“What is that thing?”
“Another infected beast has appeared.”
“Don’t just stand there foolishly, run!”
Iana, flapping her wings behind her, was now charging toward the group of wild beasts like an arrow released from a bow.
“She’s coming at us, run!”
“I knew I shouldn’t have come to the Music Concert today.”
Everyone around Lilian was already terrified because they were close to the beasts, and now with Iana flying toward them, the crowd immediately descended into chaos.
Iana herself knew that her current state would be misunderstood by many, but she had no other choice.
After all, if she didn’t act now, Lilian would likely be swallowed whole by the bloodthirsty mouths of those beasts.
At this moment, Lilian’s eyes were tightly shut.
She had never expected so many beasts to surround those black-clothed men.
If she had prepared earlier, perhaps she wouldn’t be in such a state now.
Well, Lilian had to admit—even if she had known about the beasts in advance, her situation probably wouldn’t have been any better.
Her Bloodline Development was still quite low, and she hadn’t yet mastered the Lightbinding Art that Elia had taught her.
So, she was truly weak—so weak that even she found it unbearable to watch herself struggle.
That was why when Elia wanted to take her as a disciple, she accepted without hesitation.
But now, she was about to die.
She knew it was unlikely anyone would come to her rescue.
Just now, Lilian had overheard the crowd talking.
There weren’t even a single Knight Guard left inside the Music Concert venue—they had all been dispatched away.
It was clear now this was a planned, organized attack, though she had no idea what their true motive was.
Did they simply want to kill everyone present?
Or was there some other purpose?
Thinking about it now was useless—she was on the brink of death.
What good would pondering this do?
Lilian had tried to resist, but there were just too many beasts.
She didn’t even have space to cast magic.
The number was one thing, but more importantly, their target was clear—as if there was a locator inside her body, they lunged at her with deadly precision.
Just as Lilian awaited death, she felt a powerful gust of wind brush past both sides of her body.
That gust didn’t seem natural—it felt deliberately created.
Lilian wanted to open her eyes to see who had sent that wind, but her neck was trapped inside the bloodthirsty jaws of a beast.
She couldn’t manage it.
“Get the hell away from her!” A roar echoed throughout the Music Concert venue, laced with Iana’s fury.
Though Iana had no skills at the moment, after absorbing the Bloodstone and reaching ten percent Bloodline Development, her physical abilities were like that of a true Giant Dragon.
Iana believed that in terms of physical prowess, no one her age could rival her—not even the female leads from the original story.
The black wings behind her had grown several times larger than during the Holy Trial, and the dragon horns atop her head had also grown.
Her originally fair and delicate hands had transformed into sharp dragon claws, a swirling mixture of blood-red and black.
The moment Iana’s claws touched the beasts, blood burst forth from every contact point.
“Roar!”
The wolf-like beasts that had tried to bite Lilian were sent flying backwards, utterly dead.
Now free from danger, Lilian saw the one who had saved her.
But when she saw who it was, she was momentarily dazed, thinking she must be seeing things.
How could a silver-haired Dragon Maiden be here rescuing her?
At first glance, Lilian thought it was Ethelrina saving her once again, but upon closer inspection, many details didn’t match.
For example, Ethelrina’s chest was noticeably fuller than this person’s, and her pupils were a clear blue—not the fiery red of this woman.
But the biggest difference wasn’t any of those.
It was the powerful Demon Aura emanating from her, identical to the aura of the demons five hundred years later.
Lilian knew Ethelrina hated the Demons with a passion, so this Dragon Maiden couldn’t possibly be her.
Then who was this dragon?
Raised under human society’s influence, Lilian had always considered the Demons her greatest enemy as a member of the Saintess Family.
Yet now, she had been saved by a Demon Dragon that appeared out of nowhere.
Within just a moment, the wild beasts surrounded Iana again.
Iana flapped her wings desperately, flying in midair and trying to break free from the encirclement.
“Are you hurt?” Iana anxiously asked, holding Lilian tightly in her arms.
“N-no, I’m fine.” Lilian’s face flushed as the subtle fragrance from Iana enveloped her, stirring an inexplicable sense of familiarity.
Even from that brief sentence, Lilian felt a strange sense of recognition.
It was as if someone very familiar was by her side, but in her social circle, she had never known a familiar Demon Dragon.
Iana’s only thought now was to get Lilian to safety as quickly as possible, without any pretense.
The wolf pack on the ground chased after them as if they had locked onto the two of them.
“So annoying.” Iana scanned the dense wolves below and found nowhere to land.
Just as she was fretting, a raptor suddenly swooped down at her and struck with incredible speed.
Several of the hard scales on Iana’s body were knocked off.
“Damn it, even the air is unsafe now.” Without a moment to hesitate, Iana grasped Lilian tightly and quickly flew away.
Her agile form darted through the sky, skillfully dodging the raptors’ attacks ahead.
In Iana’s arms, Lilian felt dizzy, as if she had been transported back to the orphanage of her childhood.
She was saved just like this by that dragon woman who refused to reveal her name.
Before long, Iana shook off the pursuing beasts and placed Lilian in a relatively safe spot.
“You rest here for a while. I’ll be back soon.” Iana knew those black-clothed men were definitely plotting something sinister and couldn’t ignore it.
Just as Iana turned to leave, Lilian grabbed her hand tightly and asked, “Iana, is that you?”
