In the forest on the outskirts, Ling Xiaoyou was tightly bound by that ghostly blue Ghost-Binding Rope.
Her arms couldn’t move, and her spiritual power couldn’t be used.
Only her pair of fair, delicate legs could still move, allowing her to sit on the ground in a duck-like position instead of lying down like a tightly wrapped zongzi.
Right now, Ling Xiaoyou’s expression was full of dejection, on the verge of tears.
Combined with her posture and the way she was tied up, she looked as pitiful as could be.
Ling Xiaoyou regretted it.
Really regretted it.
Extremely, utterly regretted it.
If she had known Bai Shuanglian had such a rope that could bind her movements and spiritual power, she wouldn’t have messed with the system!
Now, not only had her attempt to escape failed, she was also bound by Bai Shuanglian.
What kind of bizarre play is this?!
Damn it, Bai Shuanglian, are you using this rope just to see me in this state and humiliate me?!
Ling Xiaoyou lifted her small head, glaring angrily at Bai Shuanglian, who was circling her as if appreciating her appearance.
Her eyes were filled with grief and indignation.
This person had already circled her half a dozen times, doing nothing but pacing with an inscrutable expression, as if she was plotting something.
Ling Xiaoyou felt like a criminal about to be executed, the psychological pressure of impending punishment weighing on her.
Bai Shuanglian naturally didn’t know exactly how Ling Xiaoyou felt inside, but she could more or less guess.
However, she wasn’t in a hurry to punish Ling Xiaoyou.
She was quite happy to see her looking so afraid, wanting to savor this uneasy little Pen Fairy for a while longer.
Such thoughts were impossible for the Bai Shuanglian of the past, or even the Bai Shuanglian from a few hours ago.
But for some reason, after capturing this little Pen Fairy, such thoughts inexplicably surfaced in her heart.
Maybe it’s just because I want this little ghost who dared to tease me to pay the appropriate price?
Bai Shuanglian gave herself a seemingly reasonable explanation.
She didn’t resist these thoughts, and instead, felt a strange eagerness growing inside.
Unconsciously, the corners of Bai Shuanglian’s lips curled with interest as she began to ponder how to put those thoughts into action.
Seeing the sudden ‘evil’ smile on Bai Shuanglian’s face, Ling Xiaoyou felt a chill.
Her petite body trembled in fright.
Her hands, bound behind her, hastily pressed against the ground, awkwardly trying to distance herself from the strange Bai Shuanglian.
Although Bai Shuanglian was contemplating her next move, most of her attention remained on the little one beside her.
So as soon as Ling Xiaoyou tried to move away, she noticed immediately.
But she didn’t say much.
She just kept her smile, took a step forward, and closed the distance between them.
Looking at Bai Shuanglian’s beaming face, Ling Xiaoyou couldn’t hold back any longer.
Her cheeks puffed up as she shouted at Bai Shuanglian:
“So what are you planning to do?!”
“Tying me up and doing nothing, just walking around in circles with that weird expression!”
“Are all Exorcists this bad?!”
Seeing the little Pen Fairy huffing at her like an angry kitten, Bai Shuanglian wasn’t angry at all.
Instead, she felt amused.
“Oh~ so you really want me to do something?”
Bai Shuanglian narrowed her eyes, asking with interest.
“Yes!”
Ling Xiaoyou blurted out without thinking.
Right now, she felt like a criminal awaiting execution.
If Bai Shuanglian did something to her, it might at least settle her nerves a bit.
But if she just kept smiling, it only piled on the pressure, making Ling Xiaoyou feel sure this person was plotting something terrible!
But as soon as Ling Xiaoyou finished, she sensed something was off.
“No…”
But before she could take it back, she saw Bai Shuanglian’s beautiful face suddenly draw close.
Her dark eyes sparkled.
“That’s what you said.”
Before Ling Xiaoyou could say anything more, Bai Shuanglian placed her smooth, white hand on Ling Xiaoyou’s soft cheek, kneading it fondly.
Then, she let go, gently brushing aside the pure white hair that covered Ling Xiaoyou’s face, revealing her delicate, adorable features.
Even though she had previously used her spirit sight to see Ling Xiaoyou’s true form, Bai Shuanglian was still captivated by the sight.
A flawless, cute face.
Big, ruby-like eyes, wet and shimmering.
Like a frightened kitten trying to protect itself, but with no intimidation at all—only overwhelming cuteness.
“That little girl from before would never believe that her scary-looking Pen Fairy sister was actually an even smaller, cuter little girl.”
Unable to resist, Bai Shuanglian pinched Ling Xiaoyou’s cheek again, chuckling.
The moment she heard herself called a little girl, Ling Xiaoyou became furious.
Even if she did look like a little girl now, she couldn’t just admit it!
Did she have no dignity left?!
The more Ling Xiaoyou thought about it, the angrier she became, especially remembering Bai Shuanglian’s earlier actions.
She puffed up and huffed:
“Who are you calling a little girl?!”
“I’m a Ghost, okay?! In terms of age, I’m older than your parents!”
This was a lie.
Ling Xiaoyou had only transmigrated a little over a year ago.
How could she be older than Bai Shuanglian’s parents?
But still, one must never lose face.
Even if she wasn’t old, she had to say she was!
Not for any reason other than to annoy this detestable Bai Shuanglian and make her understand that little ghosts are not to be underestimated!
Ling Xiaoyou was full of fighting spirit, but soon lost her nerve as she saw Bai Shuanglian’s movements freeze and a sense of foreboding grew in her heart.
“Th…that, even though my age is quite old, but…”
Ling Xiaoyou’s eyes darted about, her guilt obvious as she tried to find something to say to smooth over her earlier words.
But before she could come up with an excuse, Bai Shuanglian moved again.
Unexpectedly, Bai Shuanglian didn’t look angry at all.
Instead, her smile grew wider, making Ling Xiaoyou feel even more uneasy.
“In that case, you’re not a minor… Oh wait, a minor Ghost, right?”
This is bad!
Ling Xiaoyou, who had read countless books, immediately realized something was wrong.
Her eyelids twitched, a sense of impending doom growing.
“What are you trying to do?! I’m telling you, I’m a Ghost with a legal identity! If you dare do anything to me, I’ll call the police!”
Ling Xiaoyou propped herself up, trying to scoot away, shouting a warning at Bai Shuanglian in hopes of making her come to her senses.
But Bai Shuanglian was unmoved by her threats.
She slowly approached the retreating Ling Xiaoyou, smiling.
“What could I possibly do?”
“If anything, I’d just be granting your wish.”
My wish?
Ling Xiaoyou froze for a moment, then realized with horror what she meant.
Seeing Ling Xiaoyou’s expression, Bai Shuanglian’s smile grew.
“That’s right, it’s exactly what you said to me earlier.”
