Moreover, that little bird that couldn’t even fly high when it was in Aili’s hands—could it really fly out of the room?
Lin Zhen didn’t believe it!
He was convinced that the little bird didn’t run away on its own at all; there was definitely more to its disappearance!
“Xiao Xi, Xiao Xi!”
Lin Zhen signaled Aili with his eyes, and the two of them grabbed Yun Ruoxi’s arms from either side.
The blue-haired girl’s movements paused.
She turned her head.
At first, she glanced at them coldly, then her pupils suddenly shrank, as if she’d just realized what she had done.
The anger in her eyes quickly faded, replaced by panic and fear.
“Ah!”
She let out a scream.
Duxie, whose entire right hand had been crushed, and the other trainees bleeding from their mouths and noses nearby, all instantly lost their support, falling from midair and collapsing to the floor, unconscious.
In the next moment, she darted away like a fish, slamming open the door to the Class Nine training room.
Lin Zhen rushed after her, but could only see a blue figure shrouded in illusory light disappear down the corridor.
“What’s wrong with my sister? What happened to her?” Aili glanced at Duxie lying on the floor with snot running down her face, but felt no fear—just worry for Yun Ruoxi.
“I don’t know, but it looks like her mental state isn’t nearly as good as the Doctor said—or as we thought.”
Right now, Lin Zhen wanted to go after Yun Ruoxi.
But the Class Nine training room was a complete mess thanks to her, and there were still injured people like Duxie to take care of.
He had no choice but to go into the training room and help clean up the aftermath for Yun Ruoxi.
“This is your last warning. If you mess with Xingkui again, I won’t stop Xinglan from taking action.”
Lin Zhen crouched beside Duxie, warning her as he glanced at Duxie’s right hand, which looked as thin as paper.
He added, “While the broken bones haven’t completely fused into your flesh yet, hurry and get to the infirmary. If you wait any longer, you’ll lose your hand for sure.”
After saying this, he called a few of the bystanding trainees to help carry the unconscious people to the infirmary.
Only then, feeling troubled, did he take Aili with him to Yun Ruoxi’s dorm.
Lin Zhen gripped the doorknob and gently turned it.
As expected, the door was locked from the inside; it wouldn’t budge at all.
“Breaking the lock shouldn’t get us in trouble, right?”
Lin Zhen let out a soft breath. His ability flared instantly, and he cracked the inner structure of the lock.
Then he shoved hard and pushed the door open, stepping inside.
But the next second, an even greater force pushed from behind the door.
The two of them were slammed back out.
“Don’t come in!” a girl’s crying voice came from inside the room.
“Xiao Xi, you hurt me when you pushed,” Lin Zhen joked, rubbing his bumped forehead, trying to lighten the mood.
Seeing this, Aili also shouted, “Sister, let Xiao Ai come in, okay?”
“I—I’m sorry.” Yun Ruoxi’s voice was choked with tears, and just hearing her made it easy to picture her burying herself in the blankets, crying miserably.
“But please, don’t come in. I want to be alone for a while.”
“All right, we won’t come in.”
Lin Zhen called out loudly. Giving Aili a “calm down” look, he continued, “But if we can’t come in, at least let us see you.”
Saying this, he pressed his right hand to the door, feeling grateful for the war camp’s “all metal, wherever possible” construction style.
“How about… we just watch over you from outside the dorm?”
It sounded like Lin Zhen was asking for permission, but he didn’t actually give Yun Ruoxi a chance to respond. He used his ability to liquefy the metal door.
With the iron door gone, Lin Zhen and Aili could finally see what Yun Ruoxi looked like now.
They saw—
The girl was curled up in a corner of her bed, hiding under her quilt, crying like a little kitten.
It really was just as they’d imagined.
“Xiao Xi.” Lin Zhen muttered, a flash of heartache in his eyes.
“Sister!”
Aili tried to enter the room, but even with the iron door gone, there was still a wall of Telekinesis blocking their way.
No matter how hard the blond girl pushed or slammed against it, it didn’t budge.
“Xiao Xi, whatever’s wrong, you can tell us!” Lin Zhen said earnestly. “Did you forget? We’re your best friends, and Xiao Ai is your beloved little sister.”
“We’ll always have your back.”
“Yeah, we all support you!”
Hearing the commotion, Chaos rushed over, patting his chest and chiming in.
Even Yun Che, who was always quiet, spoke up: “Problems can only be solved if you talk about them. Hiding your illness does no good.”
“Xiao Xi, have you started to dislike us?” Zi Jiu used a goading tone.
“No! Of course not!” Yun Ruoxi shouted in protest.
“Then why won’t you let us in? What’s the difference between watching from outside and watching from inside?” Zi Jiu pressed.
“I—I…” Yun Ruoxi bit her lower lip. Tears and snot streamed down her face as she yelled, “I’m afraid you’ll hate me!”
“How could that be? Yun-jiejie, you don’t even dislike a chubby, annoying kid like me. How could we ever hate you?” Anvil called out loudly.
Lin Zhen shot him a look. He immediately understood and began squeezing his fighter’s powerful body toward the room.
“But I’m scared…Wuwuwu…”
Yun Ruoxi covered her face, haunted by images of the cruel things she’d done in the war camp.
“Please… don’t come in.”
She cried as she raised her hand, Telekinesis surging forth. But the Telekinesis Wall that could once crush steel and block attacks was pushed back inch by inch by Anvil and the others.
Yun Ruoxi was afraid of hurting them, so every time they forced their way in, she instinctively weakened her Telekinesis.
Lin Zhen and the others realized this, so they let Aili take the lead in charging forward.
Sure enough, the barrier’s strength lessened even more.
And so, inch by inch,
It was like wading through a sticky swamp—they forced their way inside and made it to the bedside.
But seeing that she couldn’t stop them, Yun Ruoxi buried herself even deeper under the blankets, refusing to answer no matter how they called to her, only quietly crying beneath the covers.
Just like an ostrich burying its head when in danger.
“Lao Xi is really miserable, the ninth episode is almost over, and she’s been suffering all the way through.”
“iXi production team, what do you say?”
“This crying is so real… My daughter is the same age as Xiao Xi, and her crying makes my heart ache.”
“Yeah, yeah, she’s crying so realistically. The voice actress is really amazing.”
“Stellar” had now reached episode nine, and voice actors everywhere were being praised for their amazing performances.
But so far, the Chinese voice actors, aside from their names briefly appearing in the ending credits, had never shown their faces publicly.
On the contrary, in the Japanese and American dubs, the voice actors had not only appeared on camera but even filmed behind-the-scenes clips.
