Three days passed in the blink of an eye, and the day arrived for the new Demon Queen to inherit the crown.
On this day, all commercial activities within the Royal City were suspended.
From ministers and officials to street sweepers, all demon citizens put down their work, gathering in the largest square of the Royal City on paid leave, just to witness this momentous occasion symbolizing the changing of the dynasty.
Looking around, every face of the Demon Race was lit with excitement, for this was one of the rare moments they could lay eyes upon the Demon King’s dignified presence.
The largest square in the Royal City—Nika Daya Square—faced the grand and imposing Demon King Palace, its foundation of massive, dark-blue stones harder than steel rising to support the entire palace.
On either side of the palace’s main gate, the Dragonkin maiden Lilith had been appointed temporary officer to lead the troops.
She wore a command sabre and formal dress, her long Red Dragon Bloodline hair cascading down her shoulders, blazing like fire in the sunlight.
The demon soldiers under her command stood in formation, armored and solemn, the black plates covering their bodies reflecting a blinding glare in the sun.
At that moment, the Dog-headed Official in charge of the ceremonial opening looked at the pocket watch in his hand.
When the hands pointed to exactly 9 a.m., he lifted a heavy bell hammer and struck the massive Copper Bell before him.
Duang~~
The bell rang out, sending ripples through the air.
The ceremonial music band began playing classical music reserved for only the grandest occasions, as if welcoming the arrival of someone yet to come.
Under the gaze of the multitude, beneath the dome of the Demon King Palace, a delicate figure stepped from shadow into sunlight onto the balcony overlooking the square.
She wore a ceremonial dress made of twenty thousand silver pieces thin as cicada wings, her feet in crystal heels. The clear sound of her steps echoed into the ears of every demon citizen.
It was as if she stepped upon their hearts, tightening them with a mix of awe and anticipation as everyone stood on tiptoe, striving for a better view of their new Queen.
Sidella’s expression was cold, her delicate face untouched by makeup, skin smooth, long lashes fluttering—her first impression was one of icy pride and aloofness.
Between the silver pieces of her gown, translucent gauze connected the gaps.
As Sidella moved, pale skin flashed faintly beneath, her graceful figure revealed in tantalizing glimpses.
At her side, a Blood Queen in ceremonial dress bowed, head lowered, presenting a Gemstone Crown embedded with dozens of precious jewels—the supreme symbol of power.
Sidella’s gaze swept across the citizens in the square, finally settling on the restless Three Marquis in the crowd. Her lips parted, and a melodious voice like heavenly music, laced with magic, resounded across the entire square.
She began reciting the essential proclamation of the Succession Ceremony:
“Citizens, raise your heads! There is no need to mourn your former king, for today marks a new beginning……”
***
At the same time, within the Underground Prison of the Demon King City.
Thanks to the grand Succession Ceremony, Lilith had removed most of the guards from the prison, leaving it at its weakest in terms of surveillance.
All eyes were focused on the Royal City square, making it the perfect time for a jailbreak!
The only Dog-head Man left on guard made his routine rounds of each cell, everything as usual, nothing out of the ordinary.
Passing Heroine Huali’s cell as always, suddenly a hand reached through the bars, stopping the Dog-head Man in his tracks.
The Dog-head Man frowned, displeased.
“Human Race Heroine Huali, what is it? I’m warning you, today is a special day—don’t cause trouble. If you anger Her Majesty the Queen……”
“I…I just want to use the bathroom. I drank too much water this morning!”
Huali pressed her legs together, fidgeting awkwardly, cheeks flushing as she gripped the hem of her short skirt, stomping her feet in desperation.
Damn Lilith had rejected their request to watch the Succession Ceremony in the square, claiming “Human Race identity is inappropriate,” and sent both her and Penina back to their cells after use.
But what Lilith didn’t expect was that this action played right into Huali’s hands, coincidentally helping the two advance their jailbreak plan.
“Bathroom?”
The Dog-head Man frowned, recalling that Warden Lilith had ordered special attention to Heroine Huali before leaving. He hesitated, but didn’t refuse.
“Fine, wait here.”
He lowered his head, quickly picking out Huali’s cell key from the heavy ring at his waist.
He was just about to open the door for Huali.
Huali watched curiously, then suddenly praised the Dog-head Man.
“Wow, you found it so quickly! If it were me, I’d take forever.”
“Hmph! Don’t think the keys aren’t numbered, there’s a lot of tricks to these! ”
Puffed up by the compliment, the Dog-head Man replied confidently.
“Really? Then what about the key to Penina’s cell next door……”
“Here, it’s this one…”
The Dog-head Man froze.
The next moment, before he could react, a dark shadow smashed into his face.
The Saint Sword slammed down onto the Dog-head Man’s face, leaving a red streak.
His legs buckled, and he collapsed backward, skull thudding to the ground.
Huali moved swiftly, snatching the key ring back into her grasp.
At that moment, Penina, hearing the commotion from next door, anxiously asked what happened—receiving Huali’s confident answer.
“Heh heh~ Relax, I’ve got this!”
The sound of a key turning in a lock echoed down the silent corridor, followed by the thud of a lock hitting the ground.
All that was left was to escape from the Demon King City prison, still under Sidella’s Anti-Magic Domain—a challenge Huali had already prepared for.
“Follow me, I know an absolutely safe route!”
Strapping on the Saint Sword, Huali signaled for Penina to help move the Western-style Bed in the cell, lifting the floorboard to reveal a hidden tunnel below.
One after another, the two leaped inside.
“Ouch! That hurts…”
As always, Huali landed on her butt, pain shooting through her.
Dust billowed up, making Penina cough violently.
This hopeless, clumsy Huali.
“Penina, stick close!”
They crawled through the narrow tunnel, Huali leading, using the Saint Sword as a shovel to dig through the hard earth ahead.
Her backside stuck out, pushing dirt to the sides, the silky white over-knee socks tearing in several places against the sharp rocks.
The posture was awkward, to say the least.
The foolish Huali never realized that from this angle, her entire skirt bottom was exposed to Penina.
The fabric clung tight, outlining fullness and roundness.
Penina stared, unable to force her eyes away, thoughts drifting further and further…
[Penina, have you completed your three prayers for today?]
[Penina, as a Saintess Candidate, your daily duty is to listen to the wishes of every believer, and always wear a smile.]
[Penina! As a Church Saintess Candidate, you’re actually reading such unclean books? Are you trying to fall to depravity? This is blasphemy against the Goddess of Light! You’re forbidden from eating tonight!]
As one chosen since birth to become a future Church Saintess, Penina’s entire childhood was spent under strict rules, never allowed to do anything unbefitting a Saintess Candidate.
It was, without doubt, a tedious life.
But that night, the scene Sidella had shown her struck her heart with overwhelming force.
So even Huali could make that kind of expression?
As she thought this, Penina’s finger, as if moved by some unseen force, reached out and poked Huali’s pan.ts.
The touch came without warning.
Huali jolted as if electrocuted, eyes wide, legs clamping tight, voice trembling slightly.
“Pe…Penina, what are you doing all of a sudden!”
She turned and glared at Penina, cheeks flushed.
It was clear that Sidella had already left Huali a little jumpy.
Penina clearly noticed—a dark stain quietly spread across the soft white fabric…
She’s so easily aroused.
