At this moment, the dust and ash on the ground no longer seemed settled. They began to move without any wind, as if being toyed with by invisible fingertips.
The surrounding withered branches and fallen leaves made a faint rustling sound, trembling as if in fear. They were pulled by a powerful gravitational force, pointing toward the direction of Sefina’s wand.
A heavy sensation, like the oppressive stillness before a storm, shrouded the area. It was the precursor to highly concentrated wind elements growing frantically restless.
In the next instant, the wand in Sefina’s hand pointed precisely at Feliel in the sky.
Sixth-rank Magic — **[Wind Blade Tornado]**
“Vrrr — !!!”
Accompanied by the intense sound of air being torn apart, a miniature tornado composed of countless azure wind blades swept toward Feliel with staggering speed, like a fierce beast breaking free from its chains!
Everywhere the tornado passed, the ground was carved into deep ravines.
The surrounding trees looked as if they were being sliced by invisible blades; branches and leaves flew everywhere while wood chips splashed in all directions.
Feliel’s expression changed drastically, but her survival instinct allowed her brain to make an ultimate judgment in an instant.
The only firebird remaining beneath her feet had no time to carry her high enough into the air to evade such a wide-range attack.
In a flash, Feliel made an extremely bold, even insane decision!
She kicked off the back of the firebird and actively leaped toward the side and rear. Utilizing the acceleration of a free fall, she attempted to escape the main attack range before the tornado closed in!
The firebird she used as a stepping stone flailed its wings. Under her control, it crashed head-on into the violent Wind Blade Tornado.
The scorching firebird and the savage wind blades collided and annihilated each other.
Fire and azure light intertwined frantically, erupting into a blinding glare and a chaotic flow of energy.
In a split second, the firebird’s body was torn apart and devoured by the countless wind blades, turning into a ball of fire that expanded before being quickly extinguished.
To a certain extent, it did slightly hinder the vanguard of the Wind Blade Tornado, earning Feliel a negligible yet vital instant.
However, it was only an instant!
The edge of the tornado, which had shrunk slightly but remained lethal, chased after the falling Feliel like it was wielding countless scythes. The sharp wind blades arrived quickly!
While in mid-air, Feliel barely managed to raise her right hand. A faint azure light glowed at the tip of her wand as she instant-cast a third-tier wind element defensive magic, **[Wind’s Protection]**.
A thin layer of wind elements immediately wrapped tightly around her.
But this low-tier magic, cast in such a hurry, was as fragile as paper before a sixth-rank spell cast with Sefina’s full strength!
“Squelch — !”
The wind blades tore through that pathetic shield with ease, like a hot knife through butter, and then cut into Feliel’s body without mercy!
“Ugh, ah — !”
Feliel let out a muffled groan of pain. In an instant, countless fine yet deep bloody gashes appeared on her exposed limbs, back, and cheeks.
Her clothes were shredded into rags. Blood gushed from the wounds like a fountain, and the intense pain almost caused her to faint.
Fortunately, her descent was fast enough! Just before being completely swallowed by the Wind Blade Tornado, her body finally neared the ground.
Supported by her will to live, she managed to gather a final sliver of mana at the last moment to create a small cushioning cyclone beneath her.
“Bang — !”
Feliel slammed heavily onto the scorched ground.
Although she avoided breaking any bones, the massive impact and the wounds covering her body caused her vision to go dark, and she nearly lost consciousness.
She prostrated on the ground, coughing violently. Every breath she took pulled at the wounds across her body, bringing a piercing pain.
She tried to stand up, but her limbs were weak and powerless. Blood continued to seep from her wounds, gathering into a small, dark red pool on the ground.
Feliel looked up. Her messy black hair stuck to her blood-stained face. Her eyes were filled with anger and resentment, along with a trace of the despair one feels at the end of the road.
Right now, she was in an incredibly wretched state. Even maintaining her prostrate posture was exceptionally difficult.
Sefina walked slowly from a distance, her steps steady. Her soles stepped on the scorched earth and crushed leaves, making a faint rustling sound.
Her petite figure, reflected by the moonlight and the lingering sparks, carried a sense of decisive elegance and indifference.
Sefina’s wine-red eyes lowered slightly, looking at Feliel on the ground as if she were a tattered rag doll. There was no trace of pity in them, only an icy killing intent, as if she were looking at a corpse.
She still held her wand tightly, clearly not intending to give her opponent any chance to breathe.
‘Is it over?’
Feliel watched death approaching step by step. Her consciousness was somewhat blurred due to blood loss and pain.
‘No… I can’t… Campbell…’
A strong sense of unwillingness and obsession burned like a final flame within her fading will.
She suddenly gritted her teeth and used her last bit of strength. Her right hand trembled as it reached into the inner side of her torn sleeve, pulling out a magic scroll that looked ancient and weathered.
The scroll was made of some unknown beast skin, its edges already worn. The surface was inscribed with dark purple runes so complex they could make one feel dizzy.
Feliel injected all the mana left in her body into the scroll. The runes on it immediately lit up with a blinding dark purple light, wriggling as if they had come to life!
Then, using the last of her strength, she threw the scroll with all her might toward Sefina, who was closing in.
Sefina sensed something was wrong the moment Feliel pulled out the scroll!
The level of mana radiating from that scroll made her feel an immediate threat!
Her expression shifted slightly. Almost at the same time the scroll was thrown, she raised her wand, intending to instant-cast a low-tier spell to destroy it before it could be fully activated.
However, she was one step too late.
In mid-air, the scroll seemed to reach a critical point. The dark purple light erupted suddenly, like a miniature black sun!
A massive dark Array unfolded instantly on the empty ground in front of Sefina. The Magic Array Pattern glowed like burning nether-fire, illuminating the distorted space around it!
“Roar — !!!”
A vicious roar suddenly exploded from the center of the Array. The mana pressure contained within this roar caused even Sefina to feel a tremor in her heart!
Then, under Sefina’s solemn gaze, a massive creature slowly crawled out from the center of that dark purple Array.
It was a death dragon!
The death dragon’s enormous body was like a moving hill. Dark purple scales covered its entire body, yet they lacked any luster. In many places, the pale white skeleton beneath was even exposed.
Its limbs were thick and powerful, and its sharp claws dug deep into the ground, leaving behind profound furrows. A pair of massive darkwings hung limply behind its back.
At this moment, the death dragon opened its bloody maw, revealing jagged teeth and emitting a visible black death energy.
This was a seventh-tier summoning magic scroll. It was a life-saving trump card Feliel had obtained a long time ago.
She had always been reluctant to use it, and it was only today, having been pushed into a corner by Sefina, that she was forced to deploy it.
The mana required to activate it was enormous, nearly draining everything she had, but she had succeeded!
Sefina stopped in her tracks. Her wine-red eyes narrowed slightly as she stared at the massive creature before her, which radiated a thick aura of death and destruction.
She gripped her wand a little tighter, her expression growing more serious.
Sefina could clearly feel that the energy level emitted by this summoned death dragon had definitely reached the seventh tier, and perhaps it was even higher.
This would be a fierce battle, far more difficult and dangerous than the one before.
