[Yasuyugongshang: Okay]
Yao Yao was coming over for dinner tonight anyway.
‘Might as well eat together…’ Chi Qingya thought to herself.
Her younger sister always worried about whether she had made any friends. Now, she could finally introduce her… friends to her younger sister, right?
She wondered if her sister would be happy for her once she met them. She didn’t want her sister to worry.
She wanted her sister to know she was doing well here. She wanted to be someone her younger sister could rely on.
Even though Chi Qingya felt a prickle of annoyance upon realizing the message wasn’t from Su Li, the concern from her sisters made her feel a bit better.
‘It’s not that they don’t care about me; there must be other reasons.’
‘Is that right?’
Chi Qingya felt a hint of hesitation, but her head was groggy from the alcohol. She preferred to believe that her sisters cared about her.
Otherwise, her life would be a total failure. No one would feel sad or hurt for her.
There used to be someone… but she just hadn’t cherished them.
‘Su Li…’
Chi Qingya slumped back onto the table and checked the time; it was only just noon. Since she was going out for dinner anyway, it didn’t matter if she skipped lunch.
With that thought, she poured another bottle of alcohol down her throat. Besides, she felt incredibly full right now; she couldn’t possibly eat another bite.
There was still some time before she had to pick up Yao Yao, so there was no need to worry.
Chi Qingya suddenly remembered the last time she went out to eat with her sisters. It felt like it was just yesterday, yet it also seemed impossibly distant.
The last time was to celebrate Su Li finally leaving her side—celebrating her successful escape from Su Li.
She had even felt lucky about it, believing her life was getting a fresh start.
But since then, her life had become a complete mess.
And the time before that? The time before that, when she went out with her sisters, Su Li had sent her a message, but she hadn’t cared.
By the time she did care, she realized it was the very last message Su Li would ever send her. She had no way to add Su Li back.
It seemed like the relationship between them drifted further apart with every meal she shared with her sisters.
Now, she had nothing. Even if she stopped going out to eat, she couldn’t keep Su Li by her side anymore.
Chi Qingya suddenly wished she could go back in time to spend more time with Su Li. Perhaps if she had, Su Li wouldn’t have left her.
“Heehee, Qingya agreed.”
Caixiangxiang looked at the message from Chi Qingya, feeling incredibly happy.
In truth, she didn’t actually want to eat hot pot. However, the prices at Cloud Canteen were quite steep.
If the four of them went, the bill would likely exceed four digits. That was a bit too expensive for a few university students.
But with Chi Qingya there, it was a different story. Chi Qingya would surely be as generous as always and take the initiative to cover all the expenses for her sisters.
It didn’t matter if they didn’t have money, as long as their sister did.
“I’ve wanted to eat there for so long. I’m finally going to tonight. I’m so happy!” Wei Yanxi was equally thrilled, and the group began to gossip.
“Speaking of which, I wonder what Chi Qingya’s sister is like. I hope she doesn’t talk too much and ruin the food for us.”
“She’s just an outsider from the countryside. I’m worried that when we walk together, people will look at us. Just thinking about it is embarrassing. It’s so humiliating.”
“We should tell Chi Qingya to make sure her sister cleans herself up. Taking a country bumpkin to such an elegant place is just too low, isn’t it?”
“Don’t even get me started. You mentioning that reminds me of the first time we went to a big restaurant with Chi Qingya. It was so awkward. I just didn’t expect her to be so rich back then. It’s so annoying. How does an outsider like her have so much money? I don’t get it!”
Caixiangxiang complained, while Wei Yanxi and Chen Tangguan nodded in agreement. None of them had expected an outsider to be so wealthy. Originally, they thought Chi Qingya might pay a bit more out of embarrassment. They never expected her to just treat the whole group.
“It’s also lucky that Chi Qingya hasn’t realized her own potential. Otherwise, if she dressed up a bit, more people would probably want to be her friend. Then she might not necessarily treat us to dinner anymore,” Caixiangxiang said with some emotion.
Chi Qingya’s natural features were actually quite good. Before she became “friends” with them, she actually loved to study.
Caixiangxiang could sense that many people had wanted to get to know her back then. She didn’t know why Chi Qingya had eventually had a falling out with her original roommates.
They were the ones who took Chi Qingya in. At first, it was simply because they didn’t like her old roommates and had some friction with them.
Following the principle that the enemy of my enemy is a friend, their relationship with Chi Qingya developed quite smoothly.
What was originally a casual choice had brought them unexpected surprises.
“Yeah, if Chi Qingya just cleaned herself up a little, she’d probably be on par with Su Li’s looks.”
“Honestly, it’s so frustrating. Why did those two, who don’t even care about their appearance, get such beautiful faces? Meanwhile, I care so much, yet I gain weight so easily, and always break out in acne,” Chen Tangguan said resentfully, her eyes filled with jealousy as she looked at Su Li sitting in the corner.
She could feel that there were still many eyes in the classroom fixed on Su Li.
Even though Su Li wasn’t good at socializing or communicating, she could garner a lot of favor from people just by relying on that face of hers.
“True. It seems unfair, but heaven is actually fair in its own way. It gave those two exquisite looks, but one is a pauper and the other is no different from an idiot,” Caixiangxiang remarked.
It was lucky that the people Chi Qingya met were them. Otherwise, if she had met anyone else, she might have actually turned her life around.
They were all students at the same university and should have been on the same starting line.
Why did Chi Qingya get to live a better life than them? Fortunately, they were all back on the same starting line now.
“Su Li is heading out. Should we follow her secretly and see what she’s up to?”
“Since we’re eating with Chi Qingya tonight, we’ll need to find things to talk about. Su Li is the perfect topic.”
Wei Yanxi watched Su Li leave the classroom and tapped her two friends.
Su Li was indeed the bond that maintained their relationship with Chi Qingya. Perhaps they could find something good this time!
