What is wind?
It is not just a flow of air, but a kind of life force that brings the feeling of spring to the flowers in the garden.
“Stop,” Xu Chuyao’s body tensed, “Don’t blow so hard.”
The cool breeze would be fine, but the key is… those spots can’t handle the wind!
“That’s right! You have to blow like this!” Shen Ning excitedly encouraged, “You have to use your power properly!”
If you reach Third Rank but still just flail around with your hands and brute force like before, then what’s the point of being Third Rank?
“You’ve made progress, Chu,” Broken Shadow said with an unkind expression, “Wind can be channeled inside, designing wind tunnels in confined spaces to create outward-flowing currents…
Skill application at a master level—useful in any situation.”
Under its guidance, Shen Ning quickly found the key, mastering the first skill since reaching Third Rank that didn’t feel like a skill at all. As for the effect—
Absolutely amazing!
Xu Chuyao’s body suddenly stiffened, as if she was about to take off into the sky, only falling back onto the bed after a full minute.
“Looks like Yao Yao’s alive again,” Milky Ning Reflection said happily, “So good, so good.”
So vibrant, so full of life, and the energy was still flowing nonstop.
What a vigorous vitality.
“Chicken Wu, you’re cheating.”
Xu Chuyao buried her face in the pillow, whining.
“Cheating? No way, it’s just my own power,” Shen Ning said expressionlessly. “If you think it’s unfair, you can try it too.”
Well, I’d need the talent to use it first.
Mid Second Rank Yao Yao felt like she was outclassed by her girlfriend at early Third Rank.
“Waaaaaa!”
After being captured by the vortex several more times, Xu Chuyao really couldn’t take it anymore and truly realized her mistake.
“Sorry, I won’t do it again, wailing.”
In fact, over all these years, as a cautious and sustainable-growth-focused little villain, Xu Chuyao had always known her limits—not to push the female lead too far. To put it quantitatively, she usually only did mischief in the double to triple digits, occasionally tasting the four digits, but never more than one or two thousand.
This time though… she didn’t realize she’d push it all the way to ten thousand!
“You said that last time,” Shen Ning said casually. “And the time before that. But in reality, you just go even further next time.”
She was concentrating on controlling the vortex, following Broken Shadow’s instructions, linking her perception with the wind, much like a Second Tier Ultrasonic Pulse skill.
Where the wind touched was where the girl’s senses were, and through that tiny Swirl Wind, she could feel the temperature the water had just passed through—warm, almost hot enough to cloud the mind.
“The connection at the nerve perception level is like this, much more sensitive than skin’s temperature feeling,” Gravel Reflection said. “You can weaken it a bit if you want…”
“No need,” the girl whispered softly, “I like it this way.”
It was like feeling Yao Yao’s warmth all at once.
Xu Chuyao couldn’t hear her girlfriend mumbling beside her because she felt like she was about to fly away.
This, this is amazing, too amazing! Yao Yao can’t take it!
Waaaaaah ~!
Shen Ning left the bedside and rummaged through the cabinet, pulling out a bag of Butter Egg Rolls.
Time for a break, some food to recover spirit power.
After resting a bit, Xu Chuyao raised her little head, dazed, and saw her girlfriend’s actions.
“That’s Xiaolu’s snack.”
“Borrowing it for now, I’ll repay her two bags later.”
After eating the egg rolls, Shen Ning returned to the bedside, meeting Xu Chuyao’s pure and innocent gaze.
“Let’s continue.”
“Stop? Waaaaah!”
After a while, someone really came to look for them.
“Old Zhu? No, I mean, Teacher Yu, why are you here?” Mi Xiaolu greeted at the door.
“I have something to tell Xu Chuyao and Shen Ning. Sent messages but no reply, so I went to Shen Liu’s bedroom to check but didn’t see anyone, then came here to look,” Yu Jing said, glancing toward the door behind her. Behind that peaceful bedroom door, fierce undercurrents might be flowing.
“She’s in there…”
“Right.”
Mi Xiaolu didn’t wait for Yu Jing to finish before confirming.
If she heard that word from the homeroom teacher, Xiaolu’s worldview would be completely shattered.
Yu Jing was silent for a moment, perhaps thinking about things at Freiden Academy. After a brief thought, she asked Mi Xiaolu a question:
“Do you think they’ll be out before tomorrow morning?”
“That… is really hard to say.” Mi Xiaolu shrugged. “This is my first time getting kicked out.”
Let’s just say, even when Shen Ning was furious last time, Xiaolu was allowed to stay inside and eavesdrop.
Though she really didn’t want to listen.
Yu Jing remained silent, but this time she was calculating the timing.
“The latest is the afternoon flight the day after tomorrow; getting up in the morning the day after tomorrow is also okay. Of course, if they wake earlier, let them know and have them check their phones for messages.”
“No problem.” Mi Xiaolu nodded firmly.
The responsible homeroom teacher came to find her students and remind them not to miss their trip because of oversleeping—very much in line with her worldview.
