“Hu… hu… Fresh air feels so good.”
Porcelain Moon suddenly soared up to a hundred meters high.
The communicator instantly filled with voices.
“Porcelain Moon! Porcelain Moon! Respond, please!”
“I’m fine.” Porcelain Moon panted as she answered.
Looking down, the ground was slowly sinking, kicking up a cloud of dust, and a huge black figure was faintly visible.
“Mission target—I should have completed it, right?”
“You did very well. Porcelain Moon, how are you feeling now?” Ma Xinyin’s voice came through.
“I have to say, this was a terrible plan… I never want to fight 1.5 kilometers underground again.” Porcelain Moon wiped the sweat off her forehead—the underground was stiflingly hot.
“Codename Earth Dragon has appeared on the surface. Porcelain Moon, can you join the next phase of the battle?”
“I’m tired. I want to rest a bit. Can you hold it off? I’m running low on magic.” Porcelain Moon said, hands on her hips midair. Her Super Ion Cannon had nearly drained all her magic.
“No problem. We’ll take it from here. You should evacuate the area quickly.”
The Earth Dragon finally revealed itself. Under the sunlight, its full form was clear—a fluid black spherical mass about two hundred meters in radius.
Connected to the main body were a dozen or so thick black tentacles, which were dragging it out of the ground.
Inside the Command Center, the screens showed real-time images of the Earth Dragon.
“According to the scan, its core is at the center of the sphere, wrapped in a layer of hard silicon-based bone. It will be extremely difficult to penetrate.” The Assistant explained.
Ma Xinyin glanced at Chen Hanjun sitting beside her and exchanged a meaningful look.
Chen Hanjun smiled and said, “For high-hardness aberrant beasts like this, we actually have matching weaponry now. This operation is a perfect opportunity to test the experimental unit’s new weapon.”
Chen Hanjun had an officer bring up a small screen, showing a rare variant of the Jian-10 Fighter Jet with an oversized guided bomb mounted under its belly.
“The Leishi-2500J Penetrating Bomb. It can pierce through 120 meters of concrete, with a 1,000-kilogram high-explosive TNT warhead—enough to severely damage Kingdom-Class Aberrant Beasts.” The officer introduced.
“That’s a terrifying weapon. I can’t wait to see it hit the aberrant beast.” Ma Xinyin said. “It seems like the role of Magical Girls in future battles is diminishing.”
“Xinyin, you don’t have to worry so much. The firepower density of Magical Girls is still irreplaceable in short bursts. For now, let’s see what this new weapon can do.”
Chen Hanjun instructed the person in charge beside him, signaling to prepare the attack.
Fifteen kilometers away, two Jian-10 Fighters loaded with Leishi-2500J bombs flew toward the target. Their laser-guided pods locked onto the main body of the Kingdom-Class Aberrant Beast Earth Dragon.
“Hunter, prepare to fire.”
“Permission to fire granted.”
At three kilometers distance, the fighter jets released the Leishi-2500J guided bombs, which hurtled straight toward the Earth Dragon at Mach 1.5…

“Porcelain Moon, senior!” Chen Lisi saw Porcelain Moon descending from the sky and hurried over with concern.
“I’m okay, just a bit drained of magic.” Porcelain Moon supported her side.
Other waiting Magical Girls nearby also flocked over; Porcelain Moon had grown used to all these beautiful girls fussing over her.
“Porcelain Moon senior, want some drinks?”
“Senior, want me to apply some moisturizer?”
“Porcelain Moon senior, I have lots of snacks—please eat some!”
Countless caring gazes looked at Porcelain Moon, and she could only accept their kindness.
Somebody even brought out a lounge chair for Porcelain Moon to rest in. She drank, snacked, and enjoyed the breeze from an electric fan as she watched the battlefield’s progress.
“Porcelain Moon senior, how did you escape from such a deep place?” Ying Xian asked curiously, crouching down close beside her.
“Well… do I have to say?” Porcelain Moon didn’t want to brag. After all, only the legendary S-Class Magic Girl Akaren could use a Super Ion Cannon like that, and even Ma Xinyin didn’t know she could do it.
“No, you must tell me, senior…” Ying Xian darkly traced Porcelain Moon’s forearm, smiling slightly. Porcelain Moon saw that her curiosity had reached a somewhat creepy level.
Somebody, please save me! Porcelain Moon silently pleaded inside.
Suddenly, shocked exclamations came from nearby.
Porcelain Moon looked four kilometers away at the Earth Dragon. Flames appeared on its body, and thick black smoke billowed out.
Suddenly, another explosion erupted on it. Porcelain Moon felt a slight tremor.
“Has the official firefight begun?” Porcelain Moon asked Ma Xinyin over the communicator.
“We’re testing a new weapon. It looks effective.” The reply came.
The 1,000 kilograms of high-explosive TNT detonated inside the Earth Dragon, blowing its outer shell apart from the inside out.
Through the smoke, the brittle red functional tissue inside was exposed where the hard bone shell had been shattered.
Seizing the opportunity while it was heavily wounded, Chen Hanjun ordered all units to open fire.
Blazing heat.
In an instant, a tidal wave of firepower poured onto the Earth Dragon, which looked like it was wrapped in a constantly glowing red armor, continuously assaulted by explosives.
Qiangwu Attack Aircraft in the sky dropped numerous large-yield bombs; each bomb’s impact burst into dazzling light.
On the ground, over forty PLZ-05 Self-Propelled Howitzers fired simultaneously. Their 155mm shells struck the aberrant beast’s body with precision, shattering the tentacles trying to block the attacks.
Agile attack helicopters appeared behind the mountain ridge, firing rockets to cleanse other smaller aberrant beasts crawling out of the ground.
The scene was spectacular, but the logistics must be cursing. The higher-ups attached great importance to this Exotic Beast Purge, so the battle costs were sky-high.
This was one reason why Magical Girls were still valued—they were incredibly cost-effective.
Porcelain Moon hadn’t seen such a large-scale battle in a long time; the last time was two or three years ago during the campaign against Chi You.
After several minutes of relentless firepower, the once massive Earth Dragon was blown to pieces, leaving only burning debris behind.
Porcelain Moon fetched a telescope to observe the scene—through the dispersing smoke, a purple glow gradually emerged…
At first, it was a small purple light suspended in the air. The outer layer was a slightly translucent purple polyhedron about ten meters in size, not very visible amid the raging flames.
“What’s that?” Chen Hanjun pointed at the purple polyhedron.
“Detecting massive energy fluctuations…” the Assistant replied.
The purple polyhedron began to change shape—from a defensive multi-faceted form into an offensive triangular focal shape…
