Chapter 18: That’s a Different Price

“Is that okay?”

“I’ll pay even more if you want!”

“As long as I’m happy, money’s not a problem.”

MOKA looked at Su Li, her breathing growing more and more rapid.

Without realizing it, her hand landed on Su Li’s body, slowly starting to climb across her skin.

“One hundred thousand yuan.”

Su Li thought for a moment and fell silent, as if weighing her options.

After all, she was originally the male lead of a dating sim game, so she was quite familiar with this kind of thing.

Besides, she viewed this as just another job.

She clutched the bedsheet nearby, swallowed again, and didn’t dare meet Su Li’s eyes.

Her body was turning soft and hot, tingling all over.

Though MOKA still craved Su Li’s scent, she didn’t spare her a glance.

MOKA was completely immersed in her musical world, unable to pull herself out.

To hear the truth in the morning and die at night—she finally understood the saying.

With her pale fingers clutching the pen, she scribbled across the pages nonstop, terrified of missing any detail.

Page after page was filled completely by her own hand.

The dampness on her body had long since dried.

Clothes were scattered across the bed.

She poured her soul into writing on the paper, as if there was no one else left in the world but her.

No one knew how much time had passed, but the light shining through the curtains had dimmed.

Only the lamp inside the room now lit up the pages before her.

She leaned against the edge of the bed, letting the scattered sheets of paper slip from her hands onto the floor, and let out a long, contented sigh.

So good.

So unbelievably good.

She had never felt anything like this before!

It was a fierce, all-out battle that left her completely spent.

Every last drop of inspiration in her mind had been poured onto those pages—she couldn’t squeeze out even a shred more.

Just from what she had recorded this time, she could release three brand-new songs in completely different styles.

The room was silent, but her heart was filled with satisfaction.

She had wanted to share this euphoric feeling with someone, but when she looked around, the room was empty—Su Li was already gone.

The words caught in her throat and faded away.

The light in MOKA’s eyes slowly dimmed.

A wave of inexplicable loneliness washed over her.

She picked up her phone and saw that Su Li had left her a message at some point.

[Time’s up. I’ve got to go. Don’t forget to pay the rest.]

MOKA transferred the hundred thousand yuan to Su Li. For some reason, a deep sense of loss crept over her.

She realized she kind of hated how Su Li had just left without saying goodbye.

It left her with an uneasy feeling.

They might have tried to take credit, saying that without them, the song would never have come to be.
