Pa-da……
Hua Jian shook her head hard and sat up from the ground.
All around her were clusters of white flowers, as if she hadn’t entered Bai Hua Zun Zhe’s Godsoul Space at all.
But when she stretched her arm toward the sky, Hua Jian saw the Colored Bracelet and Vines wrapped around her wrist, connecting to her chest.
This meant she had already entered the godsoul state.
She turned her head to look beside her; Shiqi was also rubbing her head and slowly climbing up with her sword slung over her shoulder.
It seemed they had arrived at their destination. Good.
Standing up, Hua Jian glanced around and caught a scene she didn’t know how to describe.
Not far away, two girls who looked almost identical were in the midst of a wild scuffle amid the flowerbeds, exchanging punches and kicks in a rough brawl.
Their moves were pure and unrefined—pulling hair and biting wrists included.
Just thinking that these two might be the Venerable’s Divine Soul she was supposed to find, Hua Jian suddenly felt a sense of disillusionment.
Venerable, ah, you’re really embarrassing yourself, you know!
“They… have never fought before?” Even Shiqi was so stunned by the scene that she didn’t know what to say.
She didn’t quite understand what the Venerable realm meant, but she knew a Venerable should be mighty and dignified.
But right now, the two girls rolling and fighting in the flowers looked nothing like Venerables at all.
“Don’t ask me, I have no idea what’s going on.” Hua Jian scratched her head, feeling that this was a minor issue. As long as they chose to ignore what they saw, it would be fine.
Better hurry over and break up the fight—sooner done, sooner the task is finished.
Lifting her somewhat cumbersome skirt, Hua Jian charged toward the two entangled girls. After carefully discerning them, she quickly recognized which was the Bad Venerable.
The Good Venerable had white eyes, while the Bad Venerable’s eyes were red—easy to distinguish.
Not just the eyes—the Bad Venerable’s body also had many reddish marks, another feature different from the Good Venerable.
“Venerable, I’ll help you!” Hua Jian rolled up her sleeves and joined the fray, wanting to lend the Good Venerable a hand.
And then, she was kicked squarely in the face by the Bad Venerable, sent flying straight out.
Don’t be fooled by the two Venerables fighting like little girls playing house—it’s only because their strengths were evenly matched.
Once a weaker girl like Hua Jian joined in, she was naturally sent flying.
She was kicked dozens of meters away, rolling a further ten meters before barely managing to steady herself and stand up.
Now things seemed a bit troublesome again.
“Shiqi, want to give it a try?” Hua Jian looked over at Shiqi not far away.
Shiqi hugged her sword, her expression suddenly that of a warrior facing death. Still, she didn’t shrink back, and walked step by step toward the battling Venerables.
But she had a feeling she’d be kicked even farther than Hua Jian by the Bad Venerable.
“Don’t come over, I still… can’t control her!” The Good Venerable, seeing Shiqi approaching, immediately exerted herself to pin the Bad version beneath her, turning her head to shout at Shiqi.
Her voice was full of effort; it was clear this fight had forced her to use her full strength.
But just as she spoke, the Bad Venerable seized the chance to counterattack, rolling and reversing their positions in an instant.
“You cowardly fool, go die!” the Bad Venerable shouted, choking the Good Venerable’s neck as she screamed, “All those emotions are useless. You’re so weak it disgusts me!”
Honestly, compared to the Good Venerable, the Bad Venerable was the truly emotional one!
Clang!
The Bad Venerable’s movements suddenly paused; she looked behind in disbelief.
Shiqi, who had just been warned by the Good Venerable not to approach, was already behind her, sword in hand, and had just smacked the back of her head hard.
Though the strike wasn’t powerful, it was truly humiliating.
For her, a Venerable’s Divine Soul, to be struck by a mere Spirit Master?
Intolerable!
She immediately wanted to teach Shiqi a lesson, to shatter this girl’s soul into pieces, but she quickly discovered she couldn’t move at all.
The Good Venerable, still pinned beneath her, clung tightly to her hands, her expression resolute, as if saying: If you want to hurt Shiqi, you’ll have to get past me first.
“You’d go so far to protect a human?!”
The Good Venerable didn’t answer, only tightened her grip, refusing to let the Bad Venerable harm Shiqi.
“I don’t care what’s going on between you two—I just want to know why you abandoned my old man!” Shiqi gritted her teeth and raised her sword, swinging it at the Bad Venerable’s head again.
“Whoever answers me, I’ll help!”
“Your dad? He’s just a mortal. Did you really think I cared about him?” The Bad Venerable snapped without hesitation.
