Suddenly, a knock sounded at the door, followed by a somewhat familiar voice.
“Is anyone inside?”
Dong Yuner tucked away her private thoughts and walked to the door. Pulling it open, she saw a handsome young man dressed in white standing there.
“Bai Lingfeng?” Dong Yuner was slightly surprised, not quite understanding what the man before her wanted. “Do you need something?”
‘If I remember correctly, his relationship with the Miss isn’t exactly great. In the past, they could barely even be considered love rivals.’ As if he didn’t notice the strange look on Dong Yuner’s face, Bai Lingfeng gave a faint smile and said, “I have some business with Miss Huanhuan. Is she home?”
Dong Yuner’s brows furrowed slightly as she sensed something was wrong. She thought to herself, ‘Why is this guy Bai Lingfeng here again? He just came by once recently. Don’t tell me he’s taken an interest in the Miss? It’s highly likely.’
‘No, I can’t let him in. This guy’s strength is way off the charts. If he has bad intentions, the Miss and I combined wouldn’t be able to beat him. What if he wants to do something perverted and ties me up, shamelessly defiling the Miss while I can only watch in helpless rage? I wouldn’t be able to do a thing. Wildly speculating, Dong Yuner made up her mind.
She shook her head and said, “Master Bai, how unfortunate. I’m afraid you’ve come all this way for nothing. The Miss just went out and hasn’t returned yet. I have no idea when she’ll be back.”
Bai Lingfeng asked with some doubt, “Then do you know where she went? I’m just asking.”
A cold glint flashed in Dong Yuner’s eyes. ‘He definitely has bad intentions.’ She quickly replied, “I’m sorry, I wouldn’t know. After all, I’m just the Miss’s maid. How could I shamelessly pry into her private business?”
Bai Lingfeng rubbed his chin and nodded, thinking to himself, ‘I clearly saw Huanhuan walk inside earlier, and I haven’t seen her come out since. Sister Dong is most likely lying.’
‘Why would she lie? Could it be that Huanhuan is in danger? Is she worried about a sneak attack, which is why she said that? That would be logical.’
As soon as Bai Lingfeng excused himself and left, Dong Yuner finally breathed a sigh of relief, thinking the matter was settled. However, Bai Lingfeng circled around to the other side of the courtyard wall and thought, ‘No, I won’t be able to rest easy until I see for myself. I’ll head in and scout things out; it shouldn’t be too difficult.’
With that thought, he leaped into the air like a soaring wild goose, lightly stepping onto the corner of the wall to look down.
Seeing Dong Yuner enter her own room, he concealed his presence and landed smoothly without making a sound.
Bai Lingfeng did a quick calculation and guessed that Lin Huanhuan would be staying in the main suite. He walked to the front of the master bedroom and knocked gently. “Miss Huanhuan, are you inside?”
In reality, he had already sensed her presence and knew she was there. However, out of politeness, he still felt the need to knock and ask.
Lin Huanhuan, who was just about to start her cultivation, was startled by the terrifying voice.

Any normal person would be able to hear that she was trying to kick him out, but Bai Lingfeng was anything but normal. In his ears, Lin Huanhuan wasn’t kicking him out; she was inviting him to sit for a while.
Bai Lingfeng immediately nodded with a smile. “Since you’ve so graciously invited me, Huanhuan, then I’ll come in and sit for a bit.”
He walked right past Lin Huanhuan and straight into the bedroom. He calmly scanned the surroundings before taking a seat in a nearby chair, offering his critique.
“You’ve decorated this place quite well, Huanhuan. It must be very comfortable to live here. It suits you perfectly.”
Lin Huanhuan stared at him in disbelief, her eyes wide. She was stunned for several seconds.
‘Are you kidding me? How are this guy’s brains wired? Even intestines aren’t this crooked! Which ear did you use to hear an invitation instead of me showing you the door!’
‘You annoying jerk! Even if you have no social awareness, at least use some logic! This is my room, a girl’s private boudoir! Who invited anyone into their bedroom out of the blue!’
‘I swear your emotional intelligence is in the negatives. No wonder you get cucked. You’re completely bringing this on yourself. Damn it!’
Despite the raging fire in her heart, Lin Huanhuan remained composed on the surface. She kept a smile on her face as if nothing were wrong.
She walked over and sat in the chair next to Bai Lingfeng, finally replying with a smile, “It’s just average. Since it’s where I live, I naturally wanted it to be a bit more comfortable.”
“That’s true.” Bai Lingfeng nodded and asked with a smile, “The incense you use here is quite nice. Which kind is it? I’d like to get some for myself when I go back.”
While Lin Huanhuan was busy stabbing a mental voodoo doll of Bai Lingfeng, she forced a smile and said, “It’s quite common, just ordinary stuff. If you want some, I’ll have Yuner send some over to you in a bit.”

Lin Huanhuan nodded, spitting internally. ‘Truly shameless. He can’t even tell I’m just being polite. You can’t even call this being a “straight man” anymore, can you?’
After chatting for a few more minutes, Bai Lingfeng finally remembered the purpose of his trip and said hurriedly, “Huanhuan, are you free lately? If you are, would you like to go to the Monster Mountain Range with me to search for natural treasures? If the two of us go together, we’ll be much more efficient.”
“Searching for natural treasures?”
Hearing this, Lin Huanhuan felt a surge of joy. Thinking of her own situation and then of Bai Lingfeng’s current miserable state, she mocked him without thinking.
