The restaurant was aglow with dazzling lights, luxurious and enchanting.
[“The game officially begins.”]
Su Fu swiftly glanced over the twelve people.
In seat number one sat the Saintess, her white evening dress was embroidered with golden threads, her blonde hair twisted into a chignon at the back of her head.
Her skin was fair, her bearing dignified and sacred.
In seat number two was the Saint, dressed in a black suit jacket, wearing a golden brooch, his short brown hair was neatly combed back, and he radiated a formidable aura that warned strangers to keep their distance.
The people in seats three, four, and five were obviously a team, frequently exchanging intense glances.
Su Fu observed the bearded man, the woman with a butterfly hair ornament, and the man wearing black gloves, and she mentally dubbed them ‘Blackbeard, Coloured Butterfly, Black Glove’ in turn.
In seats seven, eight, and nine sat her teammates: Houchu, Dai Li, and Jiang Nanchen.
The remaining seats—ten, eleven, and twelve—formed another team: a burly man with a buzz cut, a woman with a red ponytail, and a tall, thin man with glasses.
Everyone had finished reading their parchment slips, and now they lifted their heads, sizing each other up warily.
Su Fu noticed that number ten’s gaze paused briefly when passing over seat three.
She raised an eyebrow, ‘Did they run into an acquaintance?’
The next second, number ten spoke, “Never thought I’d see you here, Victor.”
Number ten jumped straight into confrontation.
“I didn’t expect it either, Ram.” Number three retorted with a sneer, “I still haven’t settled the score with you over what happened in the Fela Star System.”
Ten wasn’t about to back down: “That’s my line. If you hadn’t switched sides at the last minute, how could the mission have failed?”
Su Fu understood instantly—it was enemies meeting again.
‘Enemies, eh? Great! Let the fighting begin!’
Eleven interrupted their bickering, folding her arms and calmly sweeping her gaze over everyone: “Let’s not waste time. The quickest way to finish this game is already obvious.”
“How so?” someone asked.
Eleven smirked: “It’s simple. Just eliminate everyone but yourself. Think about it. If I’m the traitor, all I need is for the believers to be eliminated; if I’m a believer, then the traitor will be eliminated sooner or later in the process.”
“It’s the only one-hundred-percent effective strategy. Look at that painting on the wall, ‘The Last Supper’—isn’t it about Judas betraying Jesus? Rather than playing guessing games, why not just be decisive?”
Her words were cruel, but the logic was unassailable.
If everyone but oneself died, the game would naturally end.
No matter who the traitor was, the result would be the same.
Three, four, and five exchanged subtle glances, clearly deep in thought.
It was indeed a good method, but the premise was that a single person could defeat everyone else—which was impossible.
Su Fu was instantly impressed, ‘A real warrior!’
In this game, trying to take down the core Saint and Saintess of the central star system and Paradise Pantheon was even less likely than dreaming.
Whoever believes that is a fool…
She hadn’t finished the thought when everything changed suddenly.
Three, four, and five erupted into violence at once, starting a fight right there.
Five, who was closest to Su Fu, suddenly produced a light blade and slashed it at her!
Su Fu: “….”
‘Are you seriously looking to die?’
She reacted instantly, flipping her left hand and grabbing the heavy silver candlestick on the table, swinging it forward without hesitation.
“Bang!”
With a dull thud, five took the blow straight to the head, reeling back in a daze.
Before he could recover, a golden rod came smashing down toward him!
Five was stunned, ‘how could she react so fast?’
Meanwhile, chaos broke out in the hall.
Three and four lunged at the nearest Saint and Saintess, but before they could even get close, the Saintess simply lifted her hand and softly spoke two words: “Decree, begin. Return to your seats.”
In an instant, something radiated out from the Saintess at the center, and all the violent ones were instantly returned to their original seats, unable to move at all.
The three struggled unwillingly, but the command was irresistible, as if it were an iron law that could not be defied.
“Let us go!” someone shouted in frustration.
The Saintess glanced over the trio, her gentle voice sounding: “Sinners of disorder, atone.”
As soon as she spoke, the three—three, four, and five—were engulfed by invisible flames, shrieking in agony before being completely burned away and vanishing from their seats.
