The moment he saw Song Hyunsoo’s face, he frowned.
“What took you so long to come out?”
“Uh, I was listening to music, so I didn’t notice.”
Even then, Song Hyunsoo stood frozen, eyes blinking as he gripped the door handle.
It felt like he’d been possessed by a ghost. No, even if a real ghost had appeared, he wouldn’t have been this startled. Why was Yoon Jooho here? How did he get here?
“Are you just going to keep standing there?”
Snow was beginning to pile on his head, so Hyunsoo stepped aside to clear the way.
As Jooho strode into the foyer, it felt like the whole house was suddenly full.
Had he really grown this tall? Not just tall—was he this big? Or was their house just small?
Instead of the scent of cologne, a sharp chill of winter air emanated from Jooho’s shoulder nearby.
“Why… are you here… Did something happen?”
Watching him take off his shoes and glance around the palm-sized kitchen, Hyunsoo’s worry grew first and foremost. Jooho dropping by unannounced could only mean something bad had happened.
Fixating on the chipped, short refrigerator here and there, Jooho answered vaguely,
“I’ve got something to give you.”
Now that he mentioned it, Jooho was holding shopping bags in both hands.
No, no way. There’s no way he came all the way here at this hour just to give something.
“Is that the room over there?”
“Yeah, well…”
Hyunsoo followed Jooho’s nod toward the open door, still bewildered.
Could he really be here to talk about canceling their contract? Saying he couldn’t work with a guy he liked, trying to soothe him with a gift or something?
Suspiciously watching Jooho’s back, Hyunsoo noticed the way his face was fixed on something in the center of the room.
“Looks like I interrupted your fun time.”
Following the direction of his gaze without thinking, Hyunsoo practically lunged toward the mattress.
“Ugh! Ah! Eek, gah!”
He wrapped the scattered masturbation tools carelessly in a towel.
He’d thought it was probably a wrong delivery service, not that he’d end up letting an uninvited guest inside the room.
“Honestly, that’s quite the sexy exclamation.”
Whether Jooho sighed behind him or not didn’t matter. Hyunsoo shoved the random tools into a box haphazardly.
“This was just… someone gave it to me, so I was curious and tried it once…”
“Who would just give you something like that? Jung Ho?”
“Why would Jung Ho be here?”
As Hyunsoo stuffed everything into the box with the towel, a familiar whirring sound buzzed from behind his shoulder.
“Vibrating and rotating too. Pretty hardcore, huh?”
Feeling a chill run down his neck from the ominous vibe, Hyunsoo slowly turned around.
Jooho was holding up a dildo at lip height, watching it with an inquisitive, serious gaze as it buzzed and spun.
“Ah, give it! Hand it over!”
Jumping up and lunging forward, Hyunsoo was pushed back by Jooho’s chest as he pulled the dildo far away.
“No matter how you look at it, that size isn’t something you just try out of curiosity.”
“I said it’s different!”
“Not for me, but you’re letting that guy shove it in?”
He was only freaking out because your thing is way bigger than mine. You’re always nagging about wanting to shove it in and how your waist itches.
“That guy doesn’t do this stuff. At least turn off the vibration, please!”
Vrrrrring.
The dildo, covered with a condom and slippery with gel, twisted and writhed in Jooho’s hand. Dodging Hyunsoo’s attacks left and right, Jooho narrowed his eyes.
His gaze briefly flicked to Hyunsoo’s lower body.
“So that was just inside you until now…”
“W-What are you looking at… you pervert, worst! Dildo weirdo!”
“I think it’s thicker and longer than mine. Is this your taste?”
“That’s seriously disgusting. Give it to me quickly!”
His ears reddening, Hyunsoo screamed, and only then did Jooho switch off the dildo. He peeled off the condom inside out, handed just the dildo to Hyunsoo, and after tying up the gel-covered condom, glanced around before tossing it in the trash under the desk.
“Is this dirtier? It’s sucking on your saliva too.”
“Ugh, mouth! Mouth, please!”
Throwing the dildo into the box and snapping the lid shut, Hyunsoo lunged forward and covered Jooho’s mouth.
As they got closer, Jooho lightly wrapped his arm around Hyunsoo’s waist.
Under lowered eyelids, their gazes met, as if stepping into a large shadow. Holding eyes, Jooho pulled Hyunsoo’s hand off his mouth by the wrist.
“Looks like I was the side dish.”
“What? What side dish?”
“The TV.”
Ha… damn it. Damn it, Song Hyunsoo.
Pushing Jooho’s chest away, Hyunsoo grabbed the remote and immediately turned the TV off. He wanted to run outside, leaving Jooho alone here.
Jooho, sitting on the floor with a smirk, rested an arm on the mattress behind him and tilted his head sideways to look up at Hyunsoo crookedly.
