At first, I hadn’t really wanted to go.
But seeing my viewers’ reactions, I changed my mind on the spot.
It actually sounded like it could be fun.
I was also a bit curious, what did my viewers look like in real life?
[+HurryAndLeave: ???]
[For real?]
[Oh!]
[That’s huge.]
[Pepe: So if you go, will you take pictures with people?]
[I doubt it, but he might sign stuff?]
[No way he’s doing a face reveal lol.]
“Oh, I’m planning to go without making it obvious. I have no intention of revealing my face.”
Besides, the event venue wasn’t small.
If I wore a mask and walked around, no one would recognize me.
I had never shown my face before, so it’s not like someone could just grab a random person and guess it was me.
[+HurryAndLeave: Lololol.]
[Why won’t you show your face!!!!]
[Because he’s ugly, obviously…]
[If he were ugly, he wouldn’t even go to an event like this.]
[Pepe: But you hate drawing male characters. Why are you even going?]
“Because I want to see you guys.”
It was the obvious reason.
I genuinely wanted to see my viewers in person.
If not, I wouldn’t have even considered going to the event.
[Chat explodes]
[+HurryAndLeave: That’s kinda touching.]
[Yeah… this is actually really sweet.]
[Yoddu, our legend.]
[Will your illustrations be marked separately at the event?]
[Pepe: Probably, right?]
“The illustrations I drew won’t have my name marked on them. It’s not a personal exhibition or anything. But if you’ve seen my art often, you should be able to recognize them.”
If this were my exhibition, that’d be a different story.
But since this was Heart Memorial’s official event, there was no way to make it obvious which pieces were mine.
[That’s true lol.]
[+HurryAndLeave: It’s not a fan meeting, so marking the artist’s name on every illustration would be weird lol.]
[I have zero idea which ones are yours, is this normal?]
[Think about those of us who don’t watch your art streams…]
[Pepe: If you don’t enjoy the art streams, then you’re not a true Yoddu fan.]
[Seriously==]
As I continued casually mentioning the Heart Memorial event,
I suddenly noticed.
[Viewers: 1,291]
The number had shot up.
Compared to before, my viewership had grown dramatically.
‘…At this point, I might as well do a variety game stream.’
I had always said that once my average viewership hit 1,000, I’d start playing variety games.
And this wasn’t just because of a bracket tournament drawing in random traffic.
This was pure, consistent viewership.
It was time.
“That aside, should we try a variety game today? We’ve got enough viewers now.”
[+HurryAndLeave: Hell yeah.]
[Let’s go!]
[Are we finally doing variety games?]
[Variety game time, let’s go!]
[Pepe: We need a vote!]
[What game are you playing?]
[This is gonna be fun lol.]
The chat was hyped.
Made sense.
I had been saying for a while that I’d start variety gaming once I reached a certain number of viewers.
I wasn’t sure if they’d actually like it, but it was worth trying.
“Alright, I’ll set up a poll with some solid choices.”
It was better to pick popular games.
If I went with something too niche, people might not enjoy watching.
With that in mind, I started selecting games.
“First, I’ll add this one.”
I added a medieval-themed game to the list.
[+HurryAndLeave: Oh, this one’s great.]
[This game is so fun lol.]
[Kingdom Come is amazing.]
[Are you picking the first one or the second?]
[Pepe: Most people play the second one. The first has kinda rough graphics.]
[Poll options:]
Medieval Game
With one entry added, I moved on.
“Next, this one seems like an obvious choice, right?”
Since I had included a medieval game, it only made sense to add a Western-themed one too.
It was already well-loved by gamers.
[+HurryAndLeave: Hell yeah.]
[A true classic.]
[Red Dead.]
[This one’s guaranteed fun.]
[But won’t it take forever to finish once you start?]
[Pepe: Yeah… do you even have time for this?]
Chat seemed worried about how long it would take.
So, I reassured them.
“I’ll be streaming almost nonstop until classes start, except when I’m working. So don’t worry about it.”
There were about two weeks left until the semester began.
I planned to stream as much as possible until then.
Might as well, while I still had the time.
Long streams would become way harder once school started.
With that thought, I added more options to the poll.
