Regardless of what Fang Rui was thinking at the moment, Lin Mo didn’t stop after kicking the zombie away.
With a quick dash, he appeared before the zombie again and brought his axe down hard with a vicious chop.
With a loud “Bang!”, nearly half of the zombie’s head was cleaved off.
The axe landed heavily on the ground, its entire blade now curled and clearly unusable.
Lin Mo stood up and stomped hard on the zombie’s head.
With a “Squelch!” like a bursting balloon, the zombie’s skull shattered into pieces, even cracking the ground slightly beneath it.
The sheer force of that single stomp was terrifyingly powerful.
“Hmph.”
Lin Mo snorted lightly, casually flicking the blood off his foot.
“Your breakthrough… is way too terrifying, isn’t it?”
Fang Rui struggled to his feet, forcing a bitter smile as he looked at Lin Mo.
“Heh…”
Lin Mo grinned at him and asked, “You alright?”
“Fine, nothing major.”
Fang Rui waved a hand, though his strained smile suggested his injuries weren’t light.
“Damn, it’s already this late…”
Fang Rui glanced at the sky outside the window-it was nearly noon.
“What’s wrong?” Lin Mo asked curiously.
“Something came up…”
Fang Rui muttered before grabbing a suitcase.
He hurried to the supermarket shelves, stuffing it full of food, then said urgently,
“I’ve got an emergency. Gotta go… See you around if fate allows.”
“Oh…”
Lin Mo stared blankly at his frantic demeanor.
What could be so urgent in the middle of an apocalypse?
Regardless, Fang Rui soon left, leaving only Lin Mo and Song Xue’er in the supermarket.
“Let’s eat something first,” Lin Mo said to Song Xue’er.
She nodded, though her mood seemed off-whether from the earlier scare or something else was unclear.
Ignoring the corpses and the stench of blood around them, the two casually grabbed some food and began eating.
Lin Mo wasn’t actually hungry-his recent level-up had left him fully replenished.
But not eating at all would seem too odd, so he ate symbolically.
As he ate, Lin Mo finally had time to check the information in his mind.
First, naturally, were his stats.
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Name: Lin Mo
Level: 4
EXP: 5/50
Class: None
Strength: 8
Agility: 8
Constitution: 8
Spirit: 8

All his attributes had doubled again!
This was precisely why Lin Mo had dispatched the zombie so effortlessly earlier.
The rate of his stat growth was downright terrifying…
If this kept up, wouldn’t his stats hit 16 at the next level-up? Then 32 after that?
Shaking his head, Lin Mo stopped himself.
Overthinking the future was pointless.
He continued browsing through the rest of his data.
“Hm?”
Just then, Lin Mo let out a soft sound of surprise.
There seemed to be movement on the ground nearby.
Upon closer inspection, it was a zombie with a deep gash on its head-likely one Lin Mo had failed to kill properly in his haste.
Lin Mo stepped forward and crushed the zombie’s skull flat under his foot. It stopped moving immediately.
At the same time, a message flashed through his mind once more:
“Congratulations on killing a level one Monster Zombie. Experience gained: 0 points.”
“Huh?”
Lin Mo was stunned. Zero experience? What was going on?
After pondering for a while, Lin Mo figured it was probably because his level was too high now.
Killing Zombies of such a low level no longer granted him any experience.
“This is a bit troublesome…”
Lin Mo glanced at his experience bar.
With only 45 points needed to level up, it would have been easy to achieve by killing level one Zombies.
But now that they gave no experience, things weren’t so simple.
Not only were higher-level Zombies harder to kill, but they were also not that easy to find in the first place…
Shaking his head, Lin Mo decided that with his current stats, as long as he didn’t foolishly charge into a horde of Zombies or encounter higher-level ones, he should be safe enough.
He then turned his attention back to the messages in his mind.
The next moment, his eyes widened in shock…
