“Time’s just about up.”
Attack.
An excited voice rang out from above.
Yin Lin’s lower body clenched all at once, her hair standing on end, goosebumps erupting over her skin.
She took a deep breath.
Gripping her staff tightly, she immediately took off, dragging along the ground for more than ten meters before finally managing to climb atop her staff. Swaying left and right, she narrowly dodged several probing strikes from Lüyè’s whip.
She then began to pick up speed, trying to conjure a wind barrier.
Her speed slowly increased from 50 to 120. Just a few more seconds—once she finished casting the wind barrier, she could accelerate even further.
She wasn’t sure if it was just her imagination, but it seemed Lüyè’s desire to attack wasn’t very intense. So far, all the attacks had been tentative.
Moreover, Lüyè’s acceleration should have been faster—she was known to be able to reach at least 400 km/h, but right now she hadn’t caught up to Yin Lin.
Strange, really strange!
But Yin Lin lacked combat experience, and her knowledge of Magical Girls was still limited.
All she could think about now was to hurry up and cast the wind barrier to cut the wind resistance, then push her speed to the max and make a run for it.
She only needed a few more seconds!
Lüyè stared dead ahead at her target, the world in her eyes reduced to nothing but that silver silhouette.
She licked the corner of her mouth, savoring the scent of sweat mixed with her prey’s unique fragrance.
Oh~ what a marvelous smell this is!!
“My pituitary gland is going wild!” she shouted.
Whether Easterners or Westerners, everyone knows what kind of woman is beautiful. Just check the popularity charts on those yellow websites, and it’s clear: Eastern and Western aesthetics are aligned.
Lüyè could, of course, tell just how peerlessly beautiful Yin Lin was. Her body was already frenzied, barely able to restrain itself.
Still, she held back, using the last shred of rationality in her mind to suppress the overwhelming desire.
Her eyes were bloodshot from the effort.
Run, little cutie, run—faster, faster!
Lüyè kept up the chase, already three hundred meters out.
Seeing the timing still wasn’t right, she took the opportunity to dive into a flashback—a so-called cutscene.
She remembered being seven or eight years old…
Suddenly, Yin Lin accelerated.
Lüyè quickly snapped out of her reverie and began preparing.
The silver-haired girl had just finished creating the wind barrier. With the wind resistance problem solved, her speed increased drastically.
Seeing this, Lüyè finally stopped holding back and surged forward at an even greater speed, closing the gap to just a few meters in the blink of an eye.
Even while flying at high speed, she flicked her whip—the whip seemed to ignore the wind resistance, moving with incredible flexibility.
Yin Lin divided some of her focus to watch behind her—there was no need to look ahead while flying in the sky.
She noticed Lüyè starting an attack, and instinctively veered to one side.
She narrowly dodged the whip that came lashing at her with frightening speed. At this point, her speed had climbed to around 380 km/h, nearly exceeding what she suspected was Lüyè’s maximum.
Suddenly, Yin Lin’s body stalled—her speed failed to increase further.
Looking down in terror, she saw her left ankle wrapped up in the whip.
Didn’t she just dodge it? How did it wrap her up again?
Can a whip really pull off a boomerang trick like that? How is this possible?
Yin Lin had clearly underestimated Lüyè’s mastery of the whip, as well as the capabilities of Magical Girls. Her impression of the whip was still stuck at the level of an ordinary human’s use.
With Yin Lin’s left leg bound, Lüyè had no intention of finishing her off just yet.
She still wanted to see more fear and pain on the silver-haired girl’s face—she wanted to unlock more CGs.
With a savage flick, she yanked Yin Lin out of the sky, swinging her around in midair like a hammer throw for a dozen dizzying revolutions before hurling her brutally toward the ground.
She even deliberately loosened the whip around Yin Lin’s left ankle, letting her fall to the ground for the first time.
The force of the impact was weaker than an advanced Abnormal Demon’s attack; the ground merely cracked with fine lines, and her magic shield didn’t shatter, only rippling with visible waves.
Yin Lin’s staff was knocked from her hands, landing nearby on the ground.
That crash left her stunned and unable to move for five seconds.
Without her weapon, the wind barrier dissipated and she plummeted to the ground.
While climbing to her feet, she summoned the staff back into her hand.
Lüyè had already caught up, standing barely more than ten meters away.
The whip lashed out again—this time not to bind, but to strike, infused with magic to increase its power.
Yin Lin rolled frantically across the ground, dodging the first strike, then scrambled into a nearby abandoned Ruin Building. Yet, just as she crossed the threshold, the whip struck her.
That blow left a huge crack in the wall and struck her on the back, but her magic shield blocked it, producing another intense ripple—still, the shield didn’t break.
Watching Yin Lin flee into the Ruin Building, Lüyè didn’t worry at all; instead, she grinned with satisfaction.
At last, she used that move, twirling her whip in a great circle, casting a magic spell similar to a barrier that began absorbing all the magic in the area.
Hiding inside a reinforced concrete structure made no difference.
Lüyè discovered something that shocked her—her own magic power was instantly filled to the brim, and she was already beginning to feel pain from absorbing so much so quickly. It was starting to backfire on her.
This had never happened before.
The magic leaking from the silver-haired girl’s body was like a massive dam suddenly releasing all its water, while the downstream was just a narrow river channel, utterly unable to withstand such a torrent.
What a huge surprise.
When she’d investigated the silver-haired girl’s data earlier and seen her outrageous magic cannon and magic shield, Lüyè had guessed she had an enormous magic reserve.
How enormous? She still had no idea.
And now, she still didn’t know the exact figure.
A Magical Girl’s magic recovery speed has an upper limit, whether by eating, using other means, or supplementing her magic.
It’s like a pipe—the diameter determines how fast the Magical Girl can recover magic.
Yet Yin Lin could instantly replenish the 10% of magic Lüyè lost, and even make the pipe bulge and crack from the pressure.
Even Lüyè felt a bit frightened, hurriedly adjusting the “valve”—that is, the speed of absorption.
Even so, under the effect of the barrier, Yin Lin’s magic continued to leak out while she remained hiding inside the Ruin Building.
The magic accumulated in the area was growing denser and denser, as if it were filling with natural gas, creating a dangerous situation—if this region’s magic was ignited, it would unleash the power of a magic cannon at 50% strength.
Location.
Lüyè knew that girl’s tactics.
She’d played with far too many Magical Girls and seen countless strange and bizarre moves.
The silver-haired girl’s plan was obvious: deliberately let her leaking magic saturate the area. For instance, right now, Lüyè couldn’t sense her exact location anymore.
Magic filled the whole space; Yin Lin was like a fish hidden in the water, blending in completely.
Just end this already and show something interesting instead, if you destroy that girl in next chapter and go to something else i will not complain -_-