After giving the necessary instructions, Yu Jing was about to leave, then suddenly remembered something:
“Oh, Mi Xiaolu, don’t you have no place to sleep?”
“Yes, yes, yes!”
Xu Chuyao dreamed that she arrived at a small tavern, where Shen Ning was the only person inside—the waitress, chef, and boss all rolled into one.
Yao Yao sat down on a chair, placed her beautiful legs on the table, and pouted:
“Waitress, give me a 100 Points cocktail!”
Half a minute later, Shen Ning approached with a mischievous smile:
“Sorry, miss, you ordered wrong. There are two zeros after the comma; this is a 10,000 Points cocktail. I’m serving it to you!”
“Waaah!”
In reality, Xu Chuyao cried out, struggling to open her hazy eyes, feeling as if her whole body was falling apart, and sorrow welled up again.
Good news—it was just a dream.
Bad news—the reality was the same, except Shen Ning didn’t smile.
Xu Chuyao quietly lowered her head and glanced sideways to see Shen Ning sitting beside her, looking at her, scaring her almost into another outburst.
“Stop, stop, stop! I was wrong! I won’t do it again!”
She knew many people liked to brag, but she never imagined someone could blow with a tornado.
“You better remember this,” Shen Ning said clearly, “Don’t ever do that again.”
When Yao Yao collapsed in her arms, coughing up blood, the girl’s heart nearly stopped. The body’s reaction was so intense, but later she realized it was an act. Once relaxed, the exhaustion was overwhelming—almost like dying.
“Okay, okay,” Xu Chuyao struggled to raise her small hand, “Never again.”
That was all the strength she had left; even raising her hand was a struggle.
But this time she really meant it—no more daring.
As a numbers player, Yao Yao promised to only cause mischief in the four digits range from now on.
Seeing her obediently admit defeat, Shen Ning calmed down a bit.
“Oh right, check your phone. There were missed calls and messages vibrating non-stop.”
Why only look at her girlfriend’s phone and not her own? Because Shen Ning knew her girlfriend was busy and didn’t want to miss anything important, while she herself probably had no urgent matters.
“Wait, let me rest a bit more first.”
Closing her eyes, Xu Chuyao lay still for a few minutes before scooting to the bedside and picking up the phone to check.
Missed calls: Homeroom Teacher x10, Principal Lü x5.
[Homeroom Teacher: Are you there? Reply if you see this!]
[Homeroom Teacher: Afternoon flight, hurry and get up.]
[Homeroom Teacher: Forget it, I’m coming straight to your bedroom. I’ll wrap you up in the quilt and take you to the airport. Sleep on the way.]
Wow, such a terrifying trip.
Xu Chuyao checked the time: 10:30 a.m. It sounded okay, but the trip back from Freiden Free City was two days ago.
Where did they go yesterday?
Xu Chuyao didn’t know. Maybe, just like an old song says, love comes as fast as a tornado.
But the more important question now was that Yao Yao reached out and felt—uh oh—her underwear was missing, and everywhere she touched was damp.
[Yao Yao doesn’t want to type: No, no, no, homeroom teacher, please don’t come yet, I’m already awake and will come find you soon!]
[Homeroom Teacher: I’m already downstairs at your dorm!]
[Homeroom Teacher: Bring Shen Ning with you!]
Phew, just a few minutes earlier and it would have been bad.
“Get up, Shen Ning, hurry up, the homeroom teacher is here looking for us,” Xu Chuyao pushed the hand her girlfriend had resting on her chest. “Look at you, all this delay is because of you…”
“Hmph?” Shen Ning furrowed her brows. “Blame who?”
“Let’s just say it’s my fault…”
Yeah, right. Yao Yao’s excuse.
Ten minutes later, the two girls, dressed and washed up, arrived downstairs and met homeroom teacher Yu Jing, finally learning what was going on.
Regarding the aftermath of the Freiden Free City incident, a hearing for the Locke Morgan Family would soon take place. As a decision-maker in the matter, Xu Chuyao was qualified to attend as an observer.
Shen Ning, as the person involved in the Research Institute project, would face some inquiries and have to provide evidence.
“Don’t worry, you’re also a victim. With the Research Institute’s video and that guy Fort as witnesses, you don’t have to worry about taking responsibility.”
Yu Jing comforted them, and before leaving, glanced at the two girls. They had clearly washed their faces and dressed, but there was still some faintly hidden blush on their brows.
“You two… still so young. It’s better to be a little more restrained usually.”
Going at it for two whole days straight—just saying it sounds scary.
Xu Chuyao wanted to agree but hadn’t opened her mouth yet when Shen Ning spoke first:
“I’m not usually like this. This time was special.”
Yu Jing looked at her, then at the big thunder girl beside her, recalling how the other had run out the day before yesterday evening with a mouthful of ketchup, and suddenly understood.
“That’s true.”
Xu Chuyao caught her gaze and blinked innocently.
“No, really, it’s my fault?”
“All right, all right. I’m just asking one question—are there snacks on the plane?”
