The Buddha still favors me!
The bald man looked at the unlocked lock again, a fierce look on his face, and rushed out without hesitation!
Hesitation leads to defeat; he clearly understood this principle…
At such a critical moment, the people in the prison would never expect him to escape again!
And the little demon opposite had turned her back, squatting on the ground, seemingly teasing the silverfish in the corner, completely oblivious to what was happening on this side.
Charge!
He activated his cultivation to the extreme, his entire body transforming into a fierce gale, rushing straight out of the prison door!
This time, he planned to launch a lightning strike!
However…
“Help! He’s escaping again—”
The alarm bells once again rang throughout the heavenly prison.
The bald man paused, but being as quick-witted as he was, he immediately thought of a solution!
He ran as fast as he could towards his cell, pulled the door, and prepared to hide back in his room.
However, he pulled the iron door for a long time but couldn’t move it.
He looked down—
“[Buddhist profanity]!”
Which damned bastard had locked his cell door again!
The jailers swarmed in, and the bald man leaned tightly against the cell door, on the verge of tears.
“You might not believe me, but I…”
“Shut up!”
The jailers said nothing, giving the bald man a severe beating.
This guy just never learns!
This time they hit him even harder; even with his Buddhist Vajra protection, the bald man was in excruciating pain.
“Thud—”
With a muffled sound, the bald man was thrown back into his cell, and this time, for good measure, the jailers added eight more intricate large locks to his door.
“Try running again if you dare!”
After cursing him fiercely, the jailers left again.
However, not long after they left…
To the bald man’s astonished gaze—
“Click~”
“Click~”
“Click~”
Several large locks opened in succession.
“Buddha, have you not given up on your disciple yet?!”
The bald man knelt on the ground, kowtowing loudly several times into the air, crying with excitement.
But this time, he was smarter; he didn’t rashly open the door and escape again.
Instead, he looked at the cell opposite.
“Evil creature, stop pretending, let’s make a deal,” he said somewhat awkwardly.
He could tell that the previous two shouts had come from Jiang Ke’er.
It was Jiang Ke’er’s cries for help that had ruined his escape plans at critical moments, one after another.
Jiang Ke’er turned around, no longer pretending to be asleep, and raised an eyebrow, looking at the bald man opposite.
“Don’t shout this time, I’ll give you some benefits.”
“What benefits?” Jiang Ke’er asked.
“Take these,” the bald man swiped his waist, and somehow pulled out two magic crystals, which he tossed into Jiang Ke’er’s cell.
Jiang Ke’er picked up the magic crystals, looking thoughtfully at the bald man’s waist.
“Alright, I’ll accept your bribe.”
“You’re not allowed to shout this time!” the bald man said fiercely.
“Don’t worry, I won’t shout this time,” Jiang Ke’er nodded in agreement.
The bald man sighed in relief after getting Jiang Ke’er’s promise.
He cautiously removed the large locks and silently stepped out of the cell.
Jiang Ke’er watched him walk away.
When she figured he was far enough, she smiled faintly and opened her own cell door.
She walked to the opposite cell door, reattached and locked the eight locks.
Then she returned to her own cell and locked her door.
She took a deep breath, flexing her dantian:
“Help—he’s escaping again!”
The bald man rushed back like the wind, not even having time to curse Jiang Ke’er for breaking her word.
He immediately ran straight for his cell.
When he saw the locks…
“[Buddhist profanity] [Buddhist profanity]!”
Buddha, you’re screwing with me!
This beating was more brutal than any before.
The already enraged jailers showed no mercy this time, even grabbing iron hammers and smashing them at the bald man’s head.
When the hammer hit the bald man’s head, his Vajra Body Protection activated, emitting a “thud~” like a ringing bell.
Though the bald man was incredibly resistant, a few hammer blows still knocked him out.
Jiang Ke’er, quick-witted, seized the moment.
She activated her pilfering skill, directly snatching a small piece of cloth from the bald man’s waist.
Once in her hand, Jiang Ke’er realized this small piece of cloth was actually a brocade pouch.
The pouch was pressed very flat, blending in with the bald man’s belt, making it very difficult to notice.
Inside the pouch, however, was another world entirely.
Jiang Ke’er opened the pouch and looked inside, discovering it contained about one cubic meter of space.
It was a spatial bag!
The spatial bag held a dozen magic crystals and a fist-sized, fiery red pearl.
The pearl felt very warm to the touch.
When she touched it, even the cold poison in Jiang Ke’er’s body seemed to dissipate considerably… though touching it for too long would make one sweat profusely.
Jiang Ke’er threw both the small cloth bag and the red pearl into her inventory.
Then she lay back on her straw bed, leisurely watching the jailers throw the half-dead bald man back into his cell.
This time, the jailers put on 108 locks, and there seemed to be some kind of formation vaguely formed between the locks.
Even Jiang Ke’er’s lock-picking skill would be repelled by this formation.
It seemed these were not locks that could be opened with novice lock-picking.
No matter, she just needed more practice.
She began practicing her lock-picking skill on her own cell door, opening and relocking it.
After an afternoon of this, she easily leveled her lock-picking to intermediate.
Intermediate lock-picking could now open the 108 combination locks on the opposite cell door, but Jiang Ke’er didn’t open them.
The person opposite was unconscious; opening the locks now would be too suspicious.
Although there were surprisingly few guards in the heavenly prison, only entering when the alarm sounded, it wasn’t enough for her to just walk in and out freely.
In the evening, a group of monster-capturing team members and monks in robes entered the heavenly prison and took away the unconscious bald man.
Judging by their arrival time, Jiang Ke’er deduced it was now the hour of You (5-7 PM), and this group was related to the mission the bald man had mentioned.
“Jue Hong, why did you pass out?”
The old monk channeled spiritual energy into the bald man’s body to help him regain consciousness, asking with concern.
“Master!”
The bald man hugged the old monk and cried out.
As soon as the bald man woke up, scenes from the prison flashed before his eyes.
Beaten, severely beaten, beaten to within an inch of his life.
He was beaten so badly he nearly went to meet the Buddha.
Fortunately, he held out until the hour of You and completed his mission.
“I didn’t disgrace the mission!” the bald man sobbed, reaching for his waist.
“…”
Old monk: “???”
Everyone: “…Understood.”