The restaurant fell silent.
Although everyone knew this was the Shen Yan Space and death here wasn’t real, no one wanted to experience this “death” firsthand.
Everyone sat obediently in their seats, barely daring to breathe.
Su Fu was stunned— ‘what a terrifying power. Words become law. To be able to control others’ actions directly, like puppets on a string.’
No wonder the Paradise Pantheon’s core geniuses were so renowned.
Rumor had it that the head Inquisitor of the Judgement Court had a similar power—were these two from the Judgement Court?
Everything returned to calm, and Shen Yan’s voice sounded again: [“There are currently nine left. Please complete the first vote within thirty minutes.”]
Su Fu listened to the prompt with mixed feelings.
After all that chaos, three enemies gone in a flash?
But the remaining Saint and Saintess would be the hardest to deal with.
The kind who could take on ten by themselves.
Just then, the one who’d instigated things earlier, eleven, spoke up unhurriedly: “Oh, right. Time to introduce myself. My ability is ‘Eye of the Eagle.’ In other words, I can see what’s written on everyone’s parchment.”
Everyone suddenly realized she’d acted on purpose.
Having seen that her nemesis wasn’t the traitor, and not wanting them to win with her, she had simply lured them to get eliminated.
Su Fu was impressed in her heart—smooth and decisive.
‘Thanks for the help!’
Eleven calmly sipped her wine, scanning the group with a half-smile: “So, who’s the traitor?”
She first looked at number one and number two, who were both calm and composed, steady as could be.
Then her gaze settled on Su Fu.
She stared at Su Fu for three seconds, but Su Fu only smiled faintly.
Eleven turned her gaze away and examined the rest.
After looking at everyone, she said loudly: “Shen Yan, I request to begin the first round of voting.”
Her gaze fixed on Su Fu: “I vote for—”
She pointed at seat nine, Jiang Nanchen: “Number nine. His parchment has two characters: Traitor.”
Eleven’s thinking was simple—number six, Su Fu, was just too formidable.
She’d seen with her own eyes how this woman sent number three flying with a single blow, and she was teammates with nine; it was better to be on guard.
When eleven finished, her teammates—ten and twelve—immediately followed her judgment without hesitation, voting for nine, Jiang Nanchen.
Dai Li hesitated and glanced at Su Fu.
Truthfully, at this point, teammates were almost irrelevant—after all, anyone could be the traitor.
But if eleven had already seen who the traitor was, why hadn’t Su Fu raised her hand?
Actually, Dai Li leaned toward believing ten.
Because if they voted wrong, the voter would be eliminated; eleven wouldn’t risk herself as a joke, right?
Jiang Nanchen seemed to take a moment to process, then said blankly: “Huh? I’m not the traitor. I’m a believer.”
Just then, Su Fu leaned back slowly in her chair.
The movement was slight, but it startled eleven into almost jumping up.
Eleven glared at Su Fu: “Some people just love to play innocent, those pretty boys are the worst.”
Jiang Nanchen: “……”
‘You bastard! Who are you calling a pretty boy?’
Su Fu smiled faintly, doing nothing—neither objecting nor agreeing.
What a joke—those two characters, “Traitor,” were an illusion she’d cast.
How could she not know Jiang Nanchen’s innocence?
Looks like three more are about to be eliminated.
Seeing Su Fu unmoved, eleven relaxed her guard a little but when she saw the others hadn’t raised their hands, her expression soured—they clearly didn’t believe her.
The next second, Shen Yan’s voice sounded: [“Countdown over. Voting concluded.”]
[“Result: Failure.”]
Eleven and her two teammates were dumbfounded.
“Impossible!” Eleven cried out, “I saw it with my own—”
Before she could finish, the three of them disappeared, leaving three empty chairs behind.
Jiang Nanchen scratched his head in confusion, ‘Why would someone volunteer for death?’
What a joke—how could he possibly be the traitor?
That woman’s Eye of the Eagle must be faulty.
[“Six remain.”]
[“Random event triggered: Holy Grail is poisoned.”]
Immediately, six jewel-studded chalices appeared at the center of the table.