“You can keep going. I’ll pretend I’m not here.”
“Get real.”
As Hyunsoo tossed the box back where it belonged, messing with his hair that hadn’t been tidied, Jooho chuckled repeatedly, clearly amused. Judging by his good mood, it wasn’t like he came to cancel the contract. But whatever else, there was no way he’d forgive what happened earlier.
“Sit on the mattress. The floor’s cold since the heater’s off.”
With a gruff tone, Hyunsoo spoke, and Jooho smiled, obediently climbing onto the mattress and unzipping his padded jacket. Hanging it on a hanger, Hyunsoo muttered.
“What’s with the sudden visit? If you were coming, you could’ve at least called.”
“Then you would’ve missed a fun scene.”
Jooho sat awkwardly on the mattress Hyunsoo had been fiddling with moments ago. Leaning back, he placed his hands behind his hips and stretched his neck side to side.
“So why did you really come? Did something happen?”
“I told you, I came to give you this.”
Jooho nodded toward the shopping bags.
“I’m working part-time tomorrow anyway.”
Tilting his head slightly, Jooho looked up at Hyunsoo standing before him.
“Did I come for nothing? Should I go?”
“No, not that. It’s just weird you showed up without warning.”
“It’s a home visit from the agency’s actor.”
Without that excuse, what would he have said?
“Did you work out?”
Jooho’s hair wasn’t wet or anything, but he gave off a fresh vibe, like he’d showered not long ago.
“Yeah. Pilates.”
“If you’re hungry, I could fry some kimchi… or make some pot rice?”
“Next time. I’m not hungry.”
Sitting on the edge of the mattress with his legs stretched out and ankles crossed, Jooho stared blankly at the window opposite. He looked a little spaced out and his cheeks sucked in, like he was starving…
“Then want some coffee? I only have instant, though.”
“No thanks. You don’t have to treat me. Just sit and unpack those.”
Jooho nodded toward the shopping bags awkwardly placed in the middle of the room.
“Is all this for me?”
Rubbing his tired eyelids, Jooho nodded.
“Too much…”
Too much. He couldn’t accept something like this. Hyunsoo was about to refuse but glanced at Jooho’s expression. Maybe this was a peace offering because he felt bad about their fight before the business trip. If that was the case, he didn’t want to hurt him by reducing his feelings to money.
“I just killed time at the duty-free and bought them.”
He was used to such casual remarks now.
Reaching into the smallest shopping bag to pull out a box, Jooho stood up from the mattress.
“Mind if I use the bathroom?”
“Yeah, go ahead. But it’s tiny, so don’t be surprised.”
“What’s this?”
Just as Hyunsoo was about to open the box, he looked up at Jooho’s voice.
Jooho was staring down at a pair of bunny slippers.
Hyunsoo bit his lip and squeezed his eyes shut. Damn… he hadn’t even thought of that. This was why an unannounced visit from a boyfriend was the worst. So relatable.
“That’s because the floor’s cold, Chaeyoung said.”
“Chaeyoung? Another guy?”
“She’s a girl.”
Anyone could tell that was a girl’s name. What was he nitpicking?
“Girlfriend?”
Jooho squinted and interrogated.
“What the hell… nonsense? She’s a part-timer who works at the bar with me.”
“Hmm, so BBTan has lots of friends.”
“Of course you get close if you work together.”
“Really? I don’t know much about ‘getting close like that.’”
“Want to wear them? They’re warm.”
Jooho didn’t say yes or no but playfully swept Hyunsoo’s bangs over his forehead as he passed by.
“Don’t do that.”
Hyunsoo turned his head away in annoyance, but Jooho smiled knowingly, like an adult man.
“Dry your hair. You’ll catch a cold.”
His touch was no different than before the trip, before their fight in the car.
“I’m not a kid. I won’t catch a cold just because my hair’s not dry.”
After Jooho left the room, Hyunsoo muttered grumblingly but couldn’t help the twitch of a smile at the corner of his mouth.
Maybe a boyfriend who suddenly drops by isn’t so bad sometimes.
Though, he wasn’t really a boyfriend yet.
Feeling awkward about his own thoughts, he scratched his cheek with his index finger and opened the smallest box he was holding. Gloves. Dark navy lambskin gloves.
The second box held a scarf. So light and soft it looked like it was made from the feathers of an angel’s wings.
『“They said it’s the coldest snap in twenty years. What kind of fool goes out without gloves or a scarf?”』
The day the actors went out to eat together.
On the ride home with Manager Cha Kyumin driving, Jooho had worn a puzzled expression.
At the time, it was just a passing comment.
“Is this how you keep insisting it’s only physical with me?”
Wrapping the cozy scarf around his neck, Hyunsoo grinned.
“I’m not buying it, Monroe’s Dad.”
