When Movira returned, she found Seraphina sitting on the bed holding a book, her gaze somewhat distant and lost in thought.
“I’m back.” Her voice pulled Seraphina out of her reverie.
Seraphina put down the book and looked up at Movira. “Um… Sister, I want to write a letter to Lina. I’m a little worried about how things are going on her side. But she’s in the Demon Realm, so this letter…”
“Do you want to send her a letter?” Movira placed the breakfast on the table. “That’s simple. We can use magic to teleport it. However…”
She immediately added, “I have to be especially careful when using magic here. Sending a letter is fine, but direct conversation isn’t possible.”
Seraphina was already quite pleased upon hearing this. After all, she hadn’t expected to be able to send the letter at all in the first place.
“Great! Being able to send a letter is enough!”
“Mm. Then eat first. Once you’ve eaten and regained your strength, you can take your time writing it.”
As she spoke, Movira walked over to the bed.
Seraphina nodded and was about to lift the blanket to get out of bed, but the moment she moved, Movira gently pressed a hand on her shoulder.
“Don’t move! I already told you, you’re staying in bed all day today. You’re not going anywhere!”
She set up the small table and placed it steadily in front of Seraphina. Then she brought over the still-warm breakfast from the large table piece by piece and arranged everything neatly.
“There. Eat up.”
Movira sat down on the edge of the bed. “I’ll keep you company.”
Seraphina looked at the steaming, clearly carefully chosen meal in front of her, then quietly glanced at Movira sitting beside her.
“Mm, okay.”
The meal wasn’t particularly lavish, but it still dispelled the remaining fatigue and chill in her body.
After she finished breakfast, Movira naturally cleared the table, then handed her paper and a pen. The intention was obvious.
The letter mostly contained simple things—reporting that she was safe and so on.
At the very end, her pen tip paused. There seemed to be more she wanted to say that never made it onto the paper, but she still gently set the pen down, carefully folded the letter, and placed it into the envelope.
“It’s done.” She handed the letter to Movira.
The other woman took it and then added, “You probably won’t get a reply. After all, there isn’t anyone over there as strong as me.”
“Geez! Sister, you’re so shameless!” Hearing Movira’s utterly immodest words, Seraphina couldn’t help rolling her eyes at her. Then, as if thinking of something else—
“Um… I want to add a few more words.”
“Hm?” Movira deliberately held the envelope farther away and looked at Seraphina with a mischievous grin. Her tone quickly turned coaxing. “Then~ are you still going to call me shameless?”
“Mm… I won’t say it anymore! Sister, give it back to me please!”
Seraphina’s body was still weak, so she could only sit on the bed and reach out with her small hand to try to retrieve it. But how could she possibly succeed?
Seeing her look so embarrassed and helpless—so pitiful—Movira, having received the answer she wanted, stopped teasing and handed the letter back.
“See? Wouldn’t it have been better if you’d said that from the start!”
Once the letter was back in front of her, Seraphina quickly snatched it, afraid Movira might suddenly change her mind.
After confirming it was safely in her hands and wouldn’t be taken away again, Seraphina stuck her tongue out at Movira. “Sister is too mean!”
Movira didn’t react much. It was enough to stop while she was ahead.
Seraphina added a few more lines saying there was no need to reply and not to worry. After reading it over several times and confirming there were no problems, she handed it back to Movira.
Then, the letter vanished without a trace in Movira’s palm.
This made Seraphina’s eyes widen in surprise. “It’s sent just like that? There wasn’t even any mana fluctuation!”
Movira withdrew her hand and said calmly, “Mm… It’s just a little trick.”
Seraphina couldn’t help pressing further. Her body leaned forward unconsciously, her eyes filled with curiosity. She had always felt that Movira was incredibly strong and knowledgeable, but she had no real sense of exactly how strong or knowledgeable.
“Sister, what level is your actual strength…?”
“Mm.” Seeing her expression, the corners of Movira’s lips curved upward. “Without any exaggeration, at my peak, no one on this entire land was a match for me!”
“Tch! You’re bragging! But… ‘peak’?” After voicing her doubt, Seraphina sharply caught onto the word. She tilted her head. “Why? Why say ‘peak’? Doesn’t that mean right now isn’t your peak?”
She reached out and gently tugged at Movira’s sleeve. This slightly dependent little gesture had become increasingly natural for her lately.
Movira’s gaze fell on Seraphina’s fingers gripping her sleeve before she looked away again. She simply shook her head lightly without offering an explanation.
Seeing Movira stay silent, Seraphina felt like something was being hidden from her.
However, noticing the faint dimness in Movira’s eyes, she swallowed the question that had been on the tip of her tongue.
“Alright then.”
She still had no concrete idea of Movira’s true strength. But she thought of another person. “Mm… What about Dekalorin? She was the previous Saintess and should be very strong, right!”
Since she couldn’t get a clear answer, she might as well use someone else as a reference!
“Her?” Movira let out a soft snort, her tone carrying clear disdain. “Back then she still needed to rely on weapons that the humans had poured all their strength into creating just to barely hold her own against me. Without external help, she’s not worth mentioning!”
As she spoke, she reached out and tucked a stray lock of hair beside Seraphina’s cheek behind her ear. The action felt completely natural.
“Ahem!” This intimate gesture made Seraphina’s earlobes grow slightly warm, but she didn’t pull away. Instead, she continued asking, “Then what about the current Saintess, Saint Eustacia?”
Hearing this name, Movira’s expression grew solemn for a brief moment before returning to its usual composure, now carrying a hint of teasing.
“Her? She can only hide in the back and release some painless, tickling magic from afar. That’s the only troublesome part. As long as I get close to her… she’s not worth fearing!”
“Oh…”
From these words, Seraphina seemed to infer that Movira was probably skilled in close-combat… magic?
A close-quarters mage?
She then recalled something she had read in the book. “Mm, then what about the Elf Queen in the Miracle Forest? I heard she has lived for a very, very long time and her strength is unfathomable.”
“Elf Queen? Hehe!”
Movira couldn’t hold back and laughed out loud, as if she had heard something ridiculous. She even reached out and ruffled Seraphina’s soft hair, messing up the smooth strands.
“Those ‘primitive people’ hiding deep in the mountains and ancient forests? They only know how to fiddle with flowers and plants using their weird tricks all day. Their queen probably couldn’t even beat Erasia!”
As she finished speaking, both Movira’s movements and smile suddenly froze. Just now she…
