Scarlet Moon was an incredibly enthusiastic girl—so much so that even Luo Shuangyue found it a bit overwhelming.
In the end, it was Xia Mo who stepped up, shielding Luo Shuangyue from Scarlet Moon’s passionate onslaught.
After all, this kind of situation was best handled by an Official Magical Girl.
An Imposter Nightmare Magical Girl like Luo Shuangyue simply couldn’t adapt to such dynamics.
“Pathetic.” Luo Shuangxing glanced disdainfully at her elder sister, who was hiding behind Xia Mo.
“I’m just shy, okay? Got a problem with that?” Luo Shuangyue shot back, narrowing her eyes.
“Everyone has their specialty. I’m just not good at this kind of social stuff.”
“Why don’t you show me your battle power then? See if I don’t spin you around a hundred times with one hand.”
Fortunately, the exchange didn’t last long. Soon, Singularity found Scarlet Moon’s room card.
After getting the card, Scarlet Moon bid the group farewell and kicked off her little feet, soaring straight up.
“You guys should go to your rooms and tidy up first. Meet back here at thirteen o’clock; I’ll take you to the training area.” After Scarlet Moon left, the Soul Summoner Princess spoke to the three of them.
“Remember to adjust your watches. Time here on the Moon differs from the surface; we use the same time as the Magic Department Headquarters.”
“Got it!” Luo Shuangyue took out her phone from her personal space and set it according to the electronic clock at the front desk.
She adjusted the time about four hours ahead, and the time they had to organize their rooms was tight—just a little over an hour.
Realizing this, Luo Shuangyue quickly urged Xia Mo and Luo Shuangxing not to dawdle and to check out their rooms right away.
The three bid farewell to their two senior sisters, then leapt into the sky to find their rooms.
Singularity watched the juniors disappear from sight and sighed softly, “Young ones really are something.”
“Really? Even you feel the pressure now?” the Soul Summoner Princess teased.
“No pressure at all. If they become stronger than me, I’d be thrilled. Then I’d just sit here and do nothing while they handle everything.” Singularity rested her chin on her hand, sounding both disgruntled and wistful.
She had no desire to just be a mascot here; she wanted to fight and stretch her muscles.
“Then you’d better give up that thought. You’re stuck here not because you’re too strong,” the Soul Summoner Princess rolled her eyes without mercy.
Singularity was here because she couldn’t really contribute elsewhere, and her wild fighting style meant no one dared to let her unleash her full power.
According to the Magic Department’s estimates, if Singularity fully unleashed her strength, she could destroy the entire Mother Star outright.
Not just wipe out the surface, but blow it into fragments.
She was truly a star-shattering powerhouse.
“Tch, can’t you say something nice for once?” Singularity pouted. “But that Bud-level little one looks kinda familiar… kind of like that person.”
Almost every Full Bloom-Class Magical Girl who saw Luo Shuangxing immediately thought of that radiant, sun-like presence.
The reason was simple: only Full Bloom-Class Magical Girls understood what White Night meant, and only they had such a profound impression of her.
Just one glance at Luo Shuangxing was enough to see many traces of White Night.
“You feel that too? Isn’t she from your Magic Department? How come you never noticed before?” the Soul Summoner Princess was curious.
“Lily of the Valley isn’t from any other organization; your Magic Department should have comprehensive files on her, right? So why didn’t you notice that she looks so much like White Night?”
“You want to ask me that?” Singularity fell silent for three seconds. Indeed, this was a question she shouldn’t be asked.
She was basically a nobody in the Magic Department, existing only as the ultimate weapon and usually not involved in day-to-day matters.
Plus, with Singularity’s indifferent personality, expecting her to pay attention to a rookie who just became a Magical Girl a few months ago was impossible.
“But since you brought her here, does that mean…”
“What else? I’m helping you Magic Department raise a powerful girl, isn’t that good?”
“Ha, well then, I guess those people owe you thanks.”
“This place really is like a dorm.” Looking around at her room, Luo Shuangyue felt like she had returned to her student days.
Classic to the extreme—aside from the larger space and some unfamiliar furniture, it was almost exactly like a student dormitory.
“An induction cooker? Are we really going to cook for ourselves here?” Xia Mo looked at the oddly out-of-place appliances with some bewilderment.
The bathroom and toilet were one thing, but why even have cooking utensils?
There probably weren’t any ingredients here, right?
The room had two beds. Not very big, but definitely enough for a girl to rest well.
Now the problem appeared: three people, two beds—someone had to take the next room and share a room with a stranger Magical Girl.
“Let me take the next room!” Luo Shuangyue raised her hand, volunteering as the sacrifice.
By normal distribution, it did make sense for Luo Shuangyue to take the next room.
After all, Rosemary and Lily of the Valley were senior and junior sisters familiar with each other, both from the Magic Department, so living together was natural.
And Luo Shuangyue, being from Eternal Night and a villainous Magical Girl at odds with the others, taking the next room was reasonable.
But Xia Mo wasn’t very happy about just letting Luo Shuangyue go.
In many ways, Xia Mo was possessive and easily jealous. The thought of Luo Shuangyue sharing a room with another girl made her feel uncomfortable.
So Luo Shuangyue couldn’t be the one to move next door.
But since that was Xia Mo’s private feelings, she felt bad about leaving Luo Shuangxing alone next door.
She couldn’t make Luo Shuangxing suffer just because she wanted to be close to Luo Shuangyue.
So Luo Shuangxing couldn’t go either.
That left only one choice.
“No, I’ll take the next room.” Xia Mo declared.
“That’s not right,” Luo Shuangyue instinctively objected.
