Bai Ye was dead.
As a boy suffering from a terminal illness, his final moments were spent under a freezing bridge. The cold wind swept over his skeletal frame, but he no longer felt the pain.
As his consciousness blurred, he had a beautiful dream.
In the dream, there was no sickness or cold. He sat inside a warm, luxurious RV, looking out at the bright sunlight. Opposite him sat a beautiful young girl with black twin-tails, smiling sweetly at him.
“This is great… A home, a vehicle, and a beautiful girl…”
A satisfied smile curved the corners of Bai Ye’s mouth. Along with that smile, the boy’s heart stopped beating.
When he regained consciousness, Bai Ye felt weightless.
‘Am I… in heaven?’
She looked down and realized she was no longer that skeletal boy. Instead, she had become the beautiful girl with black twin-tails from her dream. She had pale skin, a petite frame, and wore a black Gothic-style dress.
However, it was all an illusion; she had no physical form. Before she could worry, a bone-chilling cold struck her. She looked up sharply, her pupils constricting.
Two massive, blood-red crescent moons hung in the sky. The red moonlight cast an ominous dark red glow over everything. This was a desolate Suburban Junkyard, filled with mountains of metallic scrap.
“Where is this?”
Bai Ye tried to stand up in a panic, but her vision suddenly shifted. Her field of view became incredibly bizarre, allowing her to see in all directions simultaneously. Then, she discovered with horror that her soul was floating above a rusty, battered Vintage 28-inch Bicycle.
The vehicle was in shambles. The chain was blackened, the frame was covered in rust, and the seat was severely worn, with the foam padding exposed.
Just then, a grating roar echoed from the distance. A monster with three heads and pus-covered skin was dragging its rotting body through the scrap piles, scavenging.
‘A Weirdness?’
Intense fear instantly overwhelmed Bai Ye. She instinctively tried to hide.
Whoosh!
Her soul was sucked into the bicycle.
‘I… I’ve possessed a bicycle?’
Hiding within the rusted steel tubes, Bai Ye trembled. After several bold attempts, she desperately confirmed a few things.
This world was filled with terrifying Weirdnesses, and there were two red moons in the sky.
Her range of movement was limited to 5 meters from the bicycle’s center; once she exceeded it, an invisible force snapped her back.
She couldn’t control the bicycle’s movement or even turn the pedals. It seemed she had actually become the bike…
Just as she was breaking down, a light blue screen suddenly popped up before her.
[RV Evolution System booting up…]
[Binding successful! Host: Bai Ye (RV Prototype)]
Bai Ye roared at the air, “What kind of damn RV is this? Are you blind? This is clearly a bicycle about to fall apart!”
The system responded without emotion.
[A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. A top-tier RV begins with a scrap bicycle.]
“I can’t even move right now. How am I supposed to evolve? Just wait for death?”
[Warning: The Host cannot move independently. A binding with an Exclusive Driver is required to activate the vehicle functions.]
“A driver? There isn’t even a living person in this hellhole. Where am I supposed to find a driver!”
Bai Ye despaired.
She endured three agonizing days in this eerie junkyard. Every night, unspeakable Weirdnesses would wander about.
There were spiders with human faces and blood corpses with only half a body that crawled incredibly fast. Bai Ye could only shrink back into the bicycle’s iron frame, praying they would mistake her for a pile of scrap metal.
It wasn’t until the middle of the night on the third day that the rapid clicking of high heels broke the dead silence.
Su Shuang’er felt like today was her end. She had intended to drive to a base to trade for supplies, but her car ran out of gas and stalled halfway. Worse, she was spotted by a Splitter.
Huff… huff…
Su Shuang’er panted heavily, her lungs aching. She was wearing a professional pencil skirt she hadn’t had time to change out of—clothing completely unsuitable for running for her life.
As she ran, her voluptuous curves trembled beneath the tight hem of her skirt. Her slender waist and full hips created a striking visual impact.
The roars behind her drew closer. Panicked, Su Shuang’er rushed into the junkyard. It was a dead end, filled with trash everywhere.
‘It’s over… I’m going to be caught.’
Su Shuang’er scanned her surroundings in despair. Suddenly, her gaze landed on a corner. Under the moonlight, an old bicycle stood there quietly. Though it looked rusty and old, as if it might fall apart at any moment, it was her only chance of survival.
Driven by survival instinct, Su Shuang’er gritted her teeth and rushed over on her exhausted legs. Because her skirt was too tight, her posture as she straddled the bike was a bit clumsy, and she sat heavily on the worn-out seat.
