The shower water rushed in the bathroom, floating out through the door panel, mixed with the fuzzy lines from the living room TV.
Mu Yan curled in the sofa, half a grilled corn clutched in her hand.
Is she really showering, or deliberately hiding from me? …Should be showering.
She lowered her head glancing, the corn long gnawed to only a slick bare cob, not even corn kernel scraps left.
She actually hadn’t realized when she finished gnawing it.
Outrageous. I’m a doll, just now my heart actually thump-thumped.
Definitely the system bugged.
Now should ponder some proper business, like my little sister, why would she do that kind of thing to me?
Click, the bathroom door opened.
Mu Siyi walked out wrapped in a body of steam, wearing that pink cat-ear pajama set.
Hair still dripping water, droplets sliding down the neck into the collar; she clutched a towel standing at the doorway, gaze drifting around not daring to look toward the sofa, even the pair of soft fluffy cat ears on her head drooping along, like an elementary student caught after causing trouble.
“Jiejie… the thing just now, sorry.”
Mu Yan set the corn cob on the coffee table, slowly wiping her fingers, eyelids not even lifting, only raising her chin toward the side. “Mm. Your chicken wings, placed here.”
Mu Siyi shuffled over sitting down, picked up the chicken wing box yet didn’t open it, fingertips picking back and forth at the lid edge, picking until the plastic box squeaked.
“Mu Siyi.”
“…Ah?” The little girl’s shoulders suddenly trembled.
“You kissed me, touched me, even undid my clothes buttons.”
Mu Siyi’s face whooshed flushing red, mouth opening wanting to defend, blocked back by one sentence from Mu Yan.
“Do you usually play like this with classmates too?”
“How is that possible!”
“Then you only do this to me?”
“Because Jiejie you…”
“I what?” Mu Yan raised her eyes glancing at her, tone flat as asking what to eat today. “Look easy to bully? Or look very tempting?”
The words coming out, the air even quieted for two seconds.
The chicken wing box in Mu Siyi’s hand smacked back onto the coffee table, blush burning from the cheeks all the way to the ear roots, even the neck root flushed through.
She buried her head, fingers twisting together, pinching two deep dents into the throw pillow corner.
“Then what flavor do you think I am?” Mu Yan suddenly added another sentence.
Mu Siyi abruptly raised her head, eyes widening round. “…What?”
“You already used hands and mouth, should have some feedback right.” Mu Yan said with complete seriousness.
“What flavor is Jiejie?”
Mu Siyi’s whole person stiffened on the sofa, face red enough to smoke, opening her mouth for a long time squeezing out one sentence, voice small as a mosquito.
“Just… cool, slippery… like a lychee just peeled from the shell…”
“…Enough, don’t say anymore.” Mu Yan interrupted her. “No need to describe this detailed, like a food review.”
“You were the one who told me to say it!” Mu Siyi grabbed the throw pillow throwing it at her.
Mu Yan reached out steadily catching it, setting it on her knees, movements neither hurried nor slow.
“Okay, taste evaluation ends here. Change the question.”
She raised her eyes looking at the person opposite.
“Just now on the sofa, what were you originally planning to do next?”
Mu Siyi’s movements instantly froze.
She stood in front of the coffee table, hanging her head, the cat ear tips on the pajamas trembling lightly.
Quiet for several seconds, then opening her mouth muffled, tone full of panic:
“I really don’t know… at first just seeing you squatting there watering succulents, dazed and easy to bully, wanted to scare you from behind. Result hugging on… your body cool and silky, sticking close especially comfortable, I just… just wanted to touch a couple more times. When I came to my senses, my hand had already pulled your collar bow. I really don’t know how it became like that.”
“This is pushing your luck?” Mu Yan raised an eyebrow.
“If I didn’t stop you, what were you planning to do next?”
Mu Siyi awwed covering her face, voice leaking from between her fingers. “I don’t know! Don’t ask anymore! I was wrong! I really was wrong isn’t that enough!”
She simply squatted down, burying her face into her knees, cat ears hanging from the hair gaps, voice muffled:
“Jie you finished interrogating? Finished then just give me a quick end, I’ll find a crack in the ground to drill into.”
Footsteps slowly approaching.
Mu Yan walked stopping in front of her, looking down for a while at the little girl who had curled herself into a ball, then reaching out, clutching her wrist lightly lifting up.
“Get up. Squatting on the ground what does it look like.”
She casually picked up the throw pillow that had fallen on the ground, stuffing it back into Mu Siyi’s arms.
“Enough. Puberty brain glitch, normal phenomenon.”
Mu Siyi revealed half a face from behind the throw pillow, eyes red, still a bit of disbelief. “…You’re not angry?”
“Wasn’t angry to begin with.”
Mu Yan turned sitting back on the sofa, picking up the iced cola drinking a sip, tone flat as lecturing.
“I’m your jie. Besides that pile of descriptions of yours just now, although a bit outrageous, I can roughly understand.”
“Really not angry?” The little girl moved the throw pillow down a bit, revealing her whole face, eyes sparkling.
“Not angry. But there’s a condition.”
“What condition?”
Mu Yan set down the cola can, raising her eyes looking at her, tone still that ripple-less appearance:
“Later if you want to use hands and feet on me again, report in advance. Just say Jiejie, I want to kiss you once this kind. I agree then okay, if I don’t agree then endure it.”
Mu Siyi froze for two seconds, almost thinking she heard wrong. “…You would agree?”
“Depends on the situation. Depends on mood, depends on your performance.”
The little girl hugging the throw pillow stood there, the blush on her face not completely faded, yet the cat ears on her head quietly perking up.
She pursed her lips, tentatively opening her mouth:
“Then I apply now. Jiejie, I want to kiss you once.”
“Rejected.”
“Why!”
“Chicken wings gone cold.” Mu Yan raised her chin toward the coffee table. “First go microwave thirty seconds, eat full then talk other things.”
Mu Siyi picked up the chicken wing box walking toward the kitchen, after two steps looking back again, corners of her mouth curling so high they couldn’t be pressed down. “Then after I finish eating I’ll apply again! You stand by first, don’t shut down!”
“…I don’t need to shut down. I’m a person.”
The microwave hummed starting to turn.
Mu Siyi leaned by the bar, through the half-open kitchen window, sneakily glancing at the person in the living room.
Mu Yan was tidying the cola cans and corn cob on the coffee table, the maid outfit apron ties still crooked knotted at the back of the waist, the headband who knows where taken off, black hair scattered in front of her shoulders.
“Jiejie.”
“…Mm.”
“You just now said I’m puberty brain glitch.” Mu Siyi’s voice floating over through the humming microwave, carrying a bit of smile. “Then you? Your heartbeat just now… did it speed up that tiny bit? Just a tiny bit.”
The movement tidying the coffee table paused half a second.
Mu Yan set the throw pillow back in the sofa corner, turning around looking toward the kitchen side, tone still steady and even, not a bit of ripple audible.
“The microwave rang.” She said. “Your chicken wings are heated.”
