The piercing screech of twisted metal shattered through the train windows, nearly tearing everyone’s eardrums apart.
Sparks flew wildly, trailing behind the wheels like a blazing comet, while the scenery that had once flashed rapidly past their eyes suddenly slowed to an astonishing crawl.
These strangely familiar scenes replayed before Su Mu’s eyes once more, as if telling her she was still trapped within a dream.
But the tangible sensations—the scorching light assaulting her retinas—relentlessly reminded her that this was reality.

Just as Su Mu instinctively reached for her handheld device, a violent sensation of weightlessness swept over her entire body, causing an involuntary gasp to escape her lips and the device to slip from her grasp.
The entire rear section of the train abruptly derailed and shot high into the air, hurling everyone toward the roof of the train.
At that moment, panicked screams intertwined, confusion filling the air.
No one could comprehend the sudden disaster, but every soul was gripped by sheer terror.
At the front of the train stood the frail blonde girl, her figure still petite, but behind her had mysteriously appeared a colossal dragon phantom, as immense as a mountain.
The two-story-tall train appeared as insignificant as a worm before her, pinned mercilessly to the tracks by her single claw.
The carriages behind were catapulted skyward by the massive force of impact.
And when they inevitably crashed back onto the rails, those onboard would be crushed under the horrifying pressure…
As many had unconsciously begun to pray for their lives, fatefully, the one who could save them was also on this train.
The blazing heat radiating from the golden dragon phantom was abruptly driven back by another wave of heat erupting from the center of the train.
Strangely, despite the infernal temperatures, the train itself remained unscathed.
Upon closer inspection, a thin Magic Barrier enveloped the entire train.
Ye Wanqing’s brows furrowed tightly, beads of sweat forming on her forehead and instantly evaporating in the flames beside her.
It was obvious that maintaining this level of defense was a tremendous strain for her.
So this is what they call a Transcendent B-Class?
It seemed the title didn’t even begin to capture their true strength.
Ye Wanqing’s personal classification was simple: E Level meant total destruction of bricks, D Rank equated to leveling city blocks, and C-Rank was capable of demolishing buildings.
She had once thought B-rank at most meant annihilating entire cities.
But now, it appeared they far exceeded even that — powers so great that even smaller nations would struggle to withstand their wrath.
She wrapped the bottom of the train with Fire Wings made of Magic Power, but to prevent heat transfer, she had to expend additional effort to coat the train’s surface with a pure layer of Magic Power.
The toll this took was immense.
Compared to Edma’s destructive might, protecting these fragile humans from her was nearly impossible.
What troubled her most was that Su Mu had passed out during the earlier impact.
Su Mu’s Bu Mo Index was only barely 15%, higher than ordinary people, but still pitifully weak against this level of power.
Worse, she was seated right next to the window, and when the train reached its apex, her head slammed heavily against the glass, causing her to lose consciousness almost instantly.
But now, the only option was to stall Edma and wait for backup—there was no time to care about anything else.
Ye Wanqing tore open a hole in the roof of the train and escaped through it, her gaze burning fiercely as she glared at Edma.
“Edma, right? Aren’t you supposed to be in S City, held by Motes?”
At Ye Wanqing’s words, the girl who had been grinning arrogantly suddenly tensed, veins bulging on her forehead.
She responded with a cold smile: “Don’t ever mention that woman’s name again. And I haven’t given you permission to address me by my name.”
A low, rumbling roar vibrated from within the dragon’s belly like a beating drum, the sound wave enveloping Ye Wanqing and momentarily stunning her.
A B-rank magic field, even without deliberate release, could pierce through the defenses of C-level powerhouses like countless blades, forcing them into dire straits—let alone now, with Edma targeting Ye Wanqing.
Breathing grew difficult.
The flames of Magic Power she had summoned in resistance were being crushed little by little, curling helplessly at Ye Wanqing’s side like a tamed cat—no fluffing up, no hissing, not even a breath to spare.
“You should consider yourself lucky. I’m not here for you or that bunch of weaklings behind you this time. I’m only here for one person—the girl named Su Mu.”
Ye Wanqing’s eyes suddenly widened, a flicker of doubt and suspicion flashing across them.
“What do you mean? You know she’s a Magic Girl.”
“I don’t care about that now.”
Edma was fully aware that, as a former freak, attacking a Magic Girl was tantamount to declaring war on all Magic Girls.
She already had one unbeatable opponent in Motes openly against her, and there were countless other Freedom Magic users unknown to the public, far more troublesome.
But Edma had no choice—she had to do this to reclaim her freedom.
She had promised a woman who called herself Luo Linglan that she would bring Su Mu to her, in exchange for the Magic Power that could grant her freedom.
Just yesterday, she had been shackled, trudging on a dusty road thousands of miles away.
But within an hour after that woman released her Magic Power, she had reached near B City.
The magic radars designed to detect Magic Power users were effectively blind to them, ignoring their presence entirely.
If not for the most troublesome Magic Barrier outside the city, they could have entered much earlier.
Of course, for Edma, this was unfortunate—because Su Mu had just passed by her.
While Edma struck the deal with that woman, Su Mu had already boarded the high-speed train.
Edma had no choice but to chase for a long time before finally intercepting the train here.
Though Edma didn’t know why that woman wanted Su Mu, it didn’t matter—her task was only to bring the girl to her.
As for the ensuing retaliation, with Freedom Magic that could evade all restrictions, dealing with it would be no problem at all.
“Hand her over to me. I can’t guarantee what might happen to her, but if you refuse…”
A twisted grin stretched across Edma’s lips—surprisingly chilling coming from a little girl’s body.
“You will die. And don’t expect me to be considerate enough to move the battleground into the Dream World.”
Edma had no habit of slaughtering the weak, but she showed no mercy to the countless lives swarming like ants.
To her, they were nothing more than the tap of a foot.
And if she fought Ye Wanqing, she’d likely crush many such “ants.”
Hearing Edma’s words, Ye Wanqing bit her lip tightly.
What should she do?