“Move! Please, move!”
Su Shuang’er pushed the pedals with all her might. It didn’t budge. The rusted chain seemed welded together. The Weirdness behind her had already broken through the fence, the stench of decay hitting her face.
‘Is it broken?’
Tears welled up in Su Shuang’er’s eyes. She desperately wanted to abandon the bike and keep running. Just as she was about to stand up, a soft, ethereal, and somewhat urgent voice rang out in her mind.
“Don’t go… If you want to ride me, you need my permission first.”
“Ah!”
Already startled, Su Shuang’er was terrified by this sudden voice. Her legs gave out, and she fell onto the dusty ground. She looked at the bicycle in horror.
Above the bike, the air distorted slightly, and a semi-transparent figure of a young girl slowly emerged. Black twin-tails drifted in the air, and she had a delicate face, though her large eyes were currently looking at her with anxiety.
“A… a ghost!”
Su Shuang’er trembled, scooting backward, her pencil skirt rubbing against the ground.
Bai Ye looked at the terrified woman in front of her, feeling helpless. This was the only driver she had found after waiting for three days! And she was a beauty! Bai Ye floated in the air, trying to look as harmless as possible. Her voice was extremely soft and gentle.
“Don’t be afraid. I’m not a monster or a Weirdness. I… I am this bicycle.”
Su Shuang’er’s eyes widened. Tears still clung to her eyelashes as she looked at the impossibly beautiful ghost girl. “You… you’re a bicycle?”
“Yes. I won’t hurt you.” Bai Ye pointed to the massive dark shadow approaching in the distance—the Splitter was closing in. “Look, that thing is about to catch up. You definitely can’t outrun it on foot, especially since you’re wearing high heels and a skirt… You’ll trip easily, be caught, and eaten.”
Bai Ye’s tone was sincere, with a hint of persuasion. “Just ride me. As long as I agree, I can take you away very fast. Really, I won’t hurt you.”
Su Shuang’er glanced at the hideous monster and then at the floating ghost girl. Although the girl was a spirit, her eyes were clear and her voice was soft and pleasant. She didn’t have the cold, malicious aura of a Weirdness. Rather than being torn apart by a monster, it was better to take a gamble!
“Okay… okay…”
Su Shuang’er stammered an answer. She forced her weak legs to stand and walked toward the bicycle again.
[Ding! Detected an intelligent lifeform that meets the requirements.]
[Bind Su Shuang’er as the RV Driver?]
The system’s prompt echoed in Bai Ye’s mind. She looked the woman over. Mature, voluptuous, and beautiful. She carried the pleasant scent of a mature woman.
‘She’s a woman, and a beautiful one at that. This is great.’ Bai Ye felt a sense of relief. ‘If some smelly man were to ride me, I’d rather just scrap myself here.’
“Bind!” Bai Ye whispered in her heart.
[Binding successful.]
Su Shuang’er straddled the bike again.
This time, the feeling was completely different. When Su Shuang’er sat heavily on the seat, Bai Ye, being the bicycle, felt a strange sensation.
The entire narrow seat was completely swallowed, and some even overflowed from the edges of the seat.
“Mnh…”
Bai Ye couldn’t help but let out a soft sound as the bike frame shuddered. The sensation of being completely enveloped felt surprisingly comfortable.
[Welcome to the RV Evolution System. Welcome, Driver Su Shuang’er.]
The system’s words echoed in Su Shuang’er’s mind. She was stunned. She then discovered that the pedals, which had been rusted shut, now felt incredibly light!
Roar!
The Splitter had spotted Su Shuang’er and was charging!
“Pedal! Fast!” Bai Ye shouted.
Su Shuang’er no longer hesitated and pushed down on the pedals with all her might.
Whoosh!
Although the bike looked ragged and made a squeaking noise as it moved, its speed was much faster than she had imagined! The bicycle tires rolled over the ruins, carrying the voluptuous woman. Under the red moon, they turned into a blur and sped out of the junkyard.
Half an hour later.
Having escaped the chase, the person and the bike arrived at a relatively safe abandoned shack.
Su Shuang’er stepped off the bike, drenched in sweat and her legs still shaking.
Meanwhile, Bai Ye, who had turned into the bicycle, was silently reminiscing about the sensation of the seat during that bumpy ride.
‘It seems… being a bicycle isn’t as bad as I thought?’