[Poll options:]
Medieval Game
Western Game
Sci-Fi Game
Farming Game
“This should be a solid list. Let’s start the poll.”
[Yeah]
[+HurryAndLeave: This looks like a solid lineup.]
[Let’s get that vote going!]
[Personally, I’m leaning toward the medieval game.]
[Kingdom Come wasn’t that fun though.]
[Yeah, it was decent, but not amazing.]
[Pepe: Just vote already lol.]
I set the voting time to just one minute.
The reason was simple.
I didn’t want trolls coming in and skewing the results with joke votes.
‘They could pick some weird game and then just dip.’
Just as I was thinking that.
Ding!
The voting ended.
“Alright, let’s reveal the results.”
[+HurryAndLeave: Why am I getting nervous lol.]
[Please be Red Dead, please be Red Dead, please be Red Dead…]
[What the hell is Red Dead lol.]
[Pepe: Let’s see those numbers.]
[Wonder how this turned out lol.]
[Whoever picked the sci-fi game, I’m hunting you down.]
[Gasp]
[Scary…]
I pulled up the final poll results.
[Poll Results:]
Medieval Game – 53%
Western Game – 24%
Sci-Fi Game – 12%
Farming Game – 1%
“Oh… so this is how it turned out?”
I had expected medieval and western games to split the votes more evenly.
I didn’t think the medieval game would dominate like this.
[+HurryAndLeave: This result is insane lol.]
[This is clearly rigged. We need a revote.]
[Rigged election ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹]
[Pepe: Damn, farming game got nothing huh.]
[I was wondering who the hell voted for farming, and of course, it was that guy.]
[If you were gonna waste your vote, you could’ve at least picked the western game, man.]
[You split the votes, you lunatic!]
Some viewers were upset, but a promise was a promise.
So, right then and there, I bought the medieval game—Kingdom Come.
[Purchase Complete!]
“Alright, I’ve bought it. Let’s get started. Honestly, I’ve been wanting to play this for a while.”
And that was true.
The game looked fun, but I had been waiting until my viewership was high enough to make it worthwhile.
Now, I could play it without worrying.
[+HurryAndLeave: This vote was rigged.]
[What the hell.]
[How did Red Dead lose?!]
[This isn’t right…]
[Pepe: Boo, rigged poll.]
[Yoddu should apologize for this.]
Since the chat was getting chaotic again, I immediately launched the game and got started.
“I’m going with the warrior build. Gonna be up front, swinging a mace.”
I didn’t really enjoy rogue-style gameplay.
It lacked the satisfying back-and-forth of heavy combat.
[+HurryAndLeave: But rogue is fun.]
[+HurryAndLeave: You clearly don’t understand medieval combat, bro.]
[Backstabbing people is so satisfying, you don’t get it.]
[Mass banning all rogue mains in chat lol.]
[There are so many rogue lovers here, damn.]
[Pepe: This is hilarious lol.]
“If you’re gonna play as a rogue, why even play a medieval game? Just go play a stealth game instead. Medieval combat is all about warriors.”
[Lol.]
[+HurryAndLeave: I mean, you’re not wrong.]
[Our great warrior.]
[Have fun swinging your mace… until you get one-shot by a dagger.]
[Pepe: Yeah, but a rogue’s head would get blown off in one hit from a warrior too lol.]
[Pepe: Instant decapitation.]
I jumped straight into the tutorial.
“Hmm, so that’s what happened…”
Not that I was particularly invested.
It was just one of those Oh, so that’s the backstory moments.
After some time.
[Now, embark on your own journey!]
The real game had begun.
“Oh, this is already looking fun. Hehehe.”
[+HurryAndLeave: What was that laugh lol.]
[What the hell lol.]
[That was hilarious.]
[Please get assassinated by a rogue. Please get assassinated by a rogue. Please get assassinated by a rogue…]
[Pepe: As if that would happen lol.]
[Warriors are literally covered in armor. Assassinations don’t work on them.]
[I’ve never seen Yoddu this excited before.]
[Let’s go!]
[How far are you planning to play today?]
And so, I officially started my first variety game stream.
With 1,300 viewers watching.
