“Hmm… Something like a figurehead grade director or something?”
Ye Xingyao pondered for a moment. She felt her self-assessment was fairly clear—as a Midnight-level Hunter, she indeed possessed extraordinary knowledge and experience, but she was still just a Light-Containing Level little girl. Even as a Star Elf, that fact couldn’t be changed.
“Oh, you probably don’t know yet just how much influence Star Elves have among the Elf race.”
“So many people actually believe in that baseless savior title?”
Ye Xingyao was noncommittal. How could she believe that she, a Light-Containing Level little baby, could save the Elf race and the world?
“Only you would say something like that…”
Hongye Qiu slapped her forehead and said irritably.
“No, that’s not right. The prophecy of the Star Elves seems to have been left by the common ancestor of the Elf race. Even during wars or splits, the clans in the great regions have strictly adhered to the warnings and prophecies left by their ancestors.”
Fumier shook her head, denying the Star Elf young lady’s somewhat self-deprecating remark, and explained on Hongye Qiu’s behalf.
“So the Human Alliance tested how effective your name was on those elves.”
“And the result?”
Ye Xingyao looked at Hongye Qiu’s half-smiling expression and felt something bad was about to happen.
“The result was remarkable.”
“So, little sister Ye Xin, the Human Alliance would even be happy for you to become a principal or something—it would give them enough samples while stabilizing those reserve forces. At the very least, becoming a School Board Member is a sure thing.”
Ye Xingyao listened to her explanation and felt something was off.
“What are these ‘reserve forces’?”
“Did you really think those elves caused such a huge mess, forcing many radical factions to step down, and that just because the Human Alliance was at fault and the main blame wasn’t on them, those elves could come to the Alliance’s schools to attend classes without paying any price?”
“Those guys will probably have to sign some contracts with the Human Alliance—for example, in certain emergencies or monster invasions, those half-elves must help the Human Alliance maintain environmental stability or something.”
Ye Xingyao and her sister simultaneously showed expressions of sudden realization after hearing Hongye Qiu’s explanation.
“So when you asked if you could have the right to pull some people aside individually, my answer is yes. You can do whatever you want, and the Human Alliance is even happy to see you willing to go through their connections.”
“Because I have you all by my side, plus the Magical Girls?” Ye Xingyao rubbed her chin and speculated.
“Very clever. When I first picked you out, I felt you were a clever one and would never get the short end of the stick.”
Hongye Qiu showed an approving expression. She hadn’t seen this girl’s edge in a long time. She had thought her little sister Ye Xin had become dull from indulging in beauty.
“Huh? What are you two talking about?”
Ye Xingling looked clueless. The two of them were talking in riddles, leaving her completely confused. She didn’t know if she should ask, but it seemed Sister Shiyue beside her and the vampire little girl rubbing her belly ahead were both calm.
Would that make her look stupid?
“Little Ye Xin, sometimes being overprotective of family isn’t a good thing.” A strange emotion flickered in Hongye Qiu’s eyes. Without looking at Ye Xingyao’s face, she reminded her.
“Of course I know. That’s why I brought her here.” “Then you explain it to her yourself.” “Oh.”
Ye Xingyao pouted, turned to look at her sister’s clear, untainted eyes, and let out a sigh.
“First, my dear sister, what do you think of the five of us in the Safehouse right now, from a strength perspective?”
“Well, I’m not counted… You said Sister Shiyue and Miss Fumier are both Entering Dream Grade. Sister, you can beat that Forest Elf and you’re a Midnight-level Hunter, plus Senior Hongye Qiu who has Star-Dark Grade strength. You should be able to dominate Satellite City, right?”
Ye Xingling mimicked her sister’s thinking pose, recalling the information her sister had hinted at, and inferred step by step.
“Mm, about that. Now what about adding the Magical Girl as an ally?” “Doesn’t that mean most of the high-end combat power in Satellite City is gathered here?”
Ye Xingling suddenly realized. So the people around her big sister were all this strong? But soon she felt a tinge of loneliness—it seemed she couldn’t help with anything… Of course, she hid that emotion well.
“So the Human Alliance needs to cooperate with us, even to show us goodwill. If we keep having no demands on them, they’ll instead suspect we’re plotting something uncontrollable.”
Ye Xingyao reached out and pinched her sister’s nose.
“How can this be? What bad intentions could we possibly have?”
Ye Xingling ignored her sister’s little interaction, pouted, and said with dissatisfaction. After all, they had been investigating and fighting monsters for the environment of Satellite City. How could the Human Alliance think of them that way?
These adults in the Human Alliance were so mean.
“Yes, I know Magical Girls have always loved peace and fought with all their might against monsters, but not many people know that.” At this point, Ye Xingyao hesitated. She was thinking about whether to bring up her sister’s scars now, but she couldn’t think of a gentler and more powerful explanation at the moment.
“It’s like your classmates at school—they will always fear unknown power more than they respect it. That’s human nature, and it’s the same for the Human Alliance. That’s precisely why your senior Qiluo chose to cooperate with me and Senior Hongye.”
“…”
Ye Xingling recalled the gaze of her classmates at school. She opened her mouth but didn’t know what to refute.
“So, gathering you all together to enter that Extraordinary Academy not only lets you gain some knowledge but also allows you to reach some understanding with the Human Alliance—maintaining a bit of mystery while showing goodwill to the Alliance. This is an absolutely worthwhile deal.”
“Deal?”
Ye Xingling keenly caught that word. She might be naive about worldly affairs, but she wasn’t stupid. As Ye Xingyao’s sister, she was quite shrewd.
“Yes, a deal. The Human Alliance wants to use my name to stabilize those students, so they have to accept my conditions. In turn, if we want a more convenient environment and some gray authority, we have to accept the Human Alliance’s supervision to a certain extent.”
As she spoke, Ye Xingyao shot a glance in Hongye Qiu’s direction.
‘How was that? I expressed myself well, didn’t I?’
“Hmph.”
Hongye Qiu let out a light snort, crossed her arms, and acknowledged her sister’s expression as if she were seeking praise through acting cute.
