Steam rose in thick clouds from the wooden barrel.
The Little Black Dragon, transformed from Qin Qingyue, clung tightly with her two front claws to the rim, stretching out her delicate dragon head, her sharp and bright eyes fixed unblinkingly on the contents inside.
Within the barrel lay the precious Essence painstakingly refined by Jiang Huai, combining the Hehuan Sect’s cultivation method with Qin Qingyue’s fragrant tongue.
The rare White Spirit Liquid shimmered with a strange, gentle glow, as if imbued with the primordial Aura of the Dao, captivating her gaze and making her mouth water.
“Go call White Dew over; I think there are still some steps left,” the Little Black Dragon ordered seriously without turning her head.
Jiang Huai, slumped on the soft couch, lifted his head slightly, gazing at the dragon who seemed eager to dive into the barrel. Weakly, he asked, “What about you?”
“I’m here guarding this precious essence for you!” she declared with righteous seriousness.
“Guarding?” Jiang Huai struggled to sit up, his footsteps unsteady as he walked over.
“Are you guarding it so no one else can steal it, or guarding it for your own convenience to steal?”
The Little Black Dragon suddenly lifted her head, droplets of water sparkling on her dragon whiskers. She widened her eyes, trying to look insulted and indignant.
“You don’t trust me!”
“Exactly.”
Without hesitation, Jiang Huai scooped her into his arms and carried her out.
“See? I’m not going to steal it.”
A moment later, Jiang Huai returned carrying Tang Zhaoxue, whose eyes were tightly shut, senses lost, and life hanging by a thread. White Dew silently followed at his side.
The cool and elegant White Dew approached the barrel, glanced inside once, then gently bit her lower lip, a faint blush coloring her ears.
Although this was to save someone, the scene was too…
She took a deep breath but still slowly extended her hand, as white and pure as jade, dipping it into the thick, slippery spiritual liquid.
Under Jiang Huai’s complex gaze, her hand lightly stirred the liquid. When she lifted it, thin strands clung to her fingertips, releasing a rich aroma.
A flush visibly spread across the girl’s face.
“Undress her.” White Dew did not look at Jiang Huai, speaking concisely.
Jiang Huai complied, loosening Tang Zhaoxue’s clothing.
Startled by the movement, Tang Zhaoxue weakly gasped and murmured, “What’s wrong? Are you going to heal me?”
“Yes,” Jiang Huai answered softly.
“Why can’t I hear my own voice?” She paused, confused, tilting her head.
“I can’t hear it either, right?”
“If I can only live like this from now on, please kill me,” she said quietly.
She couldn’t accept living her whole life like this.
Jiang Huai fell silent, scooping her up horizontally and walking to White Dew.
White Dew dipped her fingertips in the spiritual liquid and began drawing ancient talismans on the girl’s skin.
Her slender fingers traced over Tang Zhaoxue’s body, marking talismans at one vital spot after another, releasing a strange scent.
“What are you drawing on me?” Tang Zhaoxue trembled slightly, unable to help but ask.
When the spiritual liquid on White Dew’s fingertips ran dry, she dipped them back into the barrel to collect more.
This repeated until talismans covered Tang Zhaoxue’s entire body.
“Put her in to soak.” White Dew frowned, carefully wiping her sticky fingers.
It was her first time encountering a man’s essence—used for drawing talismans, no less.
She sighed silently.
She glanced at the pale-faced Jiang Huai beside her and thought, at least it’s a once-in-ten-thousand-years Yin Yang Body, pure and precious—not a total loss.
If this fell into the hands of some minor sect, it would be plundered without hesitation.
Jiang Huai stepped forward, placing Tang Zhaoxue into the barrel, immersing her entire delicate body as if in a warm spring.
“It’s so comfortable, I feel so comfortable.” She couldn’t help but sigh, sensing endless vitality surging through her limbs, even her heavy internal injuries seeming to ease.
Qin Qingyue leaned over, skillfully adding several crushed Immortal Materials into the barrel, as if brewing a nourishing tonic.
