if moved by Su Yao’s gaze,
Mu Nanqiu spoke.
“Let’s go for a walk in the park.”
“Okay!”
With no practice room on the agenda, she could truly relax. When the car stopped, Su Yao looked out the window. They’d been to this park before, around the New Year—she remembered they’d walked for a bit and she’d stolen a kiss at a certain spot.
As soon as she got out, she was like a wild colt off its leash, bouncing forward with every step, looking positively gleeful.
Su Yao pointed in a direction and called back to Mu Nanqiu,
“It’s that way!”
That was the same spot as last time. Su Yao ran back, grabbing Mu Nanqiu’s arm with both hands, tugging her along, hoping they could hurry up and get there.
By the riverside railing, Su Yao gazed into the distance, enjoying the gentle breeze brushing her cheeks, her fine hair floating softly. While Mu Nanqiu was distracted by the view, Su Yao tiptoed up and pecked her on the cheek.
“A sneak attack?”
The soft touch on her cheek made Mu Nanqiu’s heart skip a beat. She lowered her head, eyes narrowed as she quietly watched Su Yao.
Su Yao blushed, smiled shyly, wrapped her arms around Mu Nanqiu, and hid her face behind her back.
