“Before Vira arrived, Truth had been trying to pry useful information out of the Beast God’s mouth, after all, a deity who had lived for centuries must know plenty of secrets, right?”
“Unfortunately, Truth discovered that the Beast God didn’t cooperate with every question…”
“Let me ask you, where exactly is your true body located right now?”
“Hold on, let me check.” The Beast God’s mind began to focus, seemingly inspecting something…
“The Beast God wasn’t foolish enough to not know where it was. What it was checking was the fate intertwined between itself and Truth! Before answering any question, it had to know whether answering would bring about misfortune.”
“Well, answering where I currently am poses no problem, it won’t plunge my future into darkness… After confirming fate, the Beast God finally replied:”
“The highest peak in the Northern Region, the Peak of the North.”
“Are you male or female?”
“Uh, this one…” The Beast God checked fate again.
Though the question was somewhat offensive, it found that answering wouldn’t cause much harm.
On the contrary, not answering might invite bad luck: “Rui Beasts have no gender. We are born from heaven and earth.”
“Tsk…” Truth was immediately disappointed. So she couldn’t capture it for breeding after all. What a shame…
“Next, Truth asked a few more questions about Rui Beasts, and the Beast God answered them all one by one, until Truth shifted her interest to the Beast God’s Authority:”
“How many deities are on your Divine Authority’s friend list right now? List them all out for me.”
“The Beast God, well-versed in this routine, checked the fate that would follow answering this question. As a result, it discovered that its originally gray fate with Truth, tinged with a bit of golden future, had once again plunged into endless darkness!”
“Peering briefly into the foreseen fate, the next second, a death world shrouded in thick fog appeared in the Beast God’s mind, scaring it into frantically shaking its head:”
“No, I can’t say that one.”
“Hm? Do I give you the right to refuse?” Truth’s face turned stern as she gradually revealed faint aggression, frightening the Beast God into hastily soothing her emotions:”
“No, no, listen to me first. I’m actually doing this for your own good! I just checked how much impact answering this question would have on our fates, and I found that if you knew the names of those deities on my friend list right now, you would encounter something very, very bad within two years.”
“Oh~, so you were fortune-telling just now! Then tell me, how bad is it?”
“This… I can’t say that either. If you knew about this, the Causality would be affected again, and things would inevitably evolve in an even worse direction.”
“So you can’t provide any evidence yet you want me to believe you out of thin air? Who knows if you’re just messing with me!”
The Beast God answered with righteous indignation:”
“I’ve told you, as a deity, I have absolutely no reason to lie to you. And using Fate Power is my most unique and proud ability. On this point, you can fully trust me. Please.”
“Fine then, let’s test it right now!” Truth clenched both fists with great anticipation:”
“I’m about to punch you in the face. Guess whether the left cheek or the right cheek gets hit first? I’ll give you three seconds to think about it. Three, two…”
“I’m really not fooling you. Some things really aren’t meant for you to know right now.” The Beast God interrupted Truth’s countdown, a hint of pleading seeping into its words:”
“When a butterfly flaps its wings in the west, a storm may soon brew in the east. If we learn certain things about the future at this point in time, then that future will plunge into an unpredictable vortex! So even I don’t dare use Fate Power carelessly. I can only try to avoid some painful outcomes and go with the flow. Truth, I’m really doing this for your own good…”
“Alright, alright, alright!”
Truth was utterly speechless. She couldn’t be bothered wasting time arguing with the Beast God about Butterfly Effects or Fate Paradoxes. Better to just move on to the next question:”
“Then next question, what is the most important function of Faith Power at the Twelfth Rank?”
The true function of Faith Points was what Truth most wanted to know right now.
Currently, at the Second Rank, Faith Power could at most send some good things to disciples and exchange for some Second Rank tools and equipment in the Faith Exchange Shop. Beyond that, it was useless.
Even the Goddess of Life, who was already at the Ten-tier, had to use an entire nation of disciples to continuously harvest Faith Power. This showed that Faith Points were vitally important to Twelve-Rank Gods. So what exactly was the true function of Faith Power?