She pondered for two seconds, then twisted the knife: “He’s dead, isn’t he? Good riddance!”
“He died because of you!”
“Heh, serves him right. Want me to make it up to you? Fine, call me ‘Mother’ first…”
But before the Bad Venerable’s words could get a rise out of Shiqi, the Good Venerable below her lost her composure first.
Her normally expressionless face twisted with anger. Fueled by rage, she burst forth with even greater strength, reversing the situation once more.
This time, she was ruthless, locking the Bad Venerable in a fierce Emotion-Binding Seven-Day Lock hold.
“Shut up!”
“You can’t seriously want to take care of her in place of her father, can you? Even if you want to, does she want to be your Daughter? To be the Daughter of someone who doesn’t even know how to be human?”
As the two Venerables started trading barbed words again, Shiqi didn’t know what to do.
Why did it sound like she really was about to get a second Mother?
“What are you waiting for? Go help your Mom!” Hua Jian puffed as she ran back. She finally realized: Shiqi was the secret weapon against Bai Hua Zun Zhe.
As long as Shiqi was around, the Good Venerable’s combat strength soared.
“I can’t hurt the Bad one!” Shiqi wanted to help, but even after two sword strikes, she’d done no damage at all.
Her Soulforce was just too weak to harm the Bad Venerable.
“You just keep attacking—I’ll figure out a way!” Hua Jian slapped Shiqi on the shoulder, and colorful flower Vines grew from the bracelet on Hua Jian’s wrist, climbing along Shiqi’s arm to the Black Sword.
Can’t break the defense? She’d just enchant Shiqi’s sword—then there’d be no need to fear she couldn’t hurt the Bad Venerable!
For this enchantment, Hua Jian gave her all, burning all the Spirit Liquid of the Soul she’d accumulated from absorbing Miasma not long ago, just to ensure one decisive blow.
Take this—it’s my all-out strike!
Shiqi felt the sword in her hand growing hot. Without overthinking it, she thrust it at the locked Bad Venerable.
“Don’t you dare…”
The Bad Venerable roared, but couldn’t defend, forced to take the enchanted strike head-on.
The blade pierced her chest, colorful light and deep red barriers clashing fiercely.
Normally, a Venerable’s Divine Soul would never be harmed by two Spirit Masters. But this was far from a normal situation.
The Bad Venerable was only a fragment of the Venerable’s Divine Soul—she wasn’t complete, her mind warped by Miasma.
In some matters, her obsession matched the Venerable’s—like that man who had taken her to see the outside world.
So, when Shiqi attacked her with her father’s sword, she truly lost her composure.
If it were just Shiqi, at worst she’d suffer a mental wound, but now Shiqi had help.
And her helper was an Illusory Dream Flower willing to risk everything. That changed everything.
Hua Jian had absorbed a terrifying amount of Miasma outside, converting it into Spirit Liquid of the Soul.
Now, pouring all of it into empowering Shiqi’s attack raised it to a terrifying level.
Shiqi gritted her teeth, pushing the sword forward little by little, the screech of friction filling the air as the colored light pressed the red barrier to breaking.
When the blade pierced the barrier and touched the Venerable’s skin, Shiqi felt even greater resistance—now, she was facing the true Divine Soul Defense of a Venerable.
But at this point, there was no reason to back down. All she could do was drive the sword into the Bad Venerable’s chest.
“For abandoning my old man, for looking down on my old man—go to hell!” Shiqi snarled through gritted teeth.
“You think you’re fit to be my Mother? Dream on!”
“Ah!!!”
With a furious shout, the blade pierced straight through the Bad Venerable’s chest—impaling the Good Venerable locked in front as well.
Staring at the two Venerables strung together like candied fruit, Shiqi was left dumbfounded, all her pent-up emotion released.
Pierced them both—now what?
Now, it was Hua Jian’s time to shine.
“Miasma, huh? Get out of the Venerable’s Divine Soul right now!”
With the Black Sword and Hua Jian’s Vines piercing into the Venerable’s Divine Soul, Hua Jian could now expel the Miasma completely.
Sensing imminent danger, the invading Miasma didn’t hesitate, abandoning the Venerable’s soul and scattering in all directions.
Blood-red mist gushed from the Bad Venerable’s orifices, while even the Good Venerable shed traces of Miasma.
Once free from the body, the Miasma quickly coalesced in the sky into a giant monster, looking like a grotesque assemblage of human parts.
It was truly unnerving, but a smile already curled at Hua Jian’s lips.
As long as it left the Venerable’s Divine Soul, this Miasma was a toothless tiger—she could easily deal with it.
