Seeing Sophia change her tone, Selitia rose from the bed, walked to the bathroom door, curled her index finger, and politely knocked.
“Is there something you need, Your Highness?”
Her voice was clear and ethereal, like a pristine stream flowing from a distant snowy mountain.
Yet that serene beauty did nothing to calm Sophia down.
The fire in her chest only blazed hotter.
Just you wait—once I get dressed and come out of here, you’re dead!
Sophia seethed silently.
“Do you see the blue bundle on the table? Bring it to me!”
Selitia turned her head and did, indeed, see the cloth bundle Sophia was referring to.
It was half-open, filled with clothes—clearly what Sophia had been rummaging through before she fled into the bathroom.
Selitia remained where she stood.
“Your Highness, aren’t you forgetting something?”
“Forget what?”
Sophia froze, then suddenly realized.
She was so furious her vision went black, her chest heaving violently as she took several deep breaths just to keep herself from losing it.
“Please, bring it to me. Thank you!”
Sophia was so angry she barely knew what she was saying—she’d even tacked on a “thank you.”
If affection points were a thing, hers for Selitia had probably dropped to -100 by now.
But Selitia didn’t care.
She used to be obsessed with what others thought, always walking on eggshells.
And those smiles she’d earned by sacrificing and humiliating herself—who knew how many of them hid knives?
Once people couldn’t get what they wanted, they were the first to turn on you.
Besides, from the moment she recognized Sophia, Selitia knew—getting along with her roommate wasn’t going to happen.
All she wanted was to live this second life quietly, low-profile, and free…
Why was that so hard?
Selitia sighed softly, then calmly walked over to the table, picked up the bundle Sophia had indicated, and returned to the bathroom door.
She knocked again, gently.
“I’ve brought it. Please open the door, Your Highness.”
The wooden door cracked open just slightly, and a pale hand shot out, grabbing wildly at the air.
…It actually looked kind of cute.
The corner of Selitia’s lips curved slightly, barely perceptibly.
Sophia didn’t dare open the door too wide, afraid Selitia would see her, and had no idea where exactly the bundle was.
She grabbed twice and came up empty, thinking Selitia was messing with her—on the verge of erupting again.
Then, something soft was suddenly pushed into Sophia’s palm, stopping the impending eruption in its tracks.
A bonelessly soft hand settled on the back of hers, gently pressing her fingers down.
“Got it? The bathroom’s really slippery. Be careful not to drop it.”
That hand was cold—several degrees lower than the steamy air in the room.
Its fingertips were slightly rough, brushing faintly against her skin.
As if jolted by the chill, Sophia’s body gave a slight shudder.
Her cheeks flushed red in embarrassment as she gripped the bundle tightly.
“Mind your own damn business—!!”
Pulling the bundle of clothes through the door crack, Sophia slammed the bathroom door shut again.
Don’t think that showing a hint of kindness at the end means she’ll be forgiven—!
I’m so mad, I’m so mad, I’m so mad!
This was absolutely one of the greatest humiliations of Sophia’s life—something she’d remember forever!
She threw her clothes on in record time and stormed out of the bathroom, radiating fury.
The bathroom door banged loudly against the wall behind it with a resounding crash.
Selitia, who had been bent over tidying up, turned her head at the noise.
“Your Highness, please keep it down. Even if I don’t mind, the neighbors upstairs or next door might.”
After staying bent for a while, she stood up abruptly.
The sudden movement made her vision swim, and she instinctively rubbed her forehead.
“It’s you?!”
Sophia exclaimed in surprise.
She had been too panicked earlier to get a good look before fleeing into the bathroom, but now she finally had time to examine this unexpected roommate properly.
The girl before her had a slender, delicate build—too thin, really, like she could be snapped in half by the wind.
Just from her frail appearance, Sophia found it hard to believe this was the same person who had pissed her off so badly.
But when she got a good look at those misty violet-gray eyes, Sophia no longer found it strange.
She remembered those eyes clearly.
Wasn’t this the same girl from a few mornings ago—whom she had tried to help out of kindness, only to be completely misunderstood?
Selitia Herbert!!
Sophia had even gone out of her way afterward to ask around about her.
But because Selitia kept to herself, few knew much about her.
Those who did said she had poor health, a gentle temperament, and barely left an impression.
Sophia had been skeptical.
After all, she’d seen it with her own eyes—Selitia might have looked weak, but her personality had a hidden sting that ruined Sophia’s entire day.
Now that she saw her again… Gentle and delicate? All an act!
New grudges and old ones welled up all at once.
Sophia strode over to Selitia, raised her chin, and glared at her furiously.
They were about the same height, but with her full royal presence unleashed, Sophia carried the pressure of a true princess.
Ordinary people would’ve been intimidated.
But Selitia was no ordinary person.
She merely glanced at Sophia and spoke calmly:
“Your Highness, it’s getting late, and the dorm is a mess. You should probably start tidying up.
“If you need help… just say the word. As your roommate, I can assist.”
The state of the room honestly bothered Selitia.
But since everything belonged to Sophia, Selitia didn’t feel right touching any of it without permission.
Even if it took up shared space… until Sophia cleaned it up, Selitia could only put up with it.
But Sophia completely misunderstood her.
Say the word?
Was she implying Sophia had to beg her for help?
The sting of earlier humiliation flashed through her mind, and the fire in Sophia’s chest exploded:
“I never agreed to share my dorm with anyone! This is my room—get the hell out!!”
Noble dignity completely forgotten, Sophia grabbed Selitia by the collar and started dragging her toward the door.
“Your Highness—”
This body was genuinely frail. No matter how many techniques she knew, Selitia couldn’t use them now.
She tried to resist, to pry Sophia’s hand off, but even her arms were pinned—she couldn’t move at all.
Damn… this princess is strong as an ox. Even my stepmother, even Orall, can’t compare to her.
“GET OUT—!!”
Sophia yanked and dragged Selitia all the way to the door, threw it open, and shoved her out with force.
