The dagger churned inside the Licker’s brain.
Black, red, and white—fluids from the twisted mess of brain tissue mixed and flowed continuously from its mouth and chin.
With that level of force, Li Yiming was quite certain:
The Licker’s brain had definitely been turned into a pile of mush!
At the same time, under the influence of the T-virus, his strength was steadily increasing.
Every twenty seconds, blood makes a full circulation through the human body.
And with each full circulation, Li Yiming’s strength increased again!
This made suppressing the Licker even easier as time went on.
At first, he had almost lost his grip a few times, nearly letting the Licker break free.
But as time passed, Li Yiming’s strength had grown to the point where he could pin the Licker down firmly!
However, one troublesome problem remained.
Even though its brain had been mashed into pulp by Li Yiming, the Licker’s body was still instinctively retaliating!
In just the blink of an eye, it had slashed several deep gashes into Li Yiming’s body!
Agonizing pain radiated from various parts of his body.
But no matter how violently the Licker struggled to escape, Li Yiming never let go!
From beginning to end, his hand remained clamped tightly around the Licker’s neck.
“Hissss… ugh ugh!!!”
The Licker continuously let out pitiful, wheezing cries like a deflating balloon.
Though it lacked intelligence, its biological instinct to fear death still triggered a wave of panic.
Even as it screeched in terror, Li Yiming didn’t feel even a sliver of relief.
He knew full well—The Licker seemed to be on the verge of death, shrieking and thrashing.
But deep down, Li Yiming understood:
A deadlock like this wouldn’t finish the creature off.
There was only one way to kill it— Chop its head off.
So, after mashing its brain, Li Yiming decisively yanked the dagger out of the Licker’s skull!
In an instant, a large mess of white-and-red “tofu pudding” spilled from the gaping wound.
The moment he pulled out the blade, the injury under the Licker’s jaw began visibly healing!
White tissue buds rapidly sprouted and grew at an insane rate!
“F***ing hell, what a damn monster!”
Li Yiming cursed loudly at the horrifying sight.
This regeneration was way too overpowered!
At this rate, in less than half an hour, this thing would probably fully recover from a wound that should’ve been fatal!
Given the circumstances, he couldn’t afford to waste any more time.
With a sudden burst of strength, he forcefully shoved the Licker—still pressing down on him—off and onto the ground.
Before the Licker could struggle to get back up, Li Yiming stomped hard on its chest!
Strike while it’s weak—kill while it’s down!
Without hesitation, Li Yiming plunged his dagger straight toward the Licker’s throat!
However… The Licker didn’t just sit there and wait to die.
It raised both arms and crossed them in front of its neck to block the attack!
Li Yiming’s dagger went straight through the Licker’s forearms, piercing completely through!
His heart sank instantly!
That movement wasn’t just a random muscle spasm…It was a deliberate action, controlled by its nervous system!
Was this thing already starting to repair its brain?!
Li Yiming had stabbed with full force.
Now the dagger was lodged deep in the Licker’s arm—and it was incredibly hard to pull out!
“Rrrghhh!”
The Licker let out a guttural, inhuman growl.
Just as Li Yiming feared—its brain had already begun regenerating.
It flexed the muscles around its arms tightly, clamping down on the dagger like a vise.
There was no way the Licker would let Li Yiming take that weapon back easily.
In its primitive understanding:
Li Yiming without a weapon posed no threat.
The raw, crimson muscles on the Licker’s face twitched grotesquely—almost as if it was laughing at him.
But faced with this mocking expression, Li Yiming remained calm.
He didn’t bother trying to reclaim the dagger.
Instead, he let go of the hilt altogether.
And then—with a swift motion—he reached into his pocket and pulled out a hand grenade!
The Licker’s eyes widened in panic.
Li Yiming pulled the pin and stuffed the grenade right into the Licker’s gaping bloody maw!
One second… two seconds… three seconds…
He pressed the grenade deep into the Licker’s throat, silently counting in his mind.
When he reached four, he finally let go of the Licker’s jaw.
Then Li Yiming stood up—and delivered a powerful kick, sending the Licker flying!
BANG!
The Licker’s small, wiry body was launched through the air by the force of the kick.
As soon as the Licker was airborne, Li Yiming dove backward and hit the ground hard.
BOOM!
An explosion thundered behind him!
A wave of heat surged past his back— Along with several metal fragments that came flying with it!
“ARGH!! That freaking hurts!!”
Li Yiming lay on the ground, writhing in pain from the explosion.
He stayed there for a while, breathing heavily, before stumbling into a sitting position.
His mind was dazed and foggy.
At this moment, Li Yiming couldn’t care less whether the Licker was dead or not.
Compared to worrying about whether that monster—now blown to bits—had somehow survived…
Li Yiming was far more concerned about his own condition.
That grenade had almost taken him out along with it!
His back burned with intense pain.
And not just his back— His entire body was in pain; there wasn’t a single spot that didn’t hurt.
With injuries this severe, a normal person wouldn’t just be unconscious—they’d likely be dead on the spot.
But somehow, Li Yiming remained fully conscious.
He could clearly feel the T-virus rapidly multiplying inside him, working to repair wounds that would have otherwise been fatal.
Even just sitting there for a few moments, he could already see some of his injuries visibly beginning to heal.
Li Yiming let out a bitter, self-mocking laugh.
Just moments ago, he had thought the Licker was a monster.
But now, seeing his own wounds healing at a speed beyond anything humanly possible…
It seemed he himself had already stepped beyond the realm of normal humanity.
After a short rest on the ground, Li Yiming was able to stand up again.
Dragging his battered body, he slowly made his way toward the briefcase he had tossed aside earlier.
He couldn’t afford to lose the antivirus serum.
That was his lifeline.
As he passed by the shredded remains of the Licker’s corpse, Li Yiming caught a glimpse of something glowing faintly out of the corner of his eye.
“Is that… a crystal core?”
His attention was instantly drawn to the shiny little object.
He walked over to the pile of bloodied flesh the Licker had left behind , and from the gore, he picked out a sparkling, luminous stone.