“Next time, I want to bathe in this too,” she said while adding the materials, glancing at Jiang Huai.
Jiang Huai kept his eyes fixed on his nose, silently inwardly focused.
His steps were unsteady, his eye sockets sunken—proof of the immense exhaustion he’d suffered.
The spiritual liquid in the barrel rippled gently, tiny waves spreading.
Tang Zhaoxue’s once pale, paper-white skin gradually took on a faint pink flush, like a peach blossom just beginning to bloom, soaked with the vitality of the spiritual liquid.
She hummed softly, her long eyelashes fluttering slightly, as if struggling to open her eyes.
The warm, viscous liquid enveloped her like a lover’s caress, penetrating every inch of skin.
It carried Jiang Huai’s scent.
She felt a warm current rise from her lower abdomen, spreading through her entire body, bringing a tingling, thrilling sensation.
Her originally withered meridians seemed nourished by spring rain, greedily absorbing the spiritual liquid’s abundant energy.
“Mm…” she involuntarily moaned, her body twisting slightly.
Jiang Huai stood by the barrel, watching Tang Zhaoxue’s pale lips slowly regain color, like a rose kissed by dew, parting slightly to exhale warm breath.
A few drops of spiritual liquid slipped down her neck, passed over the delicate collarbones, and vanished into the faintly revealed cleft.
“I feel… much better.” Tang Zhaoxue murmured to herself.
Her eyelashes trembled more intensely; her five senses seemed to be returning.
She first caught a strange scent, mixed with Jiang Huai’s and the spiritual liquid’s fragrance, along with a faint, almost imperceptible sweetness.
Then, her tongue tasted a slight saltiness, as if a splash of the liquid had reached her lips.
“Jiang Huai?” she tried to speak. Though weak, her voice was no longer dead silent.
She heard her own voice—and the gentle ripple of water.
Suddenly, a strong hand grasped her wrist.
The touch was warm and real, making her shudder all over.
Her senses returned like a tide, every inch of skin becoming extremely sensitive.
She could feel every drop of spiritual liquid flowing over her body, even distinguishing which strands slid across the peaks standing tall on her…
She abruptly opened her eyes.
Her blurry vision gradually cleared, first revealing Jiang Huai’s exhausted face close by.
His sunken eyes were weary but burning with intense focus as he looked at her.
Their gazes met, breaths audible.
Tang Zhaoxue instinctively looked down, seeing her naked body immersed in the milky white spiritual liquid, faintly visible beneath the surface.
What was this?
“Am I… healed?” Jiang Huai looked to White Dew.
White Dew slowly spoke: “It’s not that easy, but you’ve definitely been pulled back from the Gate of Ghosts.”
“You’ll need further treatment, but at least your senses have returned.”
The Yin Yang Body was truly miraculous. Were it not for Jiang Huai, even exhausting all the Immortal Materials of the Five Provinces would not have restored Tang Zhaoxue to her former state.
Jiang Huai would have to return with her to the Northern Plains Dragon Clan!
“I’m so hot…” Tang Zhaoxue suddenly said, her voice soft and weak.
“It feels like there’s a fire burning inside my body.”
Qin Qingyue tilted her head, blinking her dragon eyes.
“Yin and Yang balanced, vitality renewed. This reaction is normal, completely normal.”
Tang Zhaoxue looked up at Qin Qingyue and softly asked, “Are you… Jiang Huai’s wife during his Great Ascension stage?”
Qin Qingyue raised an eyebrow, straightened her chest slightly, flicked her dragon tail at Jiang Huai’s rear, and proudly declared, “What wife? I’m the Master Mother!”
“I am his Master Mother during his Great Ascension stage!”
Tang Zhaoxue fell silent, her expression complex as she glanced at her, unsure what to say.
“Oh, welcome to this world.”
“Welcome…”
With that, she slowly sank down, half her face submerged in the milky spiritual liquid.
Only a pair of misty, beautiful eyes remained above the surface, staring blankly ahead.