Shen Yan explained: [“Only four are unpoisoned, and only the traitor can tell which ones are safe.”]
[“Please drink a glass of wine within five minutes. Failure to comply will result in elimination.”]
Su Fu considered—this was her turn.
Of course.
Otherwise, she’d only be waiting to be voted out; if they guessed wrong, a penalty was only fair.
She found it very reasonable!
The group took turns, in seat order, to select a cup from the center.
Each goblet was covered with a red lid, so the choice was blind.
Soon it was Su Fu’s turn.
Among the four remaining cups, two were safe and two were poisoned.
That meant the Saint and Saintess had already chosen the safe ones.
She felt a twinge of regret—too bad, she hadn’t managed to eliminate those two formidable foes.
Su Fu calmly selected a safe goblet and returned to her seat.
The others quickly finished their picks.
At that moment, the NPC at the head of the table finally spoke, carefully following the script: “I know one among you has betrayed me.”
This was what Jesus said to his twelve disciples at the Last Supper.
He raised his goblet and said softly: “May the Lord bless us.”
The NPC drank in one gulp, and the others exchanged uneasy looks but at this point, there was no choice—they all drained their glasses, nerves taut.
Su Fu had the leisure to savor the wine; it was slightly sweet, with a faint bitterness.
The rest finished their drinks, then set the empty cups back on the table.
Then, they waited for the outcome.
Fortunately, it didn’t take long for the poison to take effect.
Dai Li’s face suddenly turned pale, her lips parting as if to speak, but no sound emerged.
Almost at the same time, Jiang Nanchen’s face changed abruptly, clutching his throat.
The result was set.
The two of them vanished in quick succession.
[“Player 8 and 9 eliminated due to poisoned wine.”]
[“Four remain.”]
Su Fu thought: ‘final circle, huh.’
Now only the Saint, the Saintess, herself, and Houchu were left.
If before, confusion and misdirection could thin out the players, now, with so few left, things were much tougher.
At that moment, the Saint spoke.
He fixed his amber gaze on Su Fu, as if looking straight into her soul: “My ability is the ‘Eye of Truth.’ I see that you are the final traitor.”
Su Fu: “……”
‘Heavens! Another ‘Eye’? Hidden so deep, only revealed now!’
Su Fu paused for a beat, not rebutting immediately, but turning to the Saintess she asked, “Do you believe him?”
The Saintess smiled slightly.
The answer was obvious—if she didn’t believe the Saint, would she believe Su Fu?
“Ah,” Su Fu sighed, “I’m sorry, but it’s not me.”
She picked up her parchment and showed it to the others.
On it, two large characters were written: [Believer]
The Saint and Saintess both paused, eyes flashing with shock.
‘Wait, was that allowed?’
The Saint said incredulously, “You actually… just showed your parchment?”
Su Fu blinked: “Why not? The rules don’t prohibit it, do they? I thought you two liked playing this way.”
Saint & Saintess: “…….”
‘My God, is this even legal?’
As core cultivations of the Paradise Pantheon, they’d always been taught to follow the rules and laws, but now…
Who knew you could play like this?
Su Fu smiled faintly and looked at the Saint: “Eye of Truth?”
The Saint immediately turned to Houchu, complex emotions flashing in his eyes.
The Saintess was quick to act, coming over to Su Fu’s side and taking the parchment from her hand.
Apparently unconvinced, she checked it carefully.
After her inspection, she looked to the Saint and shook her head slowly: “No problem.”
When she went to take Houchu’s parchment, though, he stepped back, clearly unwilling.
The Saintess didn’t push.
After all, at this stage, the result was obvious and his evasiveness only confirmed the conclusion.
Who wouldn’t prove their innocence at this point?
The Saint realized it too: “So, the Eye of Truth might have been deceived by some ability?”
“In that case,” he said, “I vote: traitor is number seven.”
The Saintess followed, and Su Fu calmly raised her hand as well: “I vote seven.”
[“Number seven, Houchu, unanimous vote.”]
[“Countdown over. Voting concluded.”]
[“Result.”]
[“Failure.”]
The Saint and Saintess looked stunned; before they could react, they vanished from their seats.