“It’s better if I go! I don’t get along with Lily of the Valley.”
Luo Shuangyue reminded Xia Mo that as Dark Moth, her relationship with Luo Shuangxing was pretty bad.
That wasn’t the kind of relationship where they could share a room peacefully.
“It’s fine. You two stay here; I’ll take the next room.” Xia Mo pressed Luo Shuangyue down onto the bed with a serious, no-negotiation look.
“Besides, I’m just taking the space. When it’s time to rest, I’ll decide where I sleep anyway.”
Xia Mo’s reasoning was simple.
Although she’d live next door, she could come and go as she pleased. At night, she could come back and squeeze in with Luo Shuangyue on the bed.
Though the beds were small, they were big enough for two girls to sleep close together.
Hey! Wasn’t that a perfect solution?
It solved her jealousy and gave her more chances to get close to Luo Shuangyue.
It was a double win!
“Uh…” Luo Shuangyue found this plan a bit strange but couldn’t quite put her finger on why.
Like, couldn’t Xia Mo just live next door and not come over every day? Was it really necessary to keep showing up?
But Xia Mo had already made up her mind, picked up the room card for the next room, and left without giving Luo Shuangyue a chance to argue.
“Um…” Luo Shuangyue looked at her sister with a slightly embarrassed expression.
Both of them knew each other’s true identities, yet they had to pretend they didn’t—it was so awkward!
Compared to Luo Shuangyue’s embarrassment, Luo Shuangxing didn’t overthink it.
To her, it was just sharing a dorm room with her sister disguised as Dark Moth. Nothing special.
Compared to being at home, she actually preferred it this way.
At least her sister no longer had to cling to that flawed male identity all the time and could just be a normal girl.
Thinking that, Luo Shuangxing was the first to undo her transformation and gave Luo Shuangyue a meaningful look.
“We’ve met before. No need to keep wearing masks here, right?”
That clearly meant more than just words. Luo Shuangyue felt her sister was telling her to stop pretending and show her true self.
That said, Luo Shuangyue was still a bit reluctant to fully reveal herself.
But first, she removed her hair clip.
As butterflies drifted away from her, Luo Shuangyue returned to her original form—
Of course, the form of Dark Moth, with her striking red contact lenses.
But unlike before, she didn’t apply the heavy makeup. So, compared to before, the only difference was her eye color.
At least the black dress was somewhat similar to the one Xia Mo had specially ordered for her last time, though it wasn’t the exact same one.
This made Luo Shuangxing give a somewhat exasperated look.
She realized her sister really didn’t want to keep up the act.
Look at her outfit—not exactly the same as when she sent her to school last time, but very similar.
“Dark Moth, you really look like my brother.” Luo Shuangxing crossed her arms, walked around Luo Shuangyue twice, and exclaimed.
“What nonsense are you talking about? I’m female, your brother is male. Are your eyes broken?”
Hearing this, Luo Shuangxing’s expression turned even stranger.
Her sister really said anything—she used to insist she was male, and now she was emphasizing being female with this new identity.
Her ability to lie without flinching shocked Luo Shuangxing.
“Maybe my brother is actually a girl. Honestly, I think she’s better off as a sister than a brother.” Luo Shuangxing’s gaze landed on Luo Shuangyue’s black-socked calves, and she chuckled mischievously.
“You really like black, don’t you?”
Luo Shuangyue’s face stiffened completely. Why was this topic coming up again? This outfit was prepared by Xia Mo, not her.
And the socks matched the dress—she couldn’t just not wear them, right?
“Let’s try to talk about work.” Luo Shuangyue put on a stern face, signaling she didn’t want to discuss life matters.
Keep in mind our identities: you’re Lily of the Valley from the Magic Department, and I’m Dark Moth from Eternal Night.
We’re bitter enemies with a complicated past. You should glare at me now—not act like a lovestruck fool asking if I prefer black or white.
“Sure, sure. Let’s talk about work.” Luo Shuangxing rolled her eyes and sat down across from Luo Shuangyue, propping her chin on her hands and blinking her eyes brightly.
Being looked at like that made Luo Shuangyue a bit uncomfortable.
Why did it feel like her sister was thinking about some scary things?
“Don’t look at me like that,” she said stiffly.
But Luo Shuangxing seemed not to hear a word, staring without moving.
After several minutes, Luo Shuangxing finally seemed to snap out of it and whispered, “Actually, you’re pretty good-looking.”
“After staring at me so long, that’s all you can say? I know what I look like; do I need you to tell me? And why would you compliment your enemy like that?”
“Don’t be like that; I’m trying to ease things between us!” Luo Shuangxing protested.
She was making the first move to mend relations with Dark Moth, which wasn’t wrong. It made her look like a reasonable kid.
“We’re going to be comrades soon, roommates under the same roof. It’s not good to keep things so tense, right?” She swung her legs and smiled brightly.
At first, Luo Shuangxing really disliked Dark Moth, but after various events—especially after discovering Dark Moth was actually her sister—she no longer felt so antagonistic.
Their relationship had shifted toward normalcy from that point on, but Luo Shuangyue stubbornly refused to accept it, clinging to their old enmity.
Now Luo Shuangxing wanted to change that mindset.
She aimed to bring their relationship closer, so that when their identities were unified later, it would feel natural.
No dramatic reversals or emotional clashes—just a gradual and smooth acceptance.
That was what Luo Shuangxing pursued.
“…Whatever.” Luo Shuangyue was silent for a moment before answering softly.
Refusing was impossible; all she could do was accept her sister’s olive branch.
If she dared reject it, her true identity would be exposed disastrously later.
She had no doubt how much her sister wanted to avoid that.
