Sophia quickly closed the window, then turned to Enya and said,
“When we came in earlier, we noticed someone was following us, so let’s wait until nightfall before investigating. It’s easier to move around after dark anyway.”
Enya nodded in agreement.
Sophia walked over to the bed, then glanced at the other two in the room.
Nina squinted and looked over at Enya.
“Hey, stinky mother dragon, why don’t you go next door?”
Enya gave her a sidelong glance and then headed for the door.
Nina kindly accompanied her to the entrance. Just as the little elf was happily about to close the door,
Sophia suddenly spoke up.
“Nina, you’re going out too. I’m staying in this room alone.”
“Ah?”
“Out.”
“But I have to protect Sister Sophia! How can I leave her side? Besides, I’m definitely not living with the stinky mother dragon!”
Nina was clearly displeased with Sophia’s arrangement.
However, Sophia was very firm this time. She stared at her without wavering, and Nina simply couldn’t match Sophia’s patience.
“Ugh, fine…”
The little elf slumped and went out, reluctantly glancing back at the room.
Seeing Sophia still glaring at her, Nina closed the door with a pout.
The moment the door shut, her expression changed, and she hurried to Enya’s side, rushing into the other room and plopping down on the bed without any courtesy.
Though the bed wasn’t as comfortable as the one at home, it was still a bed after all.
Nina didn’t forget to shoot Enya a look as she came in—a clear message that she had claimed this spot and no one was allowed to come near it.
Enya crossed her legs atop a chair, her tail swaying leisurely. Waiting until night seemed a bit dull.
So, Enya took the initiative to talk to the little golden elf rolling on the bed, and Nina was as sharp-tongued as ever.
“Heh heh, stinky mother dragon, stinky mother dragon, stinky mother dragon!”
“Childish.”
Enya’s response made Nina’s hair stand on end. At home, no one would ever call her childish!
“Stinky mother dragon, what did you say?”
The elf girl jumped up from the bed and marched over to Enya, her face almost pressed against Enya’s armored mask.
“I said Nina’s cute.”
“And a little undisciplined.”
“Hmph!”
Nina really liked to “hmph.”
The elf girl puckered her lips and gave a look that said, “I’ll let you off this time,” then said,
“Anyway, Nina’s smarter than the stinky mother dragon.”
“Yeah, yeah.”
Enya reached out to pat Nina’s head, but the little one dodged, immediately showing full hostility.
“Don’t touch my head, stinky mother dragon!”
“Oh, oh.”
Enya withdrew her hand.
Nina took a small step back, her beautiful bright blue eyes appraising Enya, who was perched on the chair, leaning on the backrest.
Her nose twitched slightly, and in her heart she thought: although the stinky mother dragon smells nice, she’s still the stinky mother dragon.
She just said that because she wanted to show how much she disliked her, so she definitely wasn’t going to change it back.
The little one pouted and “hmph”ed again.
Beneath Enya’s armored mask, her dragon eyes narrowed slightly, and a faint smile appeared at the corner of her mouth. She whispered to Nina,
“Nina, since you like to ‘hmph’ so much, could it be that you’re a little piggy? How about I call you ‘Fragrant Little Pig,’ and we call each other that?”
“You, you dare!”
Nina jumped, glaring at Enya with her big, sparkling eyes.
But was Enya someone who was afraid?
She was super rebellious!
Since Nina didn’t like it, Enya was definitely going to call her that.
“Don’t be silly. How could I ever call Nina ‘Fragrant Little Pig’? Right, Fragrant Little Pig?”
“Ah!”
Nina instantly blushed. Her hands shot out to grab Enya’s helmet, but Enya caught her slender, soft arms.
Enya pushed Nina away, smiling as she said,
“Alright, Fragrant Little Pig, stop messing around.”
“Stinky mother dragon, how dare you!”
Nina gritted her teeth and glared fiercely at Enya.
Although she was an aggressive elf girl, she grew up in a refined environment, so the worst insults were “stinky” and “ugly,” while threats were always “how dare you.”
Enya thought it might be fun to show the little one how to insult someone properly, but after considering it, she decided against corrupting such a pure girl.
After Nina calmed down, she called out to Enya,
“Hey, stinky mother dragon.”
“Yeah, I’m listening, Fragrant Little Pig.”
“Shh…”
“What’s wrong?”
“Why do you always wear that helmet? Are you really that ugly?”
Nina gathered magic in her eyes, trying to see through Enya’s faceplate to find out what kind of face she had underneath.
But how was that possible?
On the armor was Enya’s magic barrier. Once a top-tier powerhouse, even after losing some strength, her abilities remained intact.
Now, the only difference from her peak was endurance!
No matter how hard Nina tried, she couldn’t penetrate the faceplate’s protection.
Frustrated, she reluctantly withdrew her magic and stared at Enya unhappily.
Enya chuckled softly and said,
“I already told you, I don’t look good. I’m afraid I’d scare you, Fragrant Little Pig.”
“Nina wouldn’t be scared.”
Nina put her hands on her hips, looking unimpressed.
There was no way any creature could look scary enough to frighten an elf, especially one as brave as Nina!
The elf girl lowered her head and rummaged through her robes, soon pulling out some gold coins.
After counting, she held them out to Enya.
“Hey, stinky mother dragon, Nina’s giving you… ten gold coins!”
Enya looked curiously at the coins, then back at Nina.
“What’s this for?”
“Ten gold coins. You take off your helmet.”
After saying this, Nina twisted her mouth.
She had a lot of money. Along the way, Sophia and her expenses were covered by her family elders, so she saved the rest since she didn’t have much use for it at home.
Nina was quite wealthy!
Enya took the money but made no move to remove her helmet.
Nina immediately shouted,
“Stinky mother dragon, you took Nina’s money. Hurry up and take off your helmet!”
“I’ll take it off when this is all over.”
“Really?”
“Really. Only for Fragrant Little Pig.”
“In that case, if I give you more money… can I ride on your back when you fly in the sky?”
Nina’s eyes sparkled. She once dreamed of becoming a Dragon Knight, but those flying draconic beasts were impossible to tame.
Still, riding a Dragon Tribe woman was not a bad deal.
Thinking like this, Nina even had plans to buy Enya home.
Enya rolled her eyes at the little one and said,
“No.”
“Tsk…”
Nina sulkily turned her head away, then looked back and pointed at Enya.
“Mother Dragon, you promised to show Nina!”
“Mm hm.”
Enya smiled. It would be a long wait until dark, and she couldn’t just play with Nina the entire time. So, she took out that mirror.
Last time, she and Princess Vivienne had spent an entire day writing messages by hand.
Enya thought that next time they entered the Meeting of the Order, Antiros could set up a voice call, which would save the trouble of writing.
Eventually, they might even talk face-to-face in the virtual space…
She found Princess Vivienne’s contact and sent a handwritten message.
