Inside the luxurious palace, the air was thick with the scent of magical potion perfume.
Multiple open bottles of the fragrance were scattered across the bed.
Aililan had foolishly believed she could purify everything, yet she had overlooked a crucial fact—purification was a one-time occurrence, whereas the assault of the magical potion perfume in the room was continuous.
‘Chronic poisoning, perhaps?’
Business, money… By establishing a good relationship with Yegeerlinai, the distribution channels for the perfume would open, paving a path to earning a fortune every day.
She could develop Atester, arm the military, and push deep into the Beastman Plains…
Aililan’s mind was flooded with thoughts of business and profits. However, at this moment, her state of mind had become somewhat hazy.
The palace interior felt warm and fragrant. Though her favorite was the Saint of Temperance, Lizberu, she suddenly realized that the Diligence Saintess, Yegeerlinai, possessed a unique charm of her own—one that made it impossible to look away.
In contrast to the maturity of the Saint of Temperance, Yegeerlinai was of the energetic, youthful, and petite type, possessing an excellent personality.
She had light gold hair that reached her waist, and her eyes were as bright as morning stars. Her beautiful face still held a hint of childishness, and she often acted as Aililan’s older sister.
Yegeerlinai was a Saintess who specialized in close-quarters combat. Clad in her Saintess Battle Armor, it was hard to tell, but though her frame was petite, her proportions were perfectly balanced.
“Diligence, believe me, we will definitely make a great deal of money, heh… hehe…”
Aililan had spoken so much that her throat felt parched.
“Mhm, I believe you.”
Yegeerlinai reached out, intending to take a perfume bottle from Aililan’s hand to examine it, but her fingertips accidentally brushed against the back of Aililan’s hand.
Normally, such a thing would be laughed off. Now, however, the state of the two women was clearly abnormal. Yegeerlinai even shifted forward, sitting closer to her. Aililan didn’t think there was anything wrong with it. Or rather—she didn’t feel any resistance.
Neither of them felt anything was amiss, nor did they mention whether they were under the influence of the perfume again. Unconsciously, the two drew closer and closer until they were pressed tightly against each other.
“…Linai?”
“Mm? What is it, Chastity?”
“Are we… sitting a little too close?”
Yegeerlinai smiled. “Chastity, why would you think that? We are the best of sisters.”
“But…”
“It’s just leaning against each other. It won’t hurt anything.”
Gradually, things seemed to spiral out of control. The main factor was that Aililan herself didn’t feel any aversion to it. Yegeerlinai’s beauty was, after all, right there in front of her.
“…Linai… you…”
“…Where are our clothes?”
Yegeerlinai’s cheeks were slightly flushed as she whispered, “Chastity, I just felt a bit tired… Who wears clothes when they go to sleep? Don’t you agree?”
Aililan: “…”
“Diligence, why are you acting like an octopus?”
Yegeerlinai muttered softly, ‘I just want to feel it.’
“Chastity, you’re wrong. I’m not an octopus. I just feel that you’re so wonderful… I don’t want to miss anything.”
“Diligence, why did you crawl on top of me?”
“You know me, Chastity. I’ve been trying to lose weight lately. Help me see if I’ve gotten thinner.”
Aililan: “…”
“Diligence, I’ve been trying to lose weight lately, too.”
“Mm, then you come up. I’ll see if you’ve gotten thinner.”
***
The night passed.
The first ray of morning sunlight filtered through the stained-glass windows. The room was a scene of lingering intimacy. Fortunately, this was the Saintess’s private quarters; without a summons, no servant would dare enter. Otherwise, this scene would have certainly been discovered.
In truth, Aililan had been awake for a long time. She also knew that Yegeerlinai was definitely awake. It was just that neither of them dared to open their eyes.
‘I hope this was all just a hallucination. Oh God. What exactly happened last night…’
It seemed as though everything had happened. A Saintess could not stay in bed forever.
“Whatever happens, happens.”
Aililan finally couldn’t help but move. She realized she wasn’t wearing a single stitch of clothing, so she stepped out of bed quietly, preparing to find her clothes.
On the bed, the Diligence Saintess’s brow was furrowed, as if she were undergoing a fierce internal struggle. Finally, she opened her eyes. Her gaze flickered away.
“Chastity… you’re awake?”
Aililan’s body stiffened. It took a long moment before she managed to force a smile.
“Mm… I’ve been awake for a while.”
Silence filled the air for a long time. Neither knew what to say. They say you can’t wake someone who is pretending to be asleep.
But Aililan had indeed helped Yegeerlinai “detox” toward the end. However, the atmosphere had already been set. It wasn’t a case of being completely lost in a daze; rather, in a state of conscious awareness, they had let things happen naturally.
The two dressed in silence. Aililan’s gaze suddenly fell upon the bed. There was a patch of blood there.
Perhaps out of respect for Aililan’s symbol of “Chastity,” Yegeerlinai had maintained a shred of rationality at the final moment. But she herself had given everything to Aililan.
Yegeerlinai saw the blood as well. Her cheeks instantly turned crimson. She quickly produced a Space Scroll. The entire bed was instantly pulled into the storage space.
“Don’t… don’t look. There’s nothing to see.”
Aililan was silent for a long time. Finally, she said, “Diligence… I will take responsibility for this.”
Yegeerlinai immediately frowned. “Responsibility for what? Who wants you to take responsibility?”
“Diligence…”
“Enough. This matter ends here.”
Aililan was at a loss for words. Yegeerlinai finished dressing and walked toward the door with large strides. However, after only a few steps, her brow furrowed, and she switched to small, careful steps.
Just before leaving, she suddenly stopped.
“This was something we both wanted. I don’t blame you. It’s just… I need some time to myself.”
Aililan nodded. “Mm.”
Yegeerlinai added one more instruction: “Don’t tell the other sisters. Don’t let them know about this, okay?”
Aililan was somewhat confused. “Why? Since it already happened, I can actually—”
She wanted to say she could take responsibility. But Yegeerlinai suddenly panicked, waving her hands frantically.
“No! If the sisters find out that I actually laid hands on you when you’re younger than me… if they find out I’m ‘grazing close to home’… they’ll beat me to death!”
Aililan: “…”
Yegeerlinai pleaded in a low voice, “Please, don’t say a word.”
With that, she left the room, her mind clearly weighed down. Her gait was still a bit strange. Clearly, such an injury could be fixed with a single Healing Spell.
Yet, to the outside world, she only said—she had drunk too much last night.
