Seeing her dazed expression, Xuefa Shaonv quickly wore a triumphant smile.

Bai Fan’s face turned pale. “But haven’t I already died once?”

“The Bright Spirit Jade protected your soul. Your last breath didn’t break, so the ritual failed.”

Failed?

Bai Fan thought of Master Mo.

She thought of those blood-red eyes, and the anger in her chest blazed again.

“Are you scared?” the girl suddenly asked.

“Scared,” Bai Fan answered without hesitation.

The girl was taken aback instead.

“But I’ve been scared before.” Bai Fan slowly clenched her fists. “And I’ve backed down. And what happened? I was still betrayed by Master Mo.”

She raised her head, her gaze as firm as a blade.

“If that’s the case, then I won’t retreat anymore from now on.”

The girl watched her quietly, then slowly curled her lips into a smile.

Bai Fan asked, “What power is needed to drive the Bright Spirit Jade?”

“Awareness.”

“What is that?”

“A power that extends from the soul to perceive spiritual essence, spiritual energy, and spiritual pressure.”

“How do I acquire—”

“It’s here,” the girl suddenly said.

BOOM!

A piercing roar suddenly came from behind, as if a steel beast was howling.

Bai Fan instinctively turned around, a gust of wind rushing toward her face.

A long-haul semi-truck loaded with cement was crashing through the barrier, charging straight at her.

The cab was covered in mud, massive like an out-of-control monster.

Bai Fan was completely stunned.

“What the hell?!” She had just turned around.

BANG! The next second, her body was sent flying into the air.

The world spun wildly, sky and earth reversed. In the last moment before her consciousness drifted away.

Only one thought remained in her mind.
