Chapter 207: Isabella’s Little Trick

A little over ten minutes earlier.

Cress had hurriedly left the bedroom, looking as though she had some urgent matter to handle, leaving only Gabrielle and Isabella behind.

Perhaps because of her departure, Isabella began staring at Gabrielle’s face. 

Her expression wasn’t particularly animated—she simply looked at her.

Gabrielle pretended to enjoy her breakfast, but her attention was entirely focused on Isabella.

The maid uniform was slightly tight on her. 

She had a slender figure with a full chest. 

Her long hair, a blend of gold and deep purple, had been styled into two braids hanging down. 

Even after being carefully arranged, it still gave off a gentle, refined impression.

Her large eyes occasionally glanced at Gabrielle’s neck, then at the top of her head, before she leaned in a little closer, as if testing something.

She reached out a hand, paused in mid-air, then withdrew it.

This time, it was clearly the Evil God’s personality.

Although she was still trying to hide it and pretend to be the Demon King Isabella’s personality, Gabrielle could now tell who she really was with just a few glances. 

The pure, clear quality in the Evil God’s eyes was far more obvious than in the Demon King’s version of her.

“Lady Silver White Sword Emperor?”

Isabella looked at the white cup to the left of Gabrielle, from which steam was still rising.

“Yes? What is it?”

“Remember to drink more warm milk…”

As she spoke, Isabella’s face grew even redder. “It’s… it’s good for the child.”

“Eh?”

Gabrielle suddenly felt her cheeks burning. 

Why did the conversation turn back to the child again?! 

Last time she had even treated the idea of getting pregnant as some kind of curse.

“I’m serious. I read about it in books that were brought over from there. It’s really fine.”

Her words were filled with suggestion—she might as well have just said “Demon King Castle.”

Only after Gabrielle finished drinking the milk did Isabella let out a relieved sigh, as if a heavy stone had finally settled in her heart.

As Isabella spoke, ripples of emotion spread across her face, turning into a shy blush befitting a young girl.

“Did you sleep well last night?”

“You had a nightmare yesterday, didn’t you?”

“Did I… talk in my sleep?” Gabrielle took a long moment to react.

Evil God Isabella nodded, confirming it.

“At two o’clock in the morning, your hands were trembling the whole time.”

As she spoke, her shyness turned into guilt.

“I can only come to you at night. I wanted to tell you about this now so nothing unexpected happens.”

Gabrielle nodded, but Isabella didn’t seem satisfied yet. She continued asking, “Lady Gabrielle, what did you dream about yesterday?”

Gabrielle touched her hair and thought for a moment. “I dreamed about you.”

“Dreamed about scolding me…?”

Isabella’s hand trembled slightly.

Although she was still extremely hesitant, she eventually walked over to Gabrielle, reached out, and stroked her head—just like Cress had done earlier.

Gabrielle wasn’t particularly immersed in the feeling of being petted. 

She believed the Evil God should be the one getting petted by her.

In a gentle, caring tone, Evil God Isabella said:

“It’s okay. Everything has passed, Gabrielle… Those were all sorrows from the past. Don’t feel sad about them. Everything is fine now.”

She tried her best to comfort Gabrielle. 

As she spoke, her hand moved faster, clearly showing her nervousness.

“Let all the pain from the past disappear from our memories.”

But before Isabella could continue, Gabrielle reached out, grabbed her arm, and pulled her into her embrace.

“I’m sorry.”

Isabella let out a soft “Mm,” and suddenly fell silent. 

Her eyes dimmed as if she had recalled something, and her body trembled slightly.

She was struggling inside as well.

Just as Demon King Isabella had been influenced by the Evil God, the current her was also being affected by “her.” 

Although she tried hard to disguise that hatred, it still surged up from within her from time to time.

It was like a scar. 

Even though it didn’t hurt as much as when the wound was fresh, seeing it still brought back the painful memories.

Isabella’s feelings were just as complicated as Gabrielle had imagined.

Gabrielle’s apology brought her both comfort and excitement, yet also sadness.

In the past, they had nearly become each other’s partners—talking heart-to-heart, kissing, pleasing one another, making vows as if the world was ending.

Yet despite such intimacy, one day Gabrielle’s sword had been pointed at her neck.

This was also the source of Isabella’s desire for answers. 

She desperately wanted to know why Gabrielle had betrayed her, and why she had later chosen to revive her.

To settle all of this, she really had to “conquer” Gabrielle.

It still wasn’t enough, it seemed. 

Seeing the melancholy on Gabrielle’s face, she knew she couldn’t let things end like this.

Gabrielle had recalled those painful memories, and her condition looked very bad.

With her magic power currently unstable and carrying a child, she couldn’t be allowed to shoulder everything alone.

Gabrielle suddenly felt the hand that had been stroking her drift somewhere else. 

Before she could look up, she found Isabella had already cupped her face.

She could smell the fresh, sweet scent on Isabella. The tip of her nose brushed against those full breasts. 

By the time she reacted, Isabella’s face was only a finger’s width away.

Isabella kissed her again.

This kiss was much gentler than the one at night, as if wary of the Holy Body’s rejection. 

This time, Isabella didn’t infuse any shadows. 

She simply kissed her the way couples often did.

Gabrielle thought she was an idiot.

What would happen if Cress saw this scene?

But she could no longer resist. 

The moment she was kissed, her body instinctively pressed closer, constantly reminding her that she was an obedient wife. 

The sensation was similar to being dominated by her Authority in the dream, yet it left her with a sliver of rationality. 

It was as if her lower body had already been caught in a quagmire, and she could only watch helplessly as the rest of her body slowly sank in.

When they separated, Isabella licked her lips as if savoring the taste.

Gabrielle looked at her in a daze. 

If Isabella hadn’t been holding her hand and pulling her into her arms, she might have collapsed straight onto the bed. 

Her fair, slender legs exposed under the sunlight pressed tightly together in reflex.

“Why do you always have to kiss me, you idiot?”

There was a hint of complaint in Gabrielle’s eyes.

“Every time I kiss you, you calm down.”

“C-calm down?”

Isabella’s face flushed red. 

Suddenly remembering something, she added, “You were like this a long time ago too. One kiss and you’d behave. Ah, Cress’s cooking skills really have improved.”