“I can’t say…” The Beast God said softly.
Truth then gritted her teeth in frustration:”
“Are you going to say again that knowing this now would harm me?”
“Mm…” The Beast God nodded without saying much else.
So Truth immediately switched to another question:”
“Then let me ask again, is this world made of atoms, or is it made of 0s and 1s?”
“Uh… What are 0s, 1s, and atoms? Sorry, I’m not quite sure about this one either…”
This time it wasn’t because of fate, but because the Beast God genuinely didn’t understand what Truth’s question meant. What atoms, what 0s and 1s? Shouldn’t the world be composed of basic magic elements?
“Then what’s the current highest deity Level in this world right now?” Truth asked again, already extremely impatient.
“This is… I don’t know either. Levels are a secret that all deities strictly guard. No one is willing to reveal it. After all, it concerns their most basic status. As long as no one reveals their Level, everyone is temporarily equal. But if one day a Level is exposed, then deities stronger than you would quickly take action, eventually breaking the balance. Up until now, deities are still trapped in the chain of suspicion regarding Levels. I’m no exception, so I can’t disclose this to you either.”
“Fine, fine, fine…” Truth nodded coldly, seeming angry:”
“Then let’s drop the deity talk. Let me switch to another question. I’m asking you now, where can I get a Legendary Grade weapon the fastest?”
“Let me see, hmm… It doesn’t seem appropriate to reveal this to you right now. If you knew now, both your future and mine would turn deep gray, and the world would very likely head toward a Chaos Future.”
“You goddamn bastard!” Truth couldn’t hold back anymore. She directly used her Mind Projection to grab the long whiskers in front of the Beast God’s head and yanked hard, causing its massive skull to crash down before her. Then Truth immediately stepped on the Beast God’s chin:”
“You don’t know this question, you can’t say that one. I think you’re deliberately messing with me! Thinking that letting me get a Legendary weapon now would plunge the world’s future into darkness, huh? Fine, then before I make the world’s future dark, I’ll make your future dark first!”
Truth extended her terrifying claws as she spoke! As a Mind Projection, she couldn’t affect the Beast God’s physical body for now, but tearing its soul and damaging its mind was definitely within her capabilities!
The Beast God panicked and hastily cut off Truth’s Mind Projection transmission. Rather than letting Truth plunge the entire world into darkness, it was better to let its mind and soul take some temporary damage. It had plenty of time to repair itself anyway. Thinking about it that way, the cost-performance was actually pretty good…
Besides, it could take advantage of the time while the Blood Demon attacked the Peak of the North overnight to slowly persuade her. Compared to other demons, this Blood Demon in front of it could at least listen to some reason.
However, just as Truth was about to extend her claws to teach the Beast God a harsh lesson, and the Beast God was hastily cutting off the Mind Projection, suddenly, wave after wave of spatial energy fluctuations came from outside the Frozen Temple! This stunned both of them inside the temple.
Truth still held onto the Beast God’s whiskers and asked:”
“What’s going on outside?”
The Beast God instinctively checked the fate between itself and Truth, then revealed a hint of nervousness. Oh no, Vira is here!
Vira’s arrival wasn’t a big deal, after all, the Beast God knew her very well. But today, the Frozen Temple had an uninvited guest.
After trying to intertwine the fates of itself, Truth, and Vira together, the Beast God discovered that compared to the dark future of revealing the Legendary weapon’s location to Truth ahead of time, Vira learning that Truth was a King Rank Blood Demon seemed to be an even more chaotic, even darker future!
A vision flashed through the Beast God’s mind. It was a world plunged into endless chaos. Every nation had launched a Race War once more, and the God War had erupted simultaneously! Deities fell, races went extinct…
Oh no, the consequences of Vira finding out Truth was a King Rank Blood Demon were actually this severe?!
Looking at it that way, revealing some deity secrets or the location of a Legendary weapon to Truth seemed to have a much higher cost-performance, didn’t it?
