The magic sword entwined with blood-red roses slashed out a blood blade powerful enough to tear the heavens.
With a single missed strike, Marquis Sardin, who was suspended in midair, couldn’t dodge in time.
The blood blade grazed his right shoulder and, like a shark’s tooth, tore his entire right arm off.
Hit by such a heavy blow, Marquis Sardin’s expression changed drastically.
Pain twisted his face as a howl of agony was forced from deep within his throat.
“How…how is this possible! How can you be this strong!”
Marquis Sardin’s eyes stared fixedly at Sidella ahead, whose expression was cold as ice.
He didn’t dare relax in the slightest, his voice trembling.
It wasn’t just him.
Even his teammates, Marquis Carli and Marquis Rama, had suffered varying degrees of injury in their struggle against Sidella.
They had severely underestimated the strength of the Blood Queen, Sidella!
In their original plan, even if the three joined forces couldn’t kill Sidella, they should at least have been able to suppress her completely.
But this…isn’t this even stronger than the previous Demon King?!
“So what?”
“Even if she’s powerful, can she change the fact that the Demon King Castle was destroyed right under her nose?”
Marquis Carli, seeing that physical attacks were useless, tried to disturb Sidella’s mind with words.
“A king guarding an empty city? Your Majesty, you’re quite derelict, aren’t you~”
Marquis Rama’s lips curled into a mocking smile.
Sidella stood silently in the air, her giant bat wings gently fluttering behind her.
She listened to their mocking words with an unchanging expression.
Her delicate little face wasn’t even touched by dust.
With the strength of the three Marquises, they couldn’t harm her at all.
Only a bit of filth clung to her long dress.
In her hand was the magic sword wrapped in blood-red roses—the legendary sword of the blood clan ancestor, ‘Bloodnight Rosemi.’
Blood-red rose petals coiled around the hilt, as if absorbing the blood of the three Marquises, blooming even more vividly and dangerously.
“Are you all done?”
Sidella’s gaze swept over the three Marquises.
Her lips curled into a wicked smile.
If Hualí were here, she’d instantly recognize that this nasty person was about to mess with their heads again.
She spoke lightly.
“As ‘Marquises’ within the Royal City, yet you slaughter your own kind without restraint.”
“Let me guess…”
Sidella’s crimson eyes were deep and mysterious, as if they could pierce the soul and see through everything.
“Your true kin were secretly transferred out of the Royal City days ago?”
“But do you really think they’re safe?”
The faces of the three Marquises instantly changed at her words.
Why was Sidella suddenly bringing this up?!
“You knew our plan from the start?!”
Marquis Sardin was the first to react, shocked and uncertain.
“Impossible! If you knew, how could you let us live until now?”
“Just bluffing? Hah, Your Majesty is quite childish.”
Yes, it was all just the other party’s bluff.
If their actions had been exposed from the start, how could Sidella have done nothing?
How could the Royal City have been ruined to this extent?
As the king, had Sidella never cared for the lives of her people?
Where was her mercy?!
Wait! Why did they so naturally assume that Sidella would choose to protect the Royal City?
Just because she was the new king of the demons?
But no matter what, the three Marquises couldn’t associate the smiling woman before them with mercy.
What if she knew their plan from the very beginning and used them to eliminate other dissenters in the Royal City?
It was cruel, but also the fastest way for a new king to silence opposition.
The expressions of the three Marquises grew increasingly terrified as they looked at Sidella.
This meant that the kin they had transferred were under surveillance from the start!
“Finally figured it out?”
“If you hurry back now, maybe you can collect their corpses.”
Sidella was truly beautiful.
Her silver hair flowed like moonlight, and her alluring pointed ears made her looks peerless among both humans and demons.
Yet such a perfect, almost cute girl, in the eyes of the three Marquises, was no different from a demon crawling from the abyss.
The same terror, the same chill.
Even combined, the three couldn’t kill Sidella or take the Demon King Castle.
Continuing to fight was pointless.
The three exchanged glances and, in the next instant, decisively turned to flee!
But what they didn’t know was that choosing to retreat was the start of their countdown.
“Only now do you want to run? Too late!”
Suddenly, the late-arriving Hualí burst in, gripping the Saint Sword and leaping high.
She swung it like a bat with all her strength, slamming down hard on Marquis Carli’s face—the closest target.
Marquis Carli was struck.
His massive body lost balance and crashed into the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust several meters high.
Hualí rested the Saint Sword on her shoulder.
Her small frame blocked the escape of the three Marquises.
“Sidella, you’re so useless! These three trash took you this long?”
Hualí looked at Penina with disdain in her eyes.
Sidella didn’t care about Hualí’s mockery at all, her face breaking into a rare smile.
“Hualí, did you come to help me?”
“Hmph! Who’d want to help a nasty person like you! Lilith begged me, that’s all.”
“Human Hero Hualí!!”
Marquis Carli crawled out of the pit, his face as sour as if he’d swallowed a fly.
“This is an internal demon affair. What’s it got to do with you? Don’t tell me the rumors are true, and you two are really a thing?”
Sidella glanced at Hualí, her ruby eyes glimmering with amusement.
“Who’s a thing with her! Your whole family’s a thing with her!”
Hualí puffed up her cheeks in anger.
“I’m done talking—go die!”
When the Human Hero and the Demon Queen join forces, the scales of victory are tipped.
The defeat of the three Marquises was already decided.
“Saint Sword ‘Phillips,’ your true wielder’s name is Hero ‘Hualí.’ Today, all your power will be released. After the setting sun, before the night descends…”
As Hualí spoke, the light gathered in the Saint Sword grew ever brighter.
Behind her, Sidella raised the magic sword ‘Bloodnight Rosemi’ at the same time.
Stab—!
The attacks of hero and demon king fell together.
Blinding white and deep blood-red intertwined, severing all paths of escape.
Everything in sight was reduced to dust.
Blood beads rained down from the sky, pounding the ground and extinguishing the fires raging within the Royal City, marking the end of the demon clan’s civil war.
The Dragon Princess Lilith arrived late, clutching her severed arm.
She knelt on one knee beside Sidella, head bowed.
“Your Majesty the Queen, I am late!”
Behind her, the Saintess Penina continuously cast healing magic, exhausted from trying to reattach Lilith’s arm.
“Your injuries are serious. Don’t move!”
Sidella’s gaze passed through space to the war-torn, ruined Royal City.
Thanks to Lilith’s timely evacuation of the plaza’s people to the Prison with a magic barrier, casualties weren’t too heavy.
But restoring the Royal City would take time.
Hualí shifted her steps, slowly approaching Sidella.
“Hey, what you said to those three idiots earlier…was it true?”
“What?”
Sidella tilted her head, puzzled.
“You know, letting them rebel on purpose because you already knew?”
“Oh, that.”
Sidella smiled and shook her head.
“No, I lied to them. Things have been busy lately—I’ve been handling ‘files’ every night.”
She was telling the truth.
The three Marquises had acted with utmost secrecy.
“Oh~”
Hualí answered vaguely, rummaging in her pocket.
She took out the jeweled crown symbolizing the Demon King, lost during the riot, and handed it to Sidella.
“Here. I picked it up on my way.”
When Sidella didn’t take it immediately, Hualí grew impatient.
“What? Don’t tell me you want me to put it on you?”
“Too bad the statue’s gone. Otherwise, we could’ve watched the fireworks.”
Hualí muttered softly, barely audible even to herself.
