“Alright, we’re here. Come on down.”
Ye Xingyao patted his younger sister on the back, signaling that it was time to stop clinging to him.
“Oh.”
Ye Xingling pushed herself off her brother’s embrace and hopped to the ground, curiously eyeing the hallway door that concealed the stairs leading to the safehouse.
“Feeling better?”
Yi Shiyue’s concern warmed Ye Xingling’s heart. The latter nodded vigorously. Though she was still a bit weak, walking on her own was no problem at all.
As expected, when my big brother and Sister Shiyue are together, they make the perfect ideal sibling!
Ye Xingling sighed inwardly as she watched her brother unlock the security door. After passing through two layers of security, they descended together. When Ye Xingyao unlocked the final door, she finally got a clear view of the safehouse’s interior.
“What’s this? Doesn’t feel mysterious or dangerous at all.”
Ye Xingling complained. She had imagined her brother’s safehouse would be like something out of a movie—cold weapons, firearms, contraband all neatly arranged. Instead, it was a fully functional living space.
“This is real life, not a movie.”
Ye Xingyao replied without turning around. He glanced into the room and immediately spotted a bizarre scene—
A blond little girl sat cross-legged on the bed, thoroughly engrossed in a book. She seemed to sense his gaze, turned her head, and smiled at him.
Meanwhile, Hongye Qiu lounged casually in a recliner, eyes closed, apparently unaware of his arrival.
“Brother Xingyao, Sister Xiaoyue, good morning! And this… Miss Magical Girl?”
Fumier set down her book and waved at them. Her gaze swept across the girls one by one, finally landing on the “rescue target” from yesterday, who was hiding behind Ye Xingyao. She offered a gentle smile.
“Good morning~”
Ye Xingyao and Yi Shiyue greeted her in unison. Ye Xingling had mentally prepared herself, but faced with the real person, a mix of unfamiliarity and social anxiety overwhelmed her. She could only whisper to her brother.
“Um… her eyes are kind of scary…”
“Oh? You’re here? Is this your sister?”
Hongye Qiu, roused by the noise, sized up the girl who looked so much like Ye Xingyao behind him.
“Yeah, I’m bringing her to talk about the Supernatural Academy. But first… Fumier, can you come down here for a moment?”
Ye Xingyao signaled Xiaoyue as she took the black plastic bag from him. He placed three blood bags on the table in a row. Xiaoyue, understanding immediately, covered the younger girl’s eyes with her hand.
“It’s fine, I’m not that fragile. If I feel uncomfortable, I’ll close my eyes myself…”
Ye Xingling protested weakly. She was still very curious about her brother’s companions, especially the chance to see a real “vampire.”
“Brother Xingyao? What’s this?”
Fumier looked confused. She remembered they were supposed to try Sister Xiaoyue’s blood today, but why three bags?
“Well, from left to right: Xiaoyue’s, then Xingling’s—my sister’s—and mine.”
“I was thinking about your problem yesterday, and I wanted to see what magical girl blood was like, since its magic power concentration isn’t low either. If their blood can’t solve your issue, I prepared my own as thanks for your help yesterday.”
“Huh? Thank you! Brother Xingyao, Sister Xiaoyue, and you too, Miss Magical Girl…”
Fumier was overwhelmed. At a loss, she bowed to them, tears welling in her eyes as she stared at the three bags on the table.
Is this heaven?
Fumier clasped her hands together, praying over the blood bags. Under Ye Xingyao’s encouraging gaze, she parted her lips, extended her blood fangs, and drained the first bag completely.
From a distance, Hongye Qiu watched the feeding with amusement, chin resting on her hand, lost in thought.
“How is it?”
Yi Shiyue asked impatiently. She cared deeply about the taste of her own blood and whether it could help. Besides, she was the one who suggested this—it was time to see the results.
“Hmm… Compared to regular blood I can collect, Sister Xiaoyue’s is much better. But I still don’t really have an appetite… Sorry.”
“Don’t apologize. Just tell me honestly how you feel.”
Yi Shiyue nodded. Minor things like that didn’t bother her.
Next came Ye Xingling’s blood. It received the same evaluation, but Fumier still drank it all.
The blond girl clutched her slightly swollen belly, staring at the bag containing Ye Xingyao’s blood with a trace of hesitation.
“You don’t have to force yourself. Like you said, there will be more next week.”
Ye Xingyao reminded her, but his words only strengthened her resolve.
“Can’t waste food…”
Fumier licked her fangs, gently punctured the bag, and closed her eyes like a cat savoring a treat.
Hmm… Is my blood really that magical?
As Ye Xingyao stared at his own fingertips, wondering if he should bite and taste them, the little incident with Fumier quickly passed.
With Ye Xingyao as the link, the five girls gathered around the safehouse’s dining table. The small table suddenly felt cramped.
“So you’re thinking of using the Human Alliance’s Supernatural Academy to get your elf friends and the magical girls still in school enrolled?”
After listening to Ye Xingyao’s explanation, Hongye Qiu crossed her arms, leaned back in her chair, and said casually.
“Yeah. They all have their own studies, and if it conflicts with missions, it could get troublesome.”
Ye Xingyao nodded.
“But what about seniors who need to live in normal schools to hide things from their families?”
Ye Xingling raised her hand like a curious child.
“That’s easy to solve. Just register them at school and inform the Supernatural Academy’s teachers. I’m sure the Human Alliance won’t pass up a chance to trade interests with the magical girls.”
Ye Xingyao leaned on the white-haired girl’s shoulder and speculated calmly.
“Mm… Your guess is probably right. But have you thought about this: if the Human Alliance uses your Star Elf name to recruit elf students, what position should you, as the Star Elf, hold?”
Dont taste your own blood.
