Woman.
Magical Girl Lüyè, number two on the Human Alliance’s Official Wanted List, was a magical girl with no interest whatsoever in aberrants, but with an extreme, almost frenzied passion for magical girls themselves.
Her fanaticism was different from Jinluan’s. Jinluan simply liked to be surrounded by lovely sisters—out of affection.
But Lüyè’s affection was obviously not of that kind—it was wild, rough, bordering on feral.
The Human Alliance’s officials had even once issued an Official Announcement: if magical girls encountered Lüyè, they were to treat her like an aberrant rather than an ally.
Why?
Just as you see now.
In the pedestrian street, a high-grade aberrant was still attacking humans.
Lüyè didn’t even spare a glance at the high-grade aberrant; her eyes were fixed solely on Yin Lin, who was preparing the Heaven-Splitting Spear.
Drool slid from the corner of her mouth, and she even forgot to lick it, looking exactly like a goblin who had spotted an elf maiden.
Yin Lin kept her guard up against her while dealing with the aberrant, not daring to make a move yet, waiting for the right opportunity.
She could now understand how Jinluan and Huanhong had felt before.
Back then, Yin Lin was also cold and indifferent toward aberrants, humans, and magical girls alike. No matter how Diamond prodded her, she refused to deal with aberrants.
Rather like this Lüyè.
She wondered how Jinluan and Huanhong had managed to endure; with how weak they were, it must have been a real struggle.
Yin Lin shot a wary glance at Lüyè again.
Lüyè clenched her fists tightly, nails digging crescent marks into her own flesh as she tried to endure.
She threw out a line: “I’ll give you two minutes. After two minutes, I’m going to act, okay?”
“120, 119, 118……”
She started counting down.
Yin Lin wasn’t too anxious yet; two minutes should theoretically be enough for her to finish off the high-grade aberrant.
She divided her focus more, keeping a close eye on the aberrant causing chaos below.
The Heaven-Splitting Spear was already aimed. The aberrant was clearly worried, both hunting humans and watching out for her.
Yin Lin had never fought a physically-enhanced high-grade aberrant before; previously she’d only faced ones with magical enhancements.
After a few minutes of fighting, Yin Lin had learned that this one’s strength, agility, and defense were all astonishing.
The Heaven-Splitting Spear wasn’t pure energy—it dealt both physical and magical damage.
Unfortunately, this aberrant on the ground seemed to have high resistance to both damage types.
As she hesitated, the high-grade aberrant grabbed another fleeing human.
Seeing this, Yin Lin dashed forward, almost as if she meant to ram into the aberrant herself.
The aberrant instantly tossed aside the human and prepared to meet Yin Lin’s charge.
At the last moment, she veered suddenly. At just five meters away, she fired the Heaven-Splitting Spear at point-blank range, then immediately shot upward to gain altitude and withdraw.
The aberrant tried to grab the Heaven-Splitting Spear again, but missed this time—she was too close. The Heaven-Splitting Spear pierced through its palm, out the shoulder, and finally pinned itself to the ground.
At last, she’d injured the aberrant again.
This aberrant had incredible endurance and lightning reflexes; its exceptional agility was truly on display now.
Not only did it avoid being stunned, it even leaped from the ground in an instant, jumping twenty meters high—higher than Yin Lin.
It twisted midair and landed a fierce, upside-down kick on Yin Lin. The blow was strong enough to generate a shockwave, sending her crashing from low altitude straight through the KFC on the pedestrian street—through the front door, across the bar, tearing up the kitchen, and blasting a hole near the back door, sending her rolling out onto the back street.
Inside the shop, people crouched with their heads in their hands in the corners, not daring to make a sound.
Yin Lin, however, wasn’t dead. Being the city’s number one damage sponge was no joke.
She quickly canceled her cracked magic shield and immediately raised a new one.
Her hair was disheveled, dress a mess, and her body exposed in places.
She had just gotten to her feet and hadn’t even had time to take off again when the high-grade aberrant came charging.
It barreled straight out of KFC, smashing through walls as if they were paper.
It could sense Yin Lin’s position, so even with obstacles blocking its view, it could still attack her effectively.
A flying kick came at Yin Lin. She tried to dodge by leaping, but mid-pounce she was struck in the stomach by the high-grade aberrant’s kick.
They crashed into another shop, demolishing yet another storefront.
The store manager and employees lay flat on the floor, watching in terror, not daring to get involved in such a battle.
Because Yin Lin was so light, she quickly came to a halt at another wall, while the aberrant barreled in after her.
Her magic shield cracked again. She skillfully dismissed it and raised another fresh shield.
She began charging up the Heaven-Splitting Spear again, gripping her staff with one hand and preparing to ascend quickly.
Of course, the high-grade aberrant wasn’t about to give her that chance. It burst from the rubble, dashed, and leaped thirty meters high in one bound, grabbing Yin Lin’s left leg—in effect, grabbing her magic shield.
In midair, the aberrant executed an alley-oop dunk, smashing Yin Lin hard into the ground and leaving a half-meter-deep pit and countless cracks in the concrete.
“72 seconds, 71 seconds……………” Lüyè’s countdown echoed in her ear again.
She glanced over; that girl’s face was twisted in mad excitement, her eyes almost bulging.
Seeing Yin Lin getting brutalized yet emerging unscathed made Lüyè’s heart race wildly, her nails digging into her arm hard enough to draw blood. Only this pain could restrain her overwhelming desire to ruthlessly torment the white-haired girl.
After being slammed into the ground by the aberrant’s alley-oop, Yin Lin managed to hold on to the Heaven-Splitting Spear she’d been charging. Without hesitation, she unleashed it at the aberrant above, who couldn’t dodge in midair.
The aberrant’s abdomen was pierced—a serious wound—but the Heaven-Splitting Spear became stuck in its belly.
Once it landed, the aberrant howled and ripped the Heaven-Splitting Spear out, spraying blood everywhere.
Then it hurled the Heaven-Splitting Spear right back—its speed so fast there was almost no time to dodge, even faster than when Yin Lin fired it. Aimed at her chest, Yin Lin dodged with all her might, but she was still too slow; the spear struck her high on the chest.
The newly raised magic shield lasted barely a fraction of a second before being shattered by the Heaven-Splitting Spear.
Just as the Heaven-Splitting Spear was about to pierce through her, a whip curled around the spear’s shaft, yanking it away and saving Yin Lin from a serious wound.
“Magical girls must be cherished! Killing magical girls is forbidden! Prohibited acts!” Lüyè shouted.
She didn’t interfere further, simply preventing the Heaven-Splitting Spear from crippling Yin Lin before resuming her spectator’s role.
She was very satisfied with Yin Lin’s shell-shocked, terrified expression—such a genuine look, not a hint of pretense.
So beautiful. So alluring!
She continued her chant: “58, 57……”
I would really just shoot the spear to that girl first, it become just annoying at this point -_-
