Luo Xiya stood beside Roman, looking at him as if admiring a once-in-a-lifetime work of art.
In the mirror, Roman’s long silver hair was parted at the back of his head, tied into two straight ponytails that hung down to his waist, quietly covering the backside of his maid dress.
Beneath the double-layered black-and-white lace skirt, his slender and graceful calves were wrapped in translucent, glossy white stockings as thin as cicada wings.
Fortunately, thanks to the conservative design of the maid outfit, the view of Roman’s thighs was well protected—otherwise Luo Xiya wouldn’t have been pleased.
Moreover… Luo Xiya’s hand quietly reached over and grabbed the black strap at the top of Roman’s thigh.
Under Luo Xiya’s mix of gentleness and subtle threats, he finally gave in and wore the underwear.
The snug fabric felt both cool and smooth, making it genuinely hard for Roman to get used to.
(Harmonious…………………………………………………………………..)
This kind of unshared pleasure of hers even gave her a sense of indulgent satisfaction.
“It’s getting late. Let’s go out and eat,” Luo Xiya said, pushing open the door while holding Roman’s hand.
“Yes, my lady.”
Having never learned maid etiquette, Roman replied awkwardly and out of place.
As soon as they stepped out the door, Luo Xiya and Roman ran into Elise, who had just woken up.
“My lady, Lady Catherine last night—”
Her voice cut off mid-sentence.
Elise took one look at Roman standing next to Luo Xiya, her eye twitching uneasily, even forgetting to greet Luo Xiya for a moment.
“Elise-jie, good morning,”
Roman said softly.
“Go–Good morning,”
Elise replied, glancing uneasily at Luo Xiya.
Luo Xiya first frowned, then smiled at Roman and said, “Since you’re going to be my personal maid, you need to know that Elise is your superior. Remember to address her as Lady Elise, understood?”
It sounded playful, but to Elise’s ears, it was shocking. She couldn’t help but speak up, “You can just call me Elise or Head Maid. We’re all my lady’s close attendants—no need to be overly formal.”
“Understood, Lady Head Maid.”
Only then did Luo Xiya step forward and considerately adjust Elise’s slightly messy collar.
“Didn’t sleep well last night, did you? Come have breakfast with us, then take a nap after.”
“Thank you for your concern, my lady,” Elise replied.
The two followed Luo Xiya a step behind, one on each side.
Elise occasionally glanced at Roman, and seeing his steady steps and the same pure, delicate face as always with no abnormal reaction, she finally let out a quiet sigh of relief.
At the dining table in the living room, the maids had already prepared breakfast for Luo Xiya.
Roman glanced at it and couldn’t help but shake his head.
The foreign food style was hard to comprehend on a first look.
“You may all leave now.”
Once Luo Xiya was seated properly, Elise turned to the row of little maids standing to the side and gave the command.
After sitting down, Luo Xiya took a sip of milk, then seeing Elise and Roman still standing in servant posture, sighed and complained, “I told them to leave so the two of you could sit and eat with me. So slow.”
Only then did Elise smile with honored surprise and take her seat.
Roman hesitated a moment before also sitting beside Luo Xiya.
As a servant, no matter how kind your master is to you, no matter how close your relationship becomes, you must never forget your place.
Overstepping boundaries without permission will eventually come back to bite you.
Today, your master may overlook it out of affection, but once that affection runs dry, a single careless offense could bring your ruin.
That’s the meaning of loyalty as a servant.
“Roman, open your mouth.”
“Ah…”
Luo Xiya fed Roman a piece of fried egg on her fork.
The two had unknowingly drawn very close, their chairs nearly touching.
Elise quietly held her knife and ate her breakfast beside them, silently watching the interaction between the two.
It seemed that her decision to act on her own last night had directly pierced the troublesome wall between them.
Luo Xiya picked up a piece of cream-covered bread.
Halfway through, she started to feel full and simply set it down, turning to glance at Roman beside her.
The phrase “so beautiful it makes one lose their appetite” was no exaggeration.
As Luo Xiya watched Roman eat his breakfast in small bites, showing expressions of delight or distaste depending on the taste, every raised brow and curved lip carried its own unique charm.
She reached out and wiped a crumb from the corner of Roman’s mouth. With food still in his mouth, Roman couldn’t speak, but he gave her a grateful look.
If Roman were simply a beautiful girl, Luo Xiya would’ve just appreciated his beauty and interacted casually. But knowing full well that the person before her was undeniably a boy…
Luo Xiya narrowed her eyes slightly and downed the rest of her milk in one go.
If Roman’s Sacred Seal issue couldn’t be resolved, he could be taken away at any time.
There was one more option—to ensure that Roman’s Sacred Seal never awakened. That way, there would be no danger.
But that thought was instantly dismissed.
Just thinking such a selfish thing made her feel deeply ashamed.
“Come stroll through the territory with me later,” Luo Xiya said.
Elise was about to respond, then quickly realized who Luo Xiya was speaking to, and closed her mouth.
“Alright…”
Roman replied.
After breakfast, Roman volunteered to clean up. Luo Xiya didn’t object and exchanged a look with Elise before the two of them left together.
“Do you know what kind of Sacred Seal Lord Roman has?” Elise asked.
“I don’t. Just that it’s a high-tier Sacred Seal,” Luo Xiya said calmly.
“…”
There was a moment of silence. Elise stopped in her tracks. An invisible, silent wave of power spread through the entire estate. After a while, Elise finally nodded in reassurance.
“You were far too careless. This isn’t something that should be spoken of lightly,” Elise scolded Luo Xiya for once.
“With your Sacred Seal in place, is there anywhere in the empire safer than my estate?” Luo Xiya said indifferently.
Elise thought for a long moment before saying softly, “Looks like we’ll have to trouble Lady Catherine for help…”
“Mm. So while I’m taking Roman out this afternoon, you must prepare the materials needed to awaken the Sacred Seal before tonight. If I remember correctly, there are still plenty of extraordinary materials within the territory. Also, make sure to explain everything clearly to Aunt Catherine. We’ll need her help.”
“So urgent? Lady Catherine, she…”
“I’m really not confident about Aunt’s current mental state. I think this will be good for her.”
After prolonged treatment, even with her status as a high-level extraordinary, Catherine had become a burden to Luo Xiya.
Catherine herself was well aware of this, and even though Luo Xiya had never held such thoughts and had done everything to save her, it hadn’t stopped Catherine from gradually giving in to despair.
As rude as it might be for a junior to say such things, Luo Xiya had noticed since childhood that Aunt Catherine had a weak and appeasing nature.
After last night’s failure, her self-destructive tendencies would only worsen.
